Wednesday, December 21st (2 days ago) was officially the 1 year anniversary of the day I went 2 go see this show on broadway! & what's ironic is that the same girl who I took 2 go see the show last yr, 1 of my best friends, Leigh, & I hung out & it wasn't even on purpose. hahaha. as we were hanging out,she was in my room & was looking at pictures of us meeting the cast after the show last year & she said "Bethany, today is the 1 year anniversary of the day we went to go see American Idiot." :)

I was one of the lucky ones who got to see this show on broadway and meet some of the cast members afterwards. Fantastic show! Fantastic singing, dancing, & acting (Yes, there is a lot of acting in here. Most of the words are spoken by Johnny (John Gallagher Jr in this version. He's even more fantastic in person!) but there is A LOT of anger and sadness in this show and everyone else had 2 show the emotions in their body movements & faces.) fantastic cast!

@MJJHDMix well.. that's a kind of a hard questio to answer becasue there were some moments where Billie Joe performed in it, and some moments where he did not perform in it. I suggest you go to merbethmango and check out the show. It has Tony Vincent in it (he was the original St. jimmy in the musical!.) I personally think he did a better job at it than Billie although I love Billie as well.

@poppgozdawezel It really does grow on you. I saw this show a few months ago and, not surprisingly, there isn't much of a story to speak of. But the performances and the raw emotion they put into it is nothing short of astounding. I've seen dozens of musicals, but the energy in this show was something I had never felt before, and it was really eye-opening for me. There are definitely 'better' shows, in a technical sense, but there is nothing on Broadway like AI.

@guywhoputsupvideos It took me 8 months to get my parents to finally buy me tickets. 8 months ! and I always figured that if they did get me tickets, the seats would be last row in balcony. but back in december, my parents surprised me with 12th row orchestra (floor) seating ! I was basically pinching myself almost the entire time during the show. I just sat there in complete amazment that I was actually there , and 12th row ! The show is amazing & the cast is super nice in person! :)

@mariahrose210 Yeah it's very reminiscent of it - in fact the whole thing seems like it takes very heavily from RENT - although what doesn't? It was such a huge part of Musical Theatre history, and even RENT took inspiration from Hair. I love seeing how the genre evolves. This seems to take a lot of Spring Awakening (Mayer kept a good thang going with direction) and I reeeeally want it to come to London so I can see it lol!!!

@robbie0507 well it hasn't even opened technically in the US...so considering a run on broadway would be about 1 year and a 1/2 to 2 years...then the national tour hits and then if it's successful, they'll expand to other countries. spring awakening just hit the UK and it ended broadway in 2008 i believe and the US national tour is almost complete. so i'd say it'll hit UK around spring of 2013? please anyone correct me if i'm wrong!
