  • I ordered the Airfix 1/72 scale Spitfire Mk.Vb from their website a while ago.. Today I got the delivery, but what they sent me was the 1/24 scale Spit!!!!! Much as I LOVE paying only £5.83 for a kit worth between £50 - £65, it will go back immediately.. it is MUCH to big for me.. :) :) Trust Airfix, the man I spoke to laughed his head off.. :)

  • @BasicModelling Oh go on, stick it in your stash! Airfix won't miss it! ;)

  • @MakingModelsAgain I have no space... the box is MASSIVE!! Taking a walk down to the postoffice with it now.. easy come, easy go, and all that!! :)

  • Brilliant video :) You must spend ages on the editing side of things! Can't wait to see the two kits built!!!

  • As usual for you, a nice video with an excellent editing. Thanks!

  • @staredsky Thank you! Photo montages are great to experiment with new effects and techniques!

  • All I can say is 'Good luck with that lot'!! :) :) It looks a superb kit, but I think I'll stick to my classic old Heller version in 1/72.. ;) ;) I certainly do not envy you that build... but I am much looking forward to see the finished result..

    (sometime in 2014??) :)

  • @BasicModelling I may manage to get them unpacked by 2014. That's all I'm going to promise at this stage! ;)

  • My son will hopefully drive us to Hannants in a week or two, he wants to see the place, as he has never been! I hope to get an Academy 1/72 B-17 G 'Flying Fortress' & also some resin seats for my 2-seat P-47 G Thunderbolt, if they're still in stock when we get there! The resin kit I bought (oh yes) didn't come with seats, they must have been left out!? :( I hope to get the model displayed at the new Boxted Museum, in due time.. they have shown interest as it was a Boxted based plane! :)

  • That was way over my head - but it's a plane so I guess it would be! They sell a similar kit in our £1 shop - plane and catapult but they come ready assembled apart from fitting the plane on to the rubber band.

    Good luck with the builds

  • @MrRandomWritings Well I am resin the bar with this set and I'm sure it's not going to be plane sailing.

  • @MakingModelsAgain I'll be glued to your channel with a bottle of plonk and some crisps and canopies

  • @MrRandomWritings Quite a combo. May lead to the floats for both of us!

  • @MakingModelsAgain Indeed, but, gastronomically speaking, I never consider cause and effect because I rarely remember what I eat - perhaps I should keep a diary here!

  • Keen on to see the building reviews! :) 5****!

  • @tankman13p66 It may be a while before we see anything approaching a finished kit with these two, but as they say: "The best of things take time!" ?????

  • Wow, what a fabulous upbeat and energized vid. Great job!

  • @damncranky666 are we watching the same thing? all I ever see here is slideshows with music ...no "vids"

I'll say this is a step up tho .. atleast.this one has words

  • @TheRocketSilo I feel that this particular subject matter - models in general - lends itself towards the slideshow format as opposed to the 'motion' variety of video, as you can show or convey more detailed information in a shorter time than have some old fart babbling on at length about the size of his cockpit. On my other channel, I have 154 vids of which only one is a slide show, so the format is content derived. And here's me worried that I used too many words in this one! hehehe....

  • @MakingModelsAgain Hear hear!! :)

  • @TheRocketSilo Also, I'm quite happy with the size of my cockpit. It's 1/32 scale, after all! ;)

  • @MakingModelsAgain ...lol

  • @damncranky666 Thanks! I often worry that the clips go by too fast as I try to edit in time to the beat of the chosen track. So blame JORISMA! ;)

  • awesome kits

  • @ModelloursWorkshop And a tad scary, having never made a full resin kit before. I am currently building a 1/32 Bf109E-4 in which I'm using the CMK full engine set and an Aires cockpit to replace the kit parts and they are both resin, so that's good practice and I'll probably do a 1/48 F4U Corsair before I tackle the Arado and I have a lot of resin replacement parts for that too, so that will further hone my, achem, skills!

  • @MakingModelsAgain i know what you mean ;) i have a couple of kits i fear to start LoL
