  • lol we americans are all about finger food.

  • And I LOVE finger food!!!

  • Would you like to steal Independence Day too? :-) ....Guess who we declared independence FROM :-p

  • Um. . . aliens?

  • @samsarajade

..funny, I thought it was the British :)

  • @Rickyrab

So how does someone scouse? Isn't that what scousers do? :)

  • WANT.

    OM NOM NOM NOM.

  • Excellent!!!

  • Good job Tia! Looks yummy! You kids are growing!

P.S. Americans use canned pumpkin to make pumpkin pies :)

  • I have NEVER seen canned pumpkin here! My best chance is to make Pumpkin Pie at Halloween lol!

  • As a consumer of the leftovers I give your Thanksgiving food a big thumbs up. I used to make a sweet potatoe mash didn't you ever have it? They're good cut and roasted round the joint like parsnips as well.

  • Looks fun.

  • they're sweet potatoes here too: )

And Thanksgiving is pretty much just an excuse to stuff yourself here too lol... hope you had a nice one; )

  • what a lovely warm video.

  • LOL when Faith says Ukhhh!

  • lol, yep, that said it all! I guess sweet potatoes aren't her thing!

  • Yum! A good excuse for a feast. Great vid.

  • mrs jade , you put a genuine amount of effort into this video and the food preparation , 5 stars . JV

  • Thank You very much :D

  • I love yams/sweet potatoes! And they are so good for you too! Have you tried french fried sweet potatoes?? They are yummy too! :-) That was a very different way of doing the yams than I have ever had. In my family, we usually mash them with butter, brown sugar, cinnamin, and salt, then add marshmellows on top and bake until the marshmellows are golden brown. I'll have to try this new recipe...:-)

  • I'm going to try both those ideas-I think your way of doing the yams with marshmallows is more what John had in mind when he told me about them, but I found this recipe for them cooked in their jackets and thought I'd give it a go!

  • making me hungry

  • Don't worry, only 22 days til Christmas and the next pig-out! :D

  • What a delightful video.

Glad that you tried food from here.

I am subbing.... I think you were the advocate last month.

You are fantastic all the way around!

  • Thank You! Yes, I was the advocate in September :)

  • Much Love ...Travis

  • yams with marshmallows?

    whoa, really wanna try that

    happy leftovers weekend! =)

  • I enjoyed the leftovers! Got really stuck into the yams then :)

  • that was an interesting take on Thanksgiving :) If you try next year, I'll send you a recipe for green bean casserole and squash :)

  • That would be great!

  • Those stuffed mushrooms look yummy, I hope you saved me some!

Couldn't help but notice how Faith has grown up and her speech is pretty much adult speak now!

I'd like to try some thanksgiving food, however I think I'm far more inclined to a heaving roast dinner on Christmas day... ;) LOL

  • I'll make you some fresh! You're always welcome to come round and sample my food experiments. . . if you dare lol!

  • i'm with Faith! I'm thankful for cheese! (and of course my family & friends!) this was great! those looked yummy :-)

  • lol, according to Top Gear in America, the whole of Florida is addicted to cheese and puts it on everything lol!

  • mmm i do like cheese :-) but I don't put it on EEEEVERYTIHG ;-) just some things

  • good scran

  • Indeed! :)

  • Ah, the mushrooms did look delicious. Ive never eaten the sweet potatoes like that, but i made sweet potato pie and used the excess for sweetpotato walnut muffins. I still have som any leftovers, the Pie is making wear elastic waistband pants today.. LOL

  • Think they'll keep you going til Christmas? lol!

  • its refreshing to see someone trying american food im canadian my self so are foods are pretty much the same i dont think iv ever tryed english food no offence but some of it sound shorible

  • Like Black Pudding? lol!

Can't beat a good roast beef dinner with yorkshire pudding and gravy! Or Fish and chips (from the chippy, never quite the same when you make it at home. Although usually it's chinese takeaways that sell fish and chips, still a very English meal!)

  • Looks like everyone enjoyed their meal! It looked very yummy. Well except for I've never been a fan of sweet potatoes. However, the other day for the first time I tried a few sweet potato fries which were surprisingly good. They didn't seem to have quite so strong a sweet potato flavor.

  • I might try the fries! I have about 4 different recipes for sweet potatos now. The one I tried here was a little too sweet for me.

  • I was pretty lazy about it and got the frozen sweet potato fries:)

  • Loved the zooming at the beginning. I wonder if you had Nic working overtime behind the camera zooming on command ;) She did love the food!

Warm and lovely is the way I can describe this family video. God I want stuff mushrooms now. And don't worry, we've got 20 years before start 'gardening' lol

  • I was having a practice with the zooming to see if I remembered how to do it! I've been getting a little lazy with my editing lately lol!

