ben shoulda named this song "one of the main reasons 9/11 happened to us"...you know that every smug, bloated, smelly, abortion of a person had to spit out their big mac when that happened....i'm not saying it was right...not by a long shot...but i can see where some psycho would look at this country that's spinning the world off its axis due to our obesity and give us a big fat murderous wake-up call...as fucked up as it was
While I can't say whether or not I agree that the 911 attacks happened solely based on the weight of our country...I can say this.
The song isn't just talking about the obesity epidemic sweeping our country. It's talking about the all out consumption of goods in other ways too. It's not just about eating six or seven McDoubles in a row (as gross as that even sounds) it's about us slowly destroying the rest of the world through resource waste because we think we're entitled to them
@DisasterRising...I always saw this tune as being an ode to the out of control empty headed consumerism in this country...I mean I don't think they have supermarkets with impulse items in every checkout in many parts of the world and I suppose the main metaphor in the tune would be the title itself...of course it's not all to be taken literally
@manifestgtr You are certainly right about the impulse items. I recently had the pleasure of having an exchange student from Argentina in a class with me. One of the things she said was different about America was "All the food." Plus, I work in a supermarket and have to throw out GALLONS of milk every week because its been on the shelf too long. Point is, the USA is so wasteful its disgusting.
This is from the SUPERSUNNYSPEEDGRAPHIC Album, rather than Rockin' the Suburbs. Just thought I'd mention it since alot of people have trouble finding which album this is from.
The best way to download this as an mp3 is on that site mp3iiiiify. Awesome site. GOOGLE mp3iiiiify
