So I'm confused... are these domestic hedgehogs spiky? and are their spikes like you see in cartoons, where you touch them and get quilled, or are they just like hard pieces of something that are uncomfortable to touch?

@Killjoyxtrm Only porcupines quills shoot out at you. It's actually quite hard to get poked by a hedgehog unless you pet it backwards or touch it less-than-gently while it's in a ball. When they're scared or nervous they curl into a ball and angle their spikes in different directions, you can either scoop them up carefully or use a blanket to help pick them up while they're like that. But normally, petting a hedgehog is even almost soft!
