You can't get even close to that big without steroids, "I want it faster" can't be applied to pros. Yes when they first start steroids there mass may accelerate, but even on steroids now Jay cutler may struggle to gain 5lbs of muscle a year. An experienced natural can gain 5lbs a year with proper training and diet. But the pros are on another level.

  • Damn, he doesn't bent his legs at all...

  • dat hamstring

  • thats a good morning, not a stiff legged deadlift...

  • @nixtermixter notsureifsrs

  • @nixtermixter You obviously don't know what a good morning is, then.

  • @DreadfulControversy i was stating my opinion so please, bother someone else. and when youre done, go play in traffic.

  • @nixtermixter It wasn't an opinion, it was stupidity. Once again, you don't know what a good morning is, obviously. Idiots like you should never be able to give weightlifting advice.

  • Weird cross-over American accent.

  • where can i get shorts like that ?>

  • dead with massive heart attack by 66 due to extreme steroid use i guarantee

  • @rodstrangler how could you no that, the media blows steroid dangerous out of proportion, they are not good for you for sure but they are not near as bad as some say

  • @SuperTestfreak rofl yeah live in your illusion... steroids is one of the worst thing ever you could do to your body nothing else to say.

  • @PG1337ify still not as bad as smoking, and drinking. Infact prior to congress being bought, out a study was done showing over 140 drugs are worse for you than steriods. Including asprine, and multi-vitamins.

  • @shinjig multivitamins and aspirine? i hardly doubt it omg. what fucking idiotstudy says this? but well if u want to believe it... i dont even think alc and smoking is as bad as steroids, even though i dont consume any of the named things.

  • @PG1337ify No offense man but you're ignorant of the properties of steroids if you think long term alcohol use or long term smoking is "better" for your body then steroids.

  • @PG1337ify It was apart of the documentary on steriods in america. Called "Bigger Stronger Faster". In part 3 of the documentary they listed the mortality rates for tobacco, alc and steriods (435,000: 75,000: and 3 respectively as in the number of people who die every year because of said drugs). Then was listed the leading drugs that cause visits to the emergency room. steriods came in at 142. Behind multivitamins and asprine.

  • @PG1337ify You do realise that just because you think something, it doesn't make it true? Tobacco obviously has a much, much higher mortality rate than steroids. Alcohol too...they are the leading causes of preventable death Western society. Whilst those steroid stats are misrepresnted in the documentary in question, they are a miles and miles behind many legal substances.

  • @Louie212121

Yeah, steroid fatalities caused by pure steroid abuse is rare. Thats not the point.

The long term effects of steroids are the issue in question, how many cardiac surgeries has Arnold had?

Personally I dont like it from a natural perspective, its just another way for people to say "I want it faster" I have so much more respect for natural bodybuilders than I do for steroid takers. Im not taking anything away from them, they both have incredible discipline, but natural wins.

  • @rodstrangler 40 years of being a king though...

  • beast mode activated

  • its dorian yates!

  • @19thaman79. there are different ways to do a deadlift, and they are all a great all round exercise. Yes you can have a slight knee bend and that would make it a Romanian Deadlift. The stiff legged deadlift is super effective on hamstrings and glutes(tie-in). You don`t have to do a massive weight for it to be effective as long as you feel the movement. So as for unwanted stress on lower lumber, you must do the weight that keeps correct form&not go stupid.

  • @deadbluetit I was always taught to keep a slight bend in my knees with my back straight. What is a Romanian deadlift?

  • @19thaman79 That is a bit different exercise mate like in the video he says stiff legged works more on hamstrings and your slighty bent-knee version works gluts more :)

  • I was taught to keep a slight bend in my knees to prevent excess lower back stress. By keeping your back flat and knees straight, all the unwanted stress that's being put on your lumbar is immense.

  • @19thaman79 then execute higher repetitions. or don't do it. but isolation is kind of the point

  • @KORZAHK All due respect but I think your missing my point.

