Thanks for all the wonderful tips, Erik! When you're growing with hydroponics, the only goal is to get the biggest yields. That's really not difficult to achieve because hydroponics growers have all the tools to make that happen. One very important tool that can help any grower succeed in hydroponics is the nutrient that will be used for the plants. Good thing that there are tons of choices for potent nutrients in hydro stores, specifically from AN who manufactures very potent hydro nutrients!
has any1 ever tryd topping there plants in a sog system and if so did it benefit you in terms of yield if not do you think it would work or jus create to much density..
@pcpjcp yup, I have tried topping before to create a very nice canopy. Yield was substantial! I had colas side by side rather than a single cola and regular buds lower down. Some strains do not respond to topping well I have heard, but give it a try!
25 plants in a 4x4 area!?! 100 plants in an 8 by 8 room?!! Thats mad jail time for no reason. big pots big plants big yeilds better quality becuase of spacing
Anything that you can force to finish under 18" tall will work! Look for varieties that produce chunky, short, squat growth with minimal side branching....try 25 plants in a 4' X 4' area, with about 5-10 days of vegetative growth before switching them into bloom. The higher planting densities help to make up for the smaller stature of the plants as far as yields go, and you can harvest in less time too.
