@wawhiker no, brush around me was way too dry and it was way too hot out any way. it's alot harder hike than it looks on a map. my total time was just over 27 hours, minus 5 or 6 hours sleeping, thats alot of walking!
Wow, you were super brave sleeping on the ground like that with all the little monsters crawling around. Did you try a fire, or are you even allowed to? There are fire bans here already. With all the rocks, brush, and poison oak, you had a mess to crawl through. Super video Alan and thanks so much for bringing us along : )
Exciting episode Alan, cool little kit you got there..I like to have some more comfort, slept too many times on the ground (also during winter) ! beautifull deer you "shot" :-)
looks like it was going well. What kind of heat sheet is that? I used the one of cheapo ones up between Harwood and Baldy one night. It ripped to shreds on me...lol.
Hey Alan, looked like a tough night sleeping on that sand with an emergency blanket, your a brave man. Did you get much sleep? Cool shot of the dear at the start of the vid. What does that poison oak do to you if you touch it?
@ColinOutdoors i dont know if it actually works or not, but I did the less troud thing and ah, "wet the ground" in a circle around the spot I lay with recycled water. :-) There were small scorps every where and I got little sleep in and out type. the poison oak has an oil, it gets you as you or your clothes brush it. later when you either tie a show or wipe your face, it is delivered and is a rash, that spreads. Nasty stuff!
@PHARRAOH Glad we don't have that poison oak over hear then. Sounds like a good experience out there you had. Hope you have a great weekend Alan, take care.
Enjoying this one, and the roar of that river! Did you end up making a camp fire?