  • @19thaman79 could you reiterate then please?

  • I wonder what he would have been able to do without a shit load of drugs. Fucking loser

  • @PUSSY100ish They would be alot smaller, weaker and slower without their STEROIDS and other DRUGS. No wonder they get mad when we expose these FRAUDS.

    Stay natural buddy!

  • @steroidsR4losers dude he's showing an exercise, calm the fuck down

  • man i strained my lowerback doing this, but isnt this workout suppose to workout your lowerback as well as your hamstrings

  • @obie1benobee15 tht could mean u got muscular imbalances or u rounded ur back, yeah this works ur lower back and ur hams

  • @obie1benobee15 Not if you keep your lower back straight! Your back is getting rounded and exercising your erector spinae thats why your lower back is getting strained :) Keep it straight like he says in the video and it doesnt but too much strain on lower back :)

  • @steroidsR4losers

    How you know?

  • @shadowknight132 steroids are like beans the more you eat em the more you fart

  • @steroidsR4losers ok steroids arent cool, but leave the drugs out of it, they're really fun...

  • @steroidsR4losers im guessing your very small and can't build any muscle?

  • ey guys should i do these with a weight like normall deads or less weight?

  • Dorian Looks Like A Hardcore Football Hooligan Here.... :D

  • do you have to curve your back to avoid injuries ?

  • @unownguitarist you mean arch? Yeah.

  • People like him only get to the top by using drugs. They tell you that it's hard work several days a week, but no one can train like that naturally. Take the drugs away and let's see how hard and frequent they train.

  • @PUSSY100ish you idiot, just because you take some drugs doesnt mean your muscles will just start growing. Its called busting your ass in the gym and having a strict nutritional diet. Take Arnold for instance, yeah he took steroids, but he also was at the gym hours on top of hours.

  • @dajayc you guys forget to mention GENETICS. the average guy would never get that big no matter how many drugs he takes or how much food he eats or how hard he trains. If you weren't born with a large percent of fast twitch muscle fibers you will never get huge like this guy its as simple as that.

  • @bzd1983 you are %100 right!!! I know it by me...if your genetic bad forget getting muscle, but you can get stronger like that bodybuilder , more muscle dosent mean more power...

  • datass

  • Monster legs

  • Shouldn't this be called straight-legged dead lift? JW, cause there are straight and stiff legged. Either way, great video from a legend.

  • is he keeping hes knees locked?? srs question

  • @jnbodybuilding It's not necessary. They are stiff legged deadlifts, not straight legged deadlifts. You can still bend your knees a little and work the hamstrings.

  • Agree and a fine wife woooooh

  • Years past his best but still built like a motherfucker....and without doubt the most intelligent mind in the sport today....Dorian Yates.

  • Dorian is the fucking man and his technique is dead on. How many other bodybuilders have torn their triceps just three weeks before competition and ended up winning the Olympia nonetheless? Few and far between, chumps.

  • he is the only one that does this exercise right..........thanks,dorian

  • @ShadowCrashed81

LOL Nice job quoting Liam Neeson in the movie Taken :P

  • these buuuuuurn

  • Can you get hemorhoids from this particular exercise?

  • @gorjan18 a lot of exercises can bring them on if your prone to gettin them, anything that causes a push ie squats, leg press

  • @elitesniperface yeah but i think that this particular exercise played big role in getting my hemorhoids, people if you do this exercise don't use a lot of weoght

  • i tried doing these for the first time today, but i felt so much in my lower back.......so i came home and saw this.......now i know what i did wrong.....thanks Dorian!!!

  • 4 sets of these and straight onto the Ham - curl machine will have you begging for mercy the next few days! Trust me!

  • Check Out My Deadlift Video!! Thanks

  • i stand on a platform and let the barbell touch my feet

  • @TitWarlord too far

  • I bet most of you drink alchohol? why, are you not cool or outgoing enough to have a night out without it? doubt it. you just want to, it helps things long and is fun. steriods helps things along and unless you are predisposed to be a twat, it harms nobody. get educated before you post as i guarantee most 'sensible' steriod users will know 1000% more than it than you will. the rest of them shouldnt touch the stuff. but that applies to drugs/alchohol, everything.

