  • This dish is not traditional. You can use whatever sugar you would like. We just like brown better.

  • Dark. Generally speaking, light soy sauce is used for soups.

  • hi i made this not long ago for my food and nutrition class, and my teacher loved it. i would like to know also if it was dark or light soy sauce u used or should use. thnx from a happy subscriber :)

  • 美味しいとやさしいです!I'm gonna make it tomorrow! ありがとうございますトモコさん!

  • oishii! delicious! Do you have to use the mirin? I'm going to make this for a friend, but he is t-total (doesn't like alcohol).

  • Mirin is a sweetner. Try white grape juice with a dash of lemon or just some brown sugar.

  • I wonder, do you think this would work with tofu or would the tofu have to be fried in order to soak in the flavor?

  • Try atsuage or coating firm tofu in potato starch and frying it. Should be good.

  • So today I made this one for lunch (with pork because I don't really like the dark part of chicken). It is so simple, quick...and delicious!!! ありがとう!

  • :-)

  • can I do the same with pork?

    ヴィデオがとても面白い!本当にありがとう!

  • Yes of course. I would even go as far as beef, why not. Let us know how it comes out.

  • It will be great, if more detail can be provided

  • Cheers. Just taped two more episodes yesterday. One for Yakisoba and an aemono (salad).
