The retired naval officer is a bit of a cliche... even for that generation and time period. The type of person they met was probably in his mid-30's... and you would have trouble recognising him as military. But that is neither her nor there. The number of CIA/DIA officers involved was suprisingly low... and they were mainly communications specialists. The actual direct action officers were less than 20. They had rudimentary cell phones and suitcases of cash.
