I wish someone could find the real old, black & white Vavoom cartoons and post one of them! They were on Captain Kangaroo - as I recall.

Felix was not in the original cartoon as I remember.

But thanks for posting this! - When I spoke of Vavoom, my wife thought I was crazy, until she saw this!

I can't believe I found this. I even forgot that Vavoom was part of Felix the Cat. Only being in 3 episodes, I could see why. Me and my friends use to do this a lot when we were young, joking around. I think I remember in one episode he blows a hole through a mountain. It's been a long time..

This was one of my favorite shows when I was around 6 or 7. As an adult, it's not so good, I see I was better off watching Rocky and Bullwinkle or Popeye. But the characters were great. Poindexter, Vavoom, the Master Cylinder, who could ask for more?

I wonder why Vavoom never appeared in the Felix the Cat movie. I can imagine him using his voice to destroy the Duke of Zill's cylinder robots.

It probably would make things easier for Felix.

When I was a kid one of my favorite cartoon characters was Vavoom. I used to giggle my butt off when Vavoom did his thing, and my parents could never figure out what was so dang funny! I still have that slightly twisted sense of humor, just ask my wife.

40 years for me, too. When my kid brother was two or so, my mom bundled him up to go play in the snow with us. When she flipped the hood of his coat up, she chuckled and said, "look, it's Vavoom!"
