Just bought one this week, and it's freaking awesome! Just the right amount of features and wonderful. Obviously it's not like my Jeep for off-road but then, that's not the purpose of the vehicle. Short of Jeep off-road though, this thing is pretty stout.
Hello. I'm from Ottawa, Canada. I have 2008 Acadia SLT loaded. We started to have a problems after 2,5 years owing the car. I can't believe it the GM don't care about their future. My boyf and I so freaking mad. Every time it's rains car is leaking.
Great review. I really would love to find out about a comparison between the 2007 vs 2008 since I've heard so much negative towards 2007 and praises for the 2008. Personally, had a 2007, loved it, took the seats out and moved someone in one shot with their bed. BUT. The engine sounded horrible. I've has a 3.3 and 3.0 in medium sized vehicles and Acadia's engine in the 2007 sounded tin-like and straining. Any way loved the seating and way it felt when I drove it. Darth Vader filmed for ya?
People dont ever ever buy this junk. I work @ GM dealer and they have leaky roof problem, Engine problem and transfer case problem. I fix the everyday LOL. 2 years ago i worked @ Honda dealer and i hate fixing just brakes and tires.
I am curious if you were able to fit 4x8 sheet/s with the tailgate closed? I assume you would have to move the front seats up far enough to fit the 4x8.
I had some 2X6's in there too so I had the tail gate open. I can't remember if the plywood fit with the gate closed or not. I didn't have to move the front seats though. The plywood lays flat on the seats but there's no wiggle room.
the U.S. carmakers can dish out very good cars at much lower and fairer prices than all europe car makers and most japanese, they've good very good products, i'm from germany, and i like american cars a lot, especially the new ones that came out recently like the acadia, and the ones still to come
actually, Acura doesn't make an model with this much space, and the up coming 2009 model gets 1mpg improvements in both city and highway. That means with the 2 wheel drive Acadia, you can get 25mpg in a 7 passenger vehicle...that's quite good!
Want 7 passenger vehicle? Get a minivan. I had a Lincoln Navigator and after my second child I was hard press to get a minivan, so, we got an Odyssey and in few months It grew on us so much I'm not going back to SUV. Odyssey its fast, easy to drive, great for family, it has an upscale style, great quality, good price and resell value, more economical and has MORE SPACE inside than 90% of all SUV and CUV while retaining a good size outside and getting good mpg. 7 passenger SUV or CUV, WHY? :]
I won't argue with you on that, I think minivans are definitely the way to go over suvs, although I prefer a big wagon even more! (I've got a cool 01' E320 Benz wagon that got 27mpg on the last trip I took over 3,600 miles)
I'm just waiting for one of the automakers to create the "BMW 3-Series of minivans" with classic style, athletic handling, and good mpg...maybe even a diesel.
i honestly do not like this car, it's kinda ugly. and so cheap looking, i hate GM alot. Terrible cars, that aren't long lasting. For any car to buy, just buy Foreign.
Holy IGNORANCE! Just because a car is foreign does not make it better. GM's making alot of good products these days. and in some key area's that are often not mentioned, the imports are behind. For example, japanese v6's have worst gas mileage than domestic v6's and v8's, those japanese v6's often require premium gas also.
@blackdubsociety you're totally right. i dont see why more people dont just buy ford or GM these days. imports really arent any better now that, ecspecially GM, is stepping their game up big time. GM makes a great realiable car and now the interior is really coming through. Forget toyota or honda. buy a chevy, ford or dodge.
My co-worker drives an Acadia and it's so comfortable, even in the third row. I'm 5'11" and I was very happy there! She has the wicked red leather with a champagne exterior. The exhaust was quiet but it still sounds nice!
I like it better than my Mom's 07' MDX. It has amazing power but the one Mom got is a piece of crap Tech package. No heated rear seats or DVD, it sucks!
I have about a 3,800 lb boat that I haul arround on the weekends and when the weather just rocks, how well having driven this vehicle do you think it would handle that much weight? My Trail Blazer handles it fine, but I think its a little heavier duty than this. But on that note great vid.
yes it's perfect I think, I really like you showed internal space, it's my first view what happened when a man sited in Acadia 3nd row. I really hope you could show more detail about that

I can fit a 4X8 Sheet of plywood in no problem... It's been a good car for us at 1.5 years but MPG is only 18-20. Nav system is a little slow.

GMC is awesome, thats the reason its getting bankrupt.
AmitabhFan 3 years ago
why would that be the reason? They made this car to appeal to the mass and not get banktrupt. This is the exact same as the traverse but not as ugly