  • @ragealan

its like, pro risk more then amatuers. amateurs wont get steroids and stuff to get that huge.

  • I love these steriod comments from uneducated idiots. First of all, the most commonly used steriods often make you have a feeling of wellbeing, not aggression. If you are an aggressive idiot, you will become more of one..if not, very unlikely you will. 2nd, they are not just for pro's, or lazy people. most train harder on gear, if you take steriods and do fuck all, you wont grow at all. it just happens quicker, whats wrong with a short cut if its just for personal gain. In sport yes cheating.

  • @ragealan

i think bodybuilders use steroids, to get more mass then normal. for example... the body has it own limited grown. when your big and stuff and natural, the body don't grow anymore. so they use steroids to pass that limited line.

Imagine, if bodybuilders around the world were all natural, right.. so, they grow to their max level,, and they go to stage, and they all have great bodys and stuff. do they all get to mr olympia? it cant be ahah. this is what i think im sorry being confuse

  • @motorruben correct in a sense.each body has its own 'genetic growth potential', & theres ALWAYS a limit. I mean iv used steriods,& im still only about 80kg and could never get to stage or become like Dorian, steriods or not!. depends on muscle fibres etc, then stuff like drive, diet, training etc. exactly the same reason why national sprinters/athletes arent all usain bolt! even if they do steriods. its all about fulfilling 'genetic potential', which CAN be done naturally. its just harder :)

  • @motorruben i mean look at natural bodybuilders on this site. They look like they are on steriods but arent. granted they may not be as big, but give them another 10 years of doing what they have been doing and how would they be? I think its virtually impossible to reach genetic potential in a short enough time frame to compete, and those that win Mr Olympia etc are pretty much muscular growth perfection and have virtually 0% body fat.all by the time they are 30ish.

  • @ragealan its true =) hey mate im sorry if i wa confusing with my reply, i even cant explain this in my own language :P

yes steroids dont do magic. you take it and u still have to work hard . thanks for the reply, i learn something from it.

  • @motorruben cool man its good that not everybody watches these videos then decides to just abuse anyone that takes steriods. i just like to appreciate what the human body can do, either naturally or with the use of performance enhancers. I just wish I had better genetic potential :)

  • @ragealan

for sure. alot of stupid guys just say "oooh big steroids on him" and that. its annyoing .

Bodybuilding is a perfect sport for me. i love it. and yes its unbelivable what human body can do!

Hey man don't worry about ur gens :P just go to gym and train hard for your achievements :D

  • remich luxembourg my friend let me see what you`ve got

  • @roidersRhomos Lol i dont gear, this guy does tho..

  • Isn't this the Romanian Deadlift ....!?

  • @roidersRhomos Yep Ive never known a guy who takes roids to be cool or normal, they r all dickheads

  • Comment removed

  • dorian yates? dont you mean phrygian yates?

  • still looks good.

  • his legs are still monstrous

  • His triceps allways was sucks

  • @amitai3 He didn't win 6 mr O's with crap Triceps mate!

  • Can someone explain to me the difference between stiff leg deadlft and a deadlift ? for me both look the same.

  • @TheArchangell666 in normal deadlifts, quadriceps r engaged too, while in stiff dead lift u concentrate more on ur hamstrings (since ur knees r locked).Id say stiff legged dl is more of an isolate exercise, and normal deadlifts is more of a full body exercise. Both r ment to hit ur legs and back (depending on style) more than any other part of ur body.

  • @MrMethadrine

what is the diff between stiff leg dl and straight leg dl?

what is the diff between normal and romanian dl?

