You don't hear politicians or economists say much about that. What happened to the DEPRECIATION of all of the automobiles purchased by consumers over the last 50 years? The cars got added to GDP but the depreciation didn't get subtracted from anywhere. The economists only do that subtraction for the supply side. The people on the demand side are not supposed to notice. Have the politicians figured it out?
