i remeber going to a church on nobel and chestnut, and in the basement they would always throw house parties, i still dj and im not really into the house anymore, u cant beat chicago 80s house music,JACK IT ALL NIGHT LONG.
Man, House was the soul of the Chicago underground. Without House the music we hear today would be alot different. Check out the video on the "History of House Music".
Holy shit you took my ass back and the Quality !! Dam seems like I jumped in a time machine and am back in the hood like it was yesterday hahaha! CHITOWN HOUSE theres only one! Mad Shot out to everybody who grew up listening to these sweet sounds ..... CHICAGOOOO THE STREETS ARE MEAN ! AND THIS AINT NO JOKE ITLL MAKE YOU CHOKE ! HAHAHAH
I remember the "Farley is #1" license plate that Farley had on his car he made a point of showing it off everytime he came to the record pool to pick up his vinyl from the record promoters. There will never be another "Hot Mix Five" It's great hearing these mixes again.
I'm no DJ, I grew in CHI-LAND, grew up on HOUSE!.. I like the trax's you use !...but theye'rin a F* order!...sorry cuz!...but i give you an A for effort!
@integmanr98 This is not a true oldschool longplay mix! This is something anyone can do with the right program! Back in the day dj's had to have talent now anyone can buy a program and call themselves a dj! There's no skill involved anymore, this is a phony computer edit mix!!!
@housemanchi like you I grew up on 1200's and vinyl. I would agree, if you have half a brain and know the right tracks, you could replicate this mix on a number of programs. Had I done it that way I probably would not respond to your comment. Because I mixed all of the tracks and edited them myself, I have to give myself credit where credit is due. Unlike a lot of computer jocks, I can blend a beat by ear and play vinyl and I would dare say much faster than most jocks.
Excellent job bud. You pretty much hit 'em all in this mix, and yeah, you're right about the vinyl. i retired from dj'ing for the same reason, kids gettin older, gettin' back into it without the vinyl sucks, but we gotta keep preachin' the house music from the day
I wish I had the tapes that were stolen from me when i was 18, I had it all, Chicago, Detroit, New York..... I'd kill that motherf@cker if I found him today lol Nah, But I would want to kick ass:) Peace All

I can see myself whipping my hair dancing as I "bounce my body to the box", LOL. Thanx posting!! TOTALLY PRICELESS. God Bless YOU.
love the songs you played, two things though. Vinyl is missing, and that's make a good deal of chicago, and the mix is way to high pitched. 130 bpm, no way man, old chigago stay true to 122 bpm. :)
@dnlbrb Thanks for the feedback. I do tend to play faster than most as I grew up half way between Chicago and Detroit. I was a big fan of Jeff Mills aka The Wizard from Detroit. He played a lot of Chicago House but at really high BPM's. I would agree, I miss Vinyl, I used to have crates upon crates and then sold it all when I was married with all my kids. Too expensive to build the collection back. The closest I can get is Serato on my 1200's. Still not the same =(
@djmpodcast Excellent job bud. You pretty much hit 'em all in this mix, and yeah, you're right about the vinyl. i retired from dj'ing for the same reason, kids gettin older, gettin' back into it without the vinyl sucks, but we gotta keep preachin' the house music from the day
I went to hear your podcasts, the music is nice but the levels in some of the mixes are clipping badly. Turn down the volume a bit. I know it's hard :D
Most of the recent ones should be good. Let me know if it is a recent one you had a problem with. If you use iTunes, you can adjust the eq settings. On some of them I had the eq set too high, my bad :) Thanks for listening. I hope you enjoy :)
Kickin' stuff. Memories of early 80's, college roommates from Chi. Remember he would always come back to school with some great mixes from BMX. That was the shit!! You definitely have that same vibe goin' on! I will subscribe to your podcast.
Oh man the old 1.2.3 now known as Jadinkas..how ever it's spelled.. do know it means #1 tho.. any how I remember the days of Eddie & Jobo being there..lol
And Chi21... memories.. the flashing disco dance floor and DJ Markski store across the street, on the corner was the greasy spoone open 24/7 .. I was luck I lived in between them both so i was able to stagger home...lol

so I'm the one sent here to announce
that you can't stop the house"