  • @phoonjzc Stiff dl its same as straight dl.U keep ur legs-knees totally straight without angle at all, while in romanian ur knees have a slight angle. In stiff dls u concetrate even more in hamstrings and avoid involvement of quadriceps.Personally i avoid straight-stiff dls cause i think they r dangerous,i prefer a slight angle on knees,But if u choose to do stiff dls, dont overload the bar and dont go too low.And ofcourse a lotof warmup before ur sets.Stiff dls adds too much tension on hamstrings

  • Dorian Yates is one of my fauvorite bodybuilders, but that stiffleg deadlift was just wrong..

It's not only Dorian, but many bodybuilders who think it's just a piece of cake to instruct exercises to people's. They should be educated like anybody else.

  • Remember guys he goes only 60*angle not 90 cause that will kill your lower back

  • How can 14 people not like this? Its a bodybuilding legend demonsrating how to do stiff legged deadlifts.......................Ah its 14 bodybuilders that he's beat over the years.

  • thats terribly wrong he is doing it terribly wrong

  • @hisho551 I think Dorian Yates knows what the fuck he's talking about.

  • LEts make it clear, Steroids are for pros, its not like you use them and you look like yates if that would be true how many colemans, yates, cutlers we would see walking on the mall everyday. So all that steroids are for losers stuff is BS. Steroids are for pros but if you use them and you are not one then you are a loser who doesnt want to work hard

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU THINK PEOPLE WHO LIKE TO COMMENT ABOUT STEROIDS IS A DOUCH!

  • everyone who is against steroids, fair enough, this is an art. dorian is a good friend of mine and for those who are saying hes the 'saddest cunt out' back off :) thanks k bye

  • its not fake muscle dumb ass stop posting fag

  • roids

  • @steroidsR4losers you need to let it go bro, seriously all this trolling ? you need to be mentally stronger than this. All this hating can only be negative for your own health

  • @steroidsR4losers you sir are the saddest cunt out. Your mental illness and unacceptance of others will be the end of you. Good luck in LIFE. Your SURELY going to need it with your issues.

  • @steroidsR4losers "Hater"

  • wich parts does this actually work best? the lower back and the hams? ... someone told me it doesnt work your back, but if it doesnt why the heck does this exercise allways appear in the back workouts on the internet??...just curious

  • @vikmit1 There are different types of dead lift this targets ur legs rather than back whereas in a standard dead lift u bend ur legs and push up and then pull the weight up with ur back.

  • @kenny01622 soo...basicly the stiff legged deadlift works your hamstrings, and the other typical deadlift where you bent your legs and shit, works your back? what about lower back? ...because the reason i have been deadlifting was that i wanted a bigger back, so should i change the way im doing the lift? coz i was doing stiff-legged untill now, should i do the standart for back than? thank you :)

  • @vikmit1 Right standard dead lifts work your whole posterior chain, so a little bit of upper back or Lats, but they mainly work you lower back and legs and r an awesome mass builder so really take advantage cause not enough guys do them, mainly cause they worry about injury and I do cringe at the technique in the gym cause guys look like they r gonna snap their back or run into some serious trouble as a results of bad form, but start light to nail technique from the get go and your sorted.

  • @kenny01622 great, thanks for the answer i keep that in mind.i allways liked deadlifting, its my favourite exercise , so il do standart from now on :)

  • Mr Yates you are an inspiration!

  • How many sets & reps for beginners should be done?

  • @MrDaddyrules I'd say 3 sets of 7-10 reps ;)

  • @masterjacog5 Thanks. Been doing the deadlift for 2 weeks now, still working on the form, doing both stiff legged and regular. Is it normal that your lower back will ache a bit in the beginning?

  • @MrDaddyrules If you are having a general aching in lower back distributed uniformly then I think it's Ok, just sore. But if you are having pain at some particular area like lower right or lower left, then it's bad form or too much weight. I usually deadlift light about 135lbs if I feel slightest pain. Squats or dead lifts are great exercises but can cause injury. And if your back is gone, everything is gone. Be careful with your lower back.

