  • great vid, love the editing lol

im buying the dv7t quad ed

  • @Dem0nz890 Lol thank you!

Oh cool! That's the one I wish I could have gotten, but I didn't have Quad Core money lol!

  • Tip: Camera caddy.

  • @schm147 Thanks, I'll look one up! I really need one lol!

  • so you must have had alot of computers

  • @skulkruncher122 Personal computers of my own this is my 3rd one, but I actually had about 7 or so total. One I used for about 8 months until I replaced my 1st computer that was an HP running 95/upgraded to 98. It was VERY old & finally went out in 06 with a hard drive failure. I had another also that was a temporary one, it was a Compaq and only lasted a few months then I finally got my 07 Dell Desktop. Got a notebook in 2008 and this notebook replaced it when I got it, but still have those 2.

  • i noticed that you have the speakers that came with the 1998 compaq desktop computer and aol 1.0

  • @skulkruncher122 LOL wow you're good! Yes, that's EXACTLY what these speakers came with. I had that PC temporarily as I mentioned in my last comment. These speaker are still going and they're very good. Quite surprised at how great they are. My Compaq was a horrible PC, glad it went out on it's own. lol.

  • I had a touchsmart tx2, nothing wrong with it except the decrease\increase did not work on the screen. HP tried to fix it 3 times but to no avail. So HP honour there warantee and gave me an option to replace it with a new laptop that has similar specs. I norrowed it down to the dv7 and the envy. I ended up with a whole lot more laptop than my tx2. so for people who says HP customer support is crap, I'm proof that they are not. Love my envy, but the dv7 would be my second choice for sure.

  • @tundra12555 Wow that's awesome! Which ENVY did you go with? I so wanted an ENVY, but I heard the new ones were coming, but I couldn't wait any longer so I got the dv7. The old ENVY's didn't really suit me well. The only thing I hate I don't have on this machine is a backlit keyboard. I really wish it had one, especially for it being a high performance level PC. Should have at least been an option. (= I agree, HP CS is awesome, never had any issues either.

  • @Kenneth2890 With the envy, I had the choice to go with all of them except for the 3D. At the time, I told myself to grab the more exspensive one, Envy 17-1190 it's basically the same as your dv7. I love it but if I knew, I would have waited for the newer envy15. I think the envy 15 would have been perfect. But I can't complain with what I got.I think I will get the DV6 for carrying around and leave the envy at home. You have an amazing laptop as well !

  • @Kenneth2890 As for the backlit, that was one thing that got me excited as well. But to be honest my friend, I don't use it much. Because we have such a masive screen and so bright, it lights the keyboard as well. I can see the keyboard pretty clearly without the backlit. I like the lit up pad, I wonder why they just have that option on both the keyboard and pad on both models. Don't sell your laptop short, it's an entertainment powerhouse as well !

  • @tundra12555 You're right, it's amazing how bright these screens are. Something I was impressed by. Yes, the lit touchpad is nice, very stylish look. Oh no, I'd never do that. You're right, it really is a powerhouse notebook! I was hating myself for not being able to get the quad edition, but gosh these dual core machines have some amazing power as well! These notebooks and take a big punch and still keep going. Quite impressive! (=

  • what is the name of the background music ?

  • @techmonster100 Not sure of the specific name, but it's from the Sonic Mega Series Collection. It's the sub-menu music on there (=

  • Let's say I get an emulator on this for a Gameboy advanced, would I be able to plug in a gamecube controller somewhere, or would I have to use the keyboard?

  • @ThatGamerDude9000 Hmmm I'm not really sure. This computer has 4 USB ports and I actually have a logitech game controller that I use for playing the entire Sonic series. Works just fine on the computer by just plug and play.

  • Like from me! ^^

  • i love mine but mine has an i7 core processor and i have like 8g of ram

  • @27Mulisha =) and you're so lucky! I wanted the i7 processor, but it was a bit too rich for my blood at the time, lol!

