So, you loved the game until you found out it was an american counterpart to Ouendan, so it instantly became terrible and not worth playing? Japanophile, much?
If EBA is so terrible, then why did Oeundan 2 include the Agents and the Divas as playable characters, and copy the opening to the final stage?
Besides, it's better to think of EBA as a seperate entry in the series rather than an "americanized" Ouendan 1.
right, never change anything, so that cultural dissonance can punch everyone in the face with brass knuckles. Face it, the game would have been nothing more than a cult favorite if they just brought the original Ouendan over. by having popular English songs, they ensured that anyone familiar with them could enjoy the game.
also, by your logic, games that have actually been improved upon when brought to other regions, such as Doki Doki Panic (as SMB2) and Dissidia Final Fantasy are inferior.
What you don't get is that EBA basically IS a different game. Few people in America are familiar with all aspects of Japanese culture. Also remember that in America, cheerleaders are usually female. It's the whole cultural dissonance thing again. Just because something is popular in one country doesn't mean it will be everywhere else. Do you honestly think Nintendo should have left the game as is to please the 2000 or so mega-otaku like you who would have bought it, and lose money? That's sad.
It's stand-alone, by the same team, it's supposed to be American style, it's a SPIRITUAL SEQUEL, not Ouendan 2 at all. You're both half wrong. Chernobog only by omission, Sasuke by saying it's Ouendan 2 bastardized. The only reason they don't release EBA in Japan or Ouendan in America IS because of the difficulties of them. If the Ouendan team was allowed their trophy in Brawl, I'd say that America is fine with Ouendan, just not quite in the position to be receiving it. It'd get insulted.
It's strange... the rest of the game seems so much harder than EBA, yet Jumpin' Jack Flash seems so much harder than Ready, Steady, Go! For one, in this you've just got four back-to-back spinners, with nothing in between. In JJF, those four spinners are still there, but you've also gotta deal with rapid-fire 13-note combos in between each one, which means you have to stay on your toes constantly.
I used to love EBA, till I got Ouendan. When you compare the two, Americans get stiffed on the difficulty, but you have to admit 'jumpin jack flash' is a good song to play on EBA.
You guy's this this is harder than EBA? Christ, maybe I've just been playing this too much. Anyway, Ouendan has my favorite track list, but Ouendan 2 has ultimate superior scoring mechanic. EBA falls in the middle when it comes to me.
Am I the only person who found Normal harder than Hard? I don't know much about music, but it seemed like the Normal version was synced to some weird shit that wasn't what I could most prominently hear, so it was harder to follow - Hard seemed more in sync with the song.
uh, actually yes. It's the exact same game engine. The major difference is the music, which is entirely justified. Weeaboos just need to accept that 99.9% of Americans really don't care about J-Pop, for the simple reasons that a) people who don't know Japanese can't understand the lyrics, leading to b) those songs not getting airplay in America. If they localized Ouendan to the U.S. it would be a flop, pure and simple. The only people really interested in it have already imported/pirated it.
Very nice reply but you actually miss the point since we have a classic misunderstanding here. My sentence "Actually it isn't" was a reply to lamebrainvideogames' comment "This seams harder than the english one."
I love Ouendan and EBA and I'm well aware that they are basically the same games.
certainly, eba was easier then the japanese games imho, but i spent weeks on the last song of eba just to get hard rock mode, when i only had to try 2 times for each ouendan game
you cant directly SAVE a video but when you cleared a stage and the results come up dont press the forward button. rather press the OTHER button to view your replay.
You can't replay save but after you finish a song click the button on the bottom left. It'll show a replay. But you can only see it after the song. When you leave, you can't see the replay again. So that's why the stylus isn't used.

I like EBA until I learned that Nintendo decided to Americanize it, then I decided to learn that Nintendo loves Americanizing things -.-
Theyre like the 4Kids of the gaming world.
If its Japanese or doesnt suit thier taste, they edit it way too much. Just to suite an American audience. Tsch.
Ready Steady Go is an awesome song, better than...that one American song anyway.
Gotta love it X3 And on the FMA opening lol

No, Im not a Japanophile, I only think that games shouldn't be altered.
Why do you think, in general, games sell less in the US than in Japan?
Because for one, half of the American games are based on movies. And two, they alter things too much.
And no, I think of it as Americanized version of Ouendan.

Exactly - they feel the need to change everything.
Sure, it wouldve sold less, but it wouldve been better.
I can understand them changing the songs-but they changed EVERYTHING but the gameplay.
They changed the characters, and the stories.
It's basically a whole other game, they couldve at least let Ouendan be released as well as EBA.
But no, we can't have anything that might not sell well even though games based on movies are absolutely horrible, as well as "imagine diva" wtf?

Amo questo gioco e questa canzone... ma penso non faranno Ouendan su Wii, almeno non con questo sistema di controllo... sarebbe impossibile!!!
I love this game and this song... but I think there won't be any Ouendan on Wii, not with this kind of control... It would be impossible!
