I love the kit! With the Legacy shells (maple poplar maple with re rings) the kit has a vintage Ludwig sound. The 14x24 kick can be boomy if you tune the resonate head fairly tight. However, with medium tension on both heads the drum delivers a great punch with the right amount of resonance and decay. I have a number of vintage Ludwig kits and they can be kinda hit or miss sound and construction quality wise but the new Legacy kits all sound great. The finish looks great in person also.

@captjfloyd I really think the sizes on this kit are classic rock all the way, considering trying to snag one of these kits, do you like the 14x24 kick? Would you consider it more open and boomy or does it have more punch since it's 14" deep.