  • This guy broke my gaydar....

  • hello, I would like to ask about battery life. how many hours does it last without charging.?

  • @smaro9604 If you're a power user as I am, then 4 to 5 hours will be your battery life, if you're moderate and below then it's very easy to get up to 7 or 7 and a half hours from your notebook. Very good for a notebook of this size. You can change your power settings to increase the time as well, such as using a lower processor state when on battery.

  • but it looks very nice the color and design!! how is it playing games on your laptop?

  • @ichimaru9916 Yes, I really like it... the only downfall is because of its color, make sure you keep a cloth in your page to wipe finger prints and dust as it's a magnet for both! I have only Played the old Sonic series and Bejeweled 3 on my computer and all of them run smoothly. With what I customized my computer w/it shouldn't be any issues playing current games. So, make sure you get the extra graphics card also in case I didn't mention it. Might need that for certain games!

  • ya I am thinking to buy dv6 lol

  • @ichimaru9916 Lol funny... that's what I was originally buying! At the time I bought mine, it was only a $40 diff between the 2 so it was worth it to have a larger screen. Also the resolution was better. I like fitting more on my screen and the 1600x900 was better for me over a 1366x768. Only thing I dislike... finding the "RIGHT" computer case for this sucker is so hard, lol.

  • I see its a great computer!! thankyou! Ill buy this\(^o^)/

  • @ichimaru9916 Yes, I've been enjoying mine. You're welcome and that's wonderful! Over 4 months later she's still going strong and not one issue from my computer yet. I know I better not have any at all either lol! I trust HP products exclusively for my business and all the HP products I've ever owned have held out for years. PC wise will always be HP, if it wasn't HP, I certainly would probably have a MAC instead, lol.

  • so if I dont do heavy things it will be quite! thank you!

  • @ichimaru9916 Yes, 90% of what you though will not have the fan turning so frequently though. Ex: Editing HD video will cause the fan to probably get the loudest possible. Photo editing, gaming and other things will have normal fan use so noise will be moderate as from any other laptop you may use. Only uses high power when it's needed so that's a good thing. U can turn the fan to a lower setting if you choose.

  • I heard that the fan is noisy how about this??

  • @ichimaru9916 Yes, the fan can be quite noisy if you have the coolest fan setting selected in the "HP Cool Sense" control panel and you're doing heavy work that requires a lot of your processor. It does keep the computer very cool as high of a speed as it can go, but it's very very loud!

  • thanx, nice review

  • @FILIP0000007 Thank you, greatly! I appreciate it!

  • Plz respond witch of these three labtops should i get asus, hp pavillon or acer

  • @Boogla19981 Asus notebooks are quite the handy machine, hmmm Acer I'm not sure about. I've used Acer and they're pretty good, but just weren't to my liking with build quality as a main thing. Asus or HP would be my suggestions to choose from of the 3. (=

  • it was fixed by itself i dont know how !!! thnx anyway !!!

  • @TheAsiel95 Lol wow really?! Cool and you're welcome!

  • Am surrounded by students right now (physics) and they are admiring your pics on facebook while they discuss their dissertations.

  • @mabhekaphansi Oh wow, really?! I'm delighted about that! (=

  • Well, my DV7 Pavilion is the biggest load of rubbish I ever bought.Bluescreens often, except when using linux.

  • @mabhekaphansi Oh my goodness! That really sucks! Do you know why it keeps blue screening?? Seems like it could be a defective driver. Oh yeah, nothing like running Linux... I have that on my desktop that runs XP. Sucks at running XP since it's so old, but still good at running Linux.

  • @Kenneth2890 LOL, have upgraded EVERYTHING, updated all drivers, got Win7 Professional AND Win7 Ultimate, currently running professional; nothing works, bluescreens and crashes several times a day. Won't install office. and periodically insists that I have NEVER installed updates. tells me there are memory problems, but don't have any problems.

