Thirty Three is one of Billy's best songs in lyrical terms. It is an absolutely perfect poem - an extraordinary piece of work even without the accompanying melody. There are so many lines in this song that strike a chord. I know it was a single, but this song didn't get the respect it should have gotten - respect like Zero and 1979 and Bullet With Butterfly Wings all got. It might not be the catchiest, but lyrically it's the best off that album.

god, i know exactly what you mean.. i was always a huge fan, but his live voice always sounded so bad. i don't know what happened, but he sounds so much better now.  the music sounds better too. maybe he just cares for the first time, or something.
