Love the video, don't mind these iddiots. I'm almost certain they don't know about the double limit on brook trout because there's such an abundance of them and their an invasive species, so even if you didn't release all of them it would be fine. Props on releasing them though.
Hey zandertt, thanks for this great video. You guys really did an amazing job putting it together. Sorry for all the racist idiots here. It really makes me depressed reading those comments...
hey man...great video...I hope you guys were handling all those brookie guys with wet hands (the first dude didn't look like he did)...they're beautiful, I get em up here in mass all the time with my little bamboo fly rod...if you use dry hands and get too much of their natural slime protection off em, they might have some trouble with infection later on...
Great video. The pond that we fish in is a brook trout pond in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate NY. It's great to see the brookie fishing in Yosemite. Nice looking brookies there. Come fish the adks sometime. Check out some of the brookie videos on our site. Our brookies are a little different looking than yours in Yosemite.
You should always wet your hands before handling a brook trout. Because they have a coating on their scales that will get taken off by your hand and will die of infection.
i fish somewhere in lewis county ny a secret place on my own land we catch so many brookies its not even funny and im only 13 and this is how i fish them haha i donuse high tech gear i use a crappy pole one of those really simple button ones i use cheap line and a really small hook and aworm and i catch tons!!!!
Nice video! If you want to catch a lot more brookies, go fishing in the morning before the sun shines on the water because trout are cold water fish. You will catch a lot more.
I'm with you, fly fishing for them is awesome, especially the dry fly action. We did the video and article on conventional spinning just to highlight the easiest way to get them, but your absolutely right, and ultralight fly rig for these fish is exceptional.
Awesome video, those Panther Martin spinners are money! Are there any lakes that you can drive to rather than hike to that you can catch decent sized Brookies? Love the site, you guys should review more ultralight trout rods.

I respect your decision to release the fish but you're missing one of the most rewarding parts of fishing in my opinion.

What ype of rod was that? I've been looking for a lightweight 3 piece rod for backpacking, but I haven't found many.

You should try to fly fish for brooks
i can tell a difference between that and an ultralight. I normally catch about ten more fish and catching a fish on a fly rod is always more fun.