  • @mabhekaphansi DANG!!! lol!! Now THAT's just brutal!! Which dv7 model year do you have and what's the RAM, processor and graphics cards on yours? It seems like it's just a bad motherboard then.

  • @Kenneth2890 LOL, it's a dv7 3111-ea, British model. I am thinking of moving to a new Samsung. Kenneth, as long as I can get by using linux it's okay for me, and provided I don't get too ambitious with Win7 the laptop behaves itself, more-or-less.. But it really irks me about my games..... I am an rpg/quest freak. Mmm, I must get together with my friends and work out a suitable Zulu cognomen for you; give me a few days, we'll Africanise you yet.

  • @mabhekaphansi Ohh okay one of the 3000 models. Hmmm, compared to the newer 6000 models, I don't know if you would be sold into trying a newer one considering the issues with your current one. Samsung's line of notebooks are quite impressive so I'm sure you wouldn't be in the wrong for looking at getting one of those. I think they're great! Lol oh my, that sounds interesting!

  • @Kenneth2890 never again will a HP darken my desk. I actually need the large screen coz I do a lot of work (Physics and maths)with rural or poor schools where there is no electricity, getting there on a motorbike; I do Powerpoint demos on the laptop, using a pile of batteries! Most of the kids have never seen a computer, and are overawed by the laptop. I will confess that I enjoy getting all tech under a tree, which is the classroom.

  • @mabhekaphansi I can understand that. Oh my favorite subjects. Oh wow that's very interesting. Never would have imagined how schools are else where in the world. It's impressive. Lol that's funny. Technology is very fun indeed! I know I certainly enjoy it!

  • @Kenneth2890 LOL,well, K, not all the schools here are like that, and, anyway, kids are kids everywhere. The rural kids are so very, very eager to learn and get educated, and I love working with them. But you people there in the USA are SOOOOO lucky to live there; when we look on TV at what you call bad neighbourhoods, we are astonished coz they look pretty damned nice places to live; .... to us the USA looks like almost paradise. And your schools..... wow!

  • @Kenneth2890 But Linux runs so sweetly, always, for crunchy day-to-day stuff, but ..... my games, oh, my games! they only run on Windows, so it's a case of boot up in win7 and pray while I play.

  • Yes, Linux is nice... I especially love it when servicing computers. Wow, I know that's gotta be dreadful! My previous laptop was an Acer (which was given to me new with Vista) and I hated that notebook. It started bluescreening on me, so reason why I bought this new one myself. Had to replace it lol.

  • hi again , gave u dissemble ur pavilion before ??

because i want to know if the battery latch (the key which opens the battery) is directly under the hood or not ?? mine is stuck(battery latch) !!

  • @TheAsiel95 Hi... no, unfortunately I haven't before, so I'm not fully sure. Sorry =(

  • Comment removed

  • @xXSteelBurnXx Yes, you can, but depends on how you customize your computer. Getting the base model config you probably won't be able to that wall. The customization I have, yes, but you may want the quad core processor instead of the dual core, other than that you should be fine.

  • @Kenneth2890 OK Thanks You :D

  • but still the disabling isnt working on light is turning off and the square that comes on the screen i know it but it doesnt appear to me what should i do ??

  • @TheAsiel95 May be a driver of some sort... may have to contact HP for that one... I'm not sure. Sorry =(

  • i dont know what type of dv7t i have but it looks completely like urs but bigger and wider . And if i want to turn off the light as well as the pad what should i do?? i have a square at the corner of the pad but double clicking it doesnt respon to anything !! And thnx the fn thing worked !!

  • @TheAsiel95 Hmmm, if the square icon on the touch pad isn't responding, one of you HP services for that could be disabled. I believe it's like a service key service or something. Not really certain. A screen is to display in the center of your monitor when you enable or disable and if you don't see it, then that's a way to tell also. You're welcome, glad that was the problem and it worked (=

  • I have this laptop and the white light around the touch pad stopped glowing but the orange light when you turn it off still works can someone help me?