I don't know if I will every sufficiently overcome my fear of worms to get into gardening lol!

  • You have every right, my dear Tia :) also, a great Southern side dish :))) I hope that you holiday was grand!

  • I'm going to try out some more recipes as I come across them! I KNEW there had to be more to American cuisine than MacDonalds! ;) lol

  • MUCH more! :) haha

  • Thanksgiving is SO much better with an English accent...haha...LOVE IT!

  • heehee :)

  • I celebrated Thanksgiving back in October, but even I like to celebrate the holiday in November by posting greetings on people's channels. Sweet potatoes, I love sweet potatoes...... now I'm looking forward to when Christmas comes along. :)

  • Ahh yes, I have learned from YT that Canadian Thanksgiving is earlier than American! But you know, you could fit in three Turkey Dinners if your as inclusive as I am lol!

  • Hey, that's a pretty good idea. I'll have to try to remember to do that next year. The more turkey, the merrier. :)

  • its late at night an now im hungry ,thanks lol, think i might give yams ago, not had them before, but for now im of for cheese on toast

  • Mmmm, cheese on toast-basic but irresistible!

I don't think I have any bread in the house :(

  • ive cut slices of garlick inbetween the cheese ,gona stink tomorow, didnt taste the garlick mutch though , tell me how were the yams?

  • Nice, but very very sweet!

  • hang on a minute a liverpudlian with no bread in the house, thats ilegal isnt it

  • LOL @ the gardening remark - watch it turn out to be fun, too.

I didn't know that about pumpkins over there. And however American that desert is or isn't, it still looks yummy.

    The entire meal looked delicious!

  • lol, I remember a staffroom talk about my colleagues not being into gardening until they hit 40! I'm just waiting for that switch to click lol!

I'm gonna try get motherreivers pumpkin pie recipe to try it a little before thanksgiving next year!

  • I love sweet potatoes baked like jacket potatoes with butter salt and pepper.

Marshmallows aughhh!! makes my teeth hurt! LOL

  • I think I may try the simpler version soon! I don't have a sweet tooth, the first taste of those marshmallowed yams was way too sweet for me-better the next day when I cut deep into them and balanced them with savoury.

But yeh, I think I shall try them with just butter salt and pepper ;)

  • Yes... yams are sweet potatoes. Happy thanksgiving Tia! It looks delicious!

  • yay! Google got it right! (pgew!)

Happy Thanksgiving, hope you had a good one Ken :)

  • ((hugs))

    *tori*

  • *Hugs* back!

Any recipe ideas for next year? :)

  • Sarah Palin would be proud! :)

Happy Thanksgiving gorgeous. I could almost taste it. Nicely done!

*more comments to come after I get back!*

  • Sarah Palin would go a step further than Zipster and say 'Those mushrooms would rock with a little Polar Bear meat in there!' ;)

Love you tons, I'd like to hear exactly how your family do their yams!

  • I would try almost anything once except for bugs and sea food, but the yams don't sound all too good.

The mushrooms actually look very good.

  • The yams were too sweet for me first time round, but today i had leftovers and I sliced right through to get a full taste instead of scooping off the top. I don't have a very sweet tooth, but balanced with savoury, the 'candied yams' were actually very nice, although very different to anything I'd normally eat! Worth a try if you're ever given the opportunity :)

  • Those mushrooms would ROCK with a little crab meat in there! Love you, baby!

  • Love you too! Hmm, crab meat? Well, recipes are made to be adapted! But are you really challenging PrincessDiana!? lol!

  • If they are too sweet, just top with a little butter, salt, and pepper next time!

  • It fill my heart with joy to share an American tradition with you, my friend! I loved the video and the beautiful wishes!!!! P.S. My pumpkin pies were awesome, but then, I digress.... Hee hee! Love you!

  • Mother, you are such a warm loving friend, I am so lucky to know you :)

(does that get me some pie? lol!)

When John was telling me some of the dishes traditional to have at thanksgiving he suggested I search your channel! I wonder, have you un-veiled your pumpkin pie recipe yet? I know you teased Furni with them, but don't remember instructions on how to make them!(if you'll share, I'll have a go at making one next October! Or I'll gatecrash your next TG if I can make it over to America lol!)

  • I feel lucky to know you, too :) Ah yes, you are always welcome to come over for some pie and coffee :) I have not yet shared my recipe with YouTube, but I just might share it with you :)

  • I'll give it a go if you will, and I wont let on what the recipe is ;) Videos are always a big help though!

  • Happy Thanksgiving Tia!

  • Hope you had a good one! I enjoyed experimenting :D