  • @MrChutzpah2002 Thanks. I'm generally a slender guy (ectomorph) so I realize I need extra effort to get big. I think I started with too much weight. I lift in kilograms and I do 3 sets of 10x 30kg (about 60 lbs) 6 x 40kg (80 lbs) and 4x50kg (100 lbs). I weight about 150 lbs. Does that sound ok? When I was deadliftining today the pain was not there as in the beginning. Yeah, I realize the importance of looking after your back, I have spotters make sure it's straight. Thanks.

  • @MrDaddyrules 150lbs sound OK. Earlier when I was 24 till 34, I never actually did dead lifts or squats. Mainly upper body only and I bulked up. Now realizing how important both exercises are I do them twice a week. You can definitely lift 135lbs in deadlifts without hurting yourself. And same for squats. Do you use a weight belt. I always use one. Squatting is where you are more likely to hurt your lower back. Lift heavy to bulk and take wheybolic extreme 60, pure whey for post workout.

  • @MrDaddyrules wheybolic extreme is not some steroid or some messed up supplement, it's just whey and luciene protien, found in eggs or milk. Take that post workout 30mins. And eat more boiled eggs, beans. Lift heavy to gain muscle mass and definition. Don't underestimate yourself. Depending on how old you are your (20s-40) your strength will only increase and will size.

  • roids

  • fucking tree trunks

  • LEGEND

  • even with a shirt on, his back looks really awesome

  • I thought they banned him from Gold's.

  • i do t bar rows and they strengthen my core while im doing weights. I don't do any extra core work. I do deadlifts and stiff leg deadlitfs all the time and they work my core too. It think you just have to make sure in the mirror and get a good feel for your body.

  • Everything done to stabilize yourself, makes you weaker without all the help. So, no strong belts just stronger backs!

  • Comment removed

  • @ManVsIron I have the same issue as BGRizzMayne, I feel it in the lower back as well, presumably because my core needs work as well. Any ideas for exercises to strengthen that area in preparation for the stiff legged deadlifts?

  • he's got hamropes not hamstrings

  • His legs look like the pillars at the Parthenon!

  • still has massive tree trunk legs

  • beastly leggs

  • dorian yates you the man.....im 5 10 and 185 pound and just started your blood and guts. in my second week and already seein results. thank u .

  • Great and informative video, thanks

  • @iAmStrengthlyFit Your a complete idiot. Dont get people on here hurt by trying to make them feel their back in a CLEAR hamstring exercise. Retard

  • Hm. Pretty easy to mess up your back if you don't get it right...

  • @iAmStrengthlyFit Didnt he just say it works the top of the hamstring n glutes??

  • @iAmStrengthlyFit

stiff legs are for hamstrings, if it's hitting your lower back you're doing it wrong.

  • The best back of all time. he has accomplished a thousand times more with his life than steroidsRDlosers will in an eternity.

  • the only thing that looks small are his arms

  • @iAmStrengthlyFit Have you ever done the exercise?

  • imagine leroy davis screaming at him in that public gym

  • Best bodybuilder ever...

  • If you feel it working your lower back then youre not doing it right dumbass.. you'll feel some tension obviously, but its not a move to work your lower back. It IS a hamstring lift. If the majority of the tension isn't there, then check your form cuz youre doing it wrong wrong WRONG!

  • I always thought Yates was foreign for some reason.

  • holy shit look at those legs, they're huge!

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU THINK STERIODS ARE FOR LOSER IS A DOUCH!

  • @eduardopapi94 hater

  • @a2ram how am i a hater? Bc i hate that phaggy time steriodsR4losers? Pls go........

  • @eduardopapi94 What is a douch? Dutch? Yes steroids are for the dutch. Pfft, the dutch.

  • @ShadowCrashed81 cool stroy bro tell it again

  • @eduardopapi94 What is a douch? Dutch? Yes steroids are for the dutch. Pfft, the dutch.

  • @ShadowCrashed81 I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for trolling, I can tell you I don't have trolling. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you stop and go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.