  • @blazestrika Try pressing the "fn" button and then space bar while still holding the "fn" button. You could have disabled the light on accident. If that doesn't enable the light back, contact HP support to ask about that. Hope this helps (=

  • actually i dont have it now , as well as i dont know the manufacture date , but i am sure there is lightscribe . And thnx for the information because i want to upgrade mine (ram)

  • @TheAsiel1 Oh okay. Yes, only maybe a few of the 2011 dv7t's have Lightscribe, but most of the production of them are without. All the previous year models do have Lightscribe or had the option available. I actually wanted Lightscribe to print the image eon my disc's for photography clients, but oh well. *sigh* You're welcome and since you have the i7, upgrading the RAM won't be any issue, just make sure its 1333MHz and not 1666MHz as that only works for i7 extreme processors (=

  • @Kenneth2890 mine is 2.0 i7 , i dont care for lightscribe alot because at the end its not colored ! but many ppl do care about it , but have a question ? turning off the light aorund the mouse pad isnt available to me as well as multigesture !! what should i do ?? install driver??

  • @TheAsiel95 Which dv7t do you have? The 2011 or previous model? If you have a previous model, the touch pad button to turn off the touch pad may be above the touch pad, to turn off the light but keep the touch pad active, you have to push down the "fn" then the space bar button.

  • I bought one couple weeks ago . Mine is core i7 :P , i think yours will have some issues later because 8gb ram is alot for an i5 and mine it has lightscribe too I dont know why someone said above that hp stopped providing lightscribe !!

  • @TheAsiel1 An i5 2410M processor is built to run at 12-16GB RAM, the max for a 64-bit Windows OS. I won't have any issues w/my notebook. What is the manufacture date for your computer? Lightscribe was still among PC's from HP until May 2011 of this year. My computer is a Sept 2011 PC and doesn't have Lightscribe as HP does not offer it anymore and states that online.

  • @Kenneth2890 Professional, ultimate, and enterprise windows 7 releases can support 192GB of ram btw

  • @Steveindajeep Yes, I know... (= I didn't mention those since most don't get those versions and usually stay with Home Premium.

  • Is this laptop able to run "Skyrim" on recomended setting. PLease message me bake efore i make the purchase.

  • @Rivera27310 Check your inbox (=

  • Can it run crysis?

  • @bocajbee I haven't played the game before, but for my configuration I have, yes it can. The built on Intel graphics card could probably handle the game, but not as well as having the AMD graphics card added so make sure to have that (=

  • Where do you connect external speakers?

  • @RocketSoldier At 2:00 there are 3 ports I showed... the 1st one to the far left is for the Microphone, the other 2 are the Headphone/External Speaker jacks. Because there are two, you can always have your external speakers connected and connect head phones in the other jack also. Quite flexible indeed!

  • is this the HP pavilion dv7t laptop that comes with "beats audio" and "Lightscribe CD/DVD burner" and the fingerprint reader?

  • @mr80sfreak85 Yes, this one has Beats Audio, but unfortunately this one doesn't have Lightscribe. The previous model of 2010 did. HP doesn't offer Lightscribe anymore and that was something I was hoping to have. Yes, it has the finger print reader also... it's very handy indeed!

  • Though the camera movement is a bit shaky, the quality of the vid is great. I was able to get a much better look at the laptop than the demo on HP's site. Thanks!

  • @vivekis Yes, using a full bodied SLR camera and a focus sensitive macro lens just isn't a great combo, it's really heavy already to begin with, but really wanted to show everything. The full review will be much better though, it's actually tri-pod mounted for that video, which is coming soon. Glad this video was helpful for you!

  • we all know its a review thats why we clicked it :3

  • I love you....... remember that LOL!

  • @LuvNknappiness Thanks (=
