Who the fuck said the Baby's Day Out Review Sucks? I just watched it and it was amazing as always. The bit where he calls for hair-plugs as he is timing a stupid scene in the movie is epic..
The Baby's Day Out review is less "important" than the Star Wars reviews, but in my personal opinion, it is the funniest. Not just the funniest RLM review, but the funniest THING that happened in 2010.
Every time I watch it (like 5 or 6 times by now) I end up in a fit of hysterical laughter when Plinkett starts losing his mind towards the end. I especially love the brain-squelching sounds, and all the "Fuck the pain aways".

I'm in the middle of part 2, and I think you should be made aware of some sad things I found out watching Star Trek with the commentary on: the engine room scenes & the trial & ice-base scenes were all shot on location, in the former case, in a Budweiser plant in Columbus, OH, as well as in a dairy. The producers actually wrote the character arcs with Star Wars in mind, that's why Kirk meets old Spock in an ice cave after being chased by a monster, and why Scotty suddenly had a cute sidekick.
I've seen a lot of haters about the "Baby's Day Out" review. It's just the logical next review for Mr. Plinkett to do since it is what the hooker put in his DVD player when she made her escape. His reviews are an ongoing saga. Only with much more talent and thoughtfulness than anything Lucas has put out in recent memory. I'm 1000% more interested in how this plays out than anything in the newest Star Wars abortions. The Revenge of the Sith review is certain to be epic, but all in good time.

In your review, I caught for a brief moment you said Twilight was a good film. Did I miss a moment of sarcasm or satire? Or am I just spiteful of awful writing, while the movie it's self wasn't that bad past my raging eye sockets? Did I miss the vomit educing acting of every teenage bastard on screen, or did the concept of a teeny bopper movie with vampires just make me bias?
In the case of Transformers, only a true Transformers fan (one who read the comics) can truly tear Bay's horror to pieces. If Plinkett is knowledgeable about TF lore, a review would be great, otherwise it would be pretty bland. Check out the fan-made adaptation of the War Within comics, its made on a tiny budget and blows away Bay's movies. The whole point of and appeal of the Transformers is that they are everymen.
I think it's strongly hinted at the end of this review that Sith is next..

Ummm, 677 thumbs up with only 19 thumbs down and it was a total fail? Your analysis of the physiological damage done by hitting the cage bars hard enough to bend them seemed pretty accurate. Remember, though, that there are two ends to this. If the gorilla could toss JM hard enough to do that damage to steel bars (which, as you pointed out, he couldn't) then the force would have ripped JM's arms off in the first place.

@SritaCaramelo I suppose your right. I mean, Avatar was predictable, but it really was about the visuals more than anything. I think Plinkett's gripe is always the visuals (namely special effects, making everything digital) have importance over story complexity. Admittedly though, I think where the Preq's screwed up, Avatar succeeded in the visual department. Heck, even I enjoyed Avatar, just got to let your brain melt a bit. Thus, I don't think there was as much to criticize in that review.
I don't get why people are surprised he reviewed this when he foreshadowed it at the end of the Episode 2 Review. If you people haven't noticed, his reviews uniquely have continuity.
Baby's day out definately not your best RLM - less of the insight, less of the Plinkett backstory and a bad choice of film. I know your Episode 3 will be great when it's finished though.
Reviewing a silly film like Baby's Day Out was a waste of time. Your reviews are good because they have interesting analysis and humor, and they pick apart successful films that some people think are good. Telling them why they're wrong is the best part. There's no point in reviewing a movie that nobody likes and everybody knows is stupid. Your best reviews are about the poorly written movies that were only successful because they were sequels. Spiderman 3 was fucking awful, do that one.

Ummm, 677 thumbs up with only 19 thumbs down and it was a total fail? Yeah sure, it is a little lame that's he's reviewing an obscure movie nobody cares about, but in a way it works with everything else he's done. It's like his lumping those movies that were supposed to be great together with this obviously terrible movie because that's what those movies deserve. Star Wars and Baby's Day Out are even made by directors whom at one time made good movies.

I watched the review and it was really disappointing.
It had some funny bits but a lot of its was just lame.
Rather then being cutting the criticisms seemed like you missed the point (For example, the problem with the gorilla scene was not a lack of realism, it was a lack of funny!)
If this was meant to be a joke or a subversion of your own reviews, it didn't work!
Stop wasting time and review episode 3 please!

@funkydanieluk "wasting time" for one it's his time to waste it's, second, you DO realize that this was made for the fans to give them a little something WHILE he works on the next big review, don't you? Just like the Avatar was made to tide the fans over untill he finished the Episode 2 review.
These aren't vlogs where some guy points a camera at himself and rants, they're written, researched, filmed, edited... it takes time to make a high quality near feature length production.

I take back what I said earlier. After I got over my petulant disappointment that it wasn't a movie I really cared about, it was still really interesting and funny. I have to say though that I'm really rooting for Nadine.

Your analysis of the physiological damage done by hitting the cage bars hard enough to bend them seemed pretty accurate. Remember, though, that there are two ends to this. If the gorilla could toss JM hard enough to do that damage to steel bars (which, as you pointed out, he couldn't) then the force would have ripped JM's arms off in the first place.

Hilarious review! Well done! Forget the impatient nerds here and review whatever you want - I'll watch it. Baby's Day Out looks awful - I'll never watch the actual film - but the baby sure was cute, and Cynthia Nixon was quite pretty when she was young (and straight).

i think it's *wink wink*, tongue-in-cheek, i.e. it satirizes people who take issue with things that are obviously stupid or banal (and some cases, purposely), to the point where critiquing them makes no sense. and perhaps a jab at all the people begging him to do more reviews of bad sci fi/fantasy/comic book flicks (which baby's day out is not). like, why waste your brilliant analysis on camp movies that don't take themselves seriously at all, e.g. baby's day out, or spiderman 3?

Let me also stress two important words. LEAD IN. As in, this review LEADS IN to ROTS. If you bothered to watch the end of the AOTC review, you'll understand how the Baby's Day Out review fits in. Recall the Avatar review, that was also a lead in. Jeez, I'd have hoped you whiners would have figured that out by now.

To review an obscure piece of trash like Baby's Day Out as a lead in to ROTS is pure comedic genius. @Draugoth sort of true, but he criticized the story when everybody knew it was going to be blue pocahontas... not saying it's the right thing to write about, but i don't think anyone went to see avatar waiting to watch a better story than the godfather 2 hahaha anyway, maybe it's the fact that there are so many wrongs in starwars prequels that those seem way better reviews in comparison LOL

@SritaCaramelo I suppose your right. I mean, Avatar was predictable, but it really was about the visuals more than anything. I think Plinkett's gripe is always the visuals (namely special effects, making everything digital) have importance over story complexity. Admittedly though, I think where the Preq's screwed up, Avatar succeeded in the visual department. Heck, even I enjoyed Avatar, just got to let your brain melt a bit. Thus, I don't think there was as much to criticize in that review.

Reviewing a silly film like Baby's Day Out was a waste of time. Your reviews are good because they have interesting analysis and humor, and they pick apart successful films that some people think are good. Telling them why they're wrong is the best part. There's no point in reviewing a movie that nobody likes and everybody knows is stupid. Your best reviews are about the poorly written movies that were only successful because they were sequels. Spiderman 3 was fucking awful, do that one.
