  • Awesome video. Great tips.

  • HEY HEY FELLOW ANGLERS, JP NOT SURE IF U RESPOND TO THESE QUESTIONS OR IF ANY OTHER ANGLERS ON HERE COULD TELL ME THE NAME OF THE SOFT PLASTIC MINNOW BAIT JP USES IN THIS VIDEO...ITS AT THE 3:50 MARK ON THE VIDEO...I CAN'T SEEM TO FIND IT ANYWHERE..THE ACTION I LOVE AND WOULD LOVE TO PICK UP A PACK OR TWO.......ANY HELP?....AND THANKS FOR YOUR TIME....HAVE A GREAT FISHING SEASON

  • lol thiers no tail :D

  • Love that soft calm release! Great show

  • holy shit thats the biggest smallmouth ive ever seen.

  • I love the sound of a fish pulling drag with braided line!

  • gr8 lure

  • ok say that i cant afford all these different roda and reels what would be a good set up for everything, fishing all deffierent kinds of covers. anyone please help

  • @gettingschoold thanks a bunch!

  • That was the sickest smallmouth ive ever seen at the end of the video.

  • whats a good rod and reel combo to fish soft plastics, so that you can cast the plastics a good distance? anyone that knows please respond! thanks!

  • @Youngman104 : depending on the cover you are fishing... with sparse cover it is tough to beat 10 to 15 lb braid on spinning... 6'8" to 7'0" medium to medium heavy rod... use fluoro leader if in clear water... it makes a difference.

  • @Youngman104 probly a mediume or light action rod that is deasently long

  • whats the song name at beggining plz tell me???

  • I luv ur videos JP, and I was watching this one and wondering if u have any specific jerkbaits u like to use for weightless or weight added

  • Are you trying to sell polarized glasses? Will regular sun glasses work? Why do they help?

  • @PS3KICKSXBOX : Not trying to sell glasses bud, polarized glasses are designed to cut the glare on the water allowing you to see better. Regular glasses will not help you at all.

  • @GettingSchoold yeah my bro told me that yesterday when we went bass fishing. He has a pair where do they sell them and for about how much?

  • @PS3KICKSXBOX : You can spend anywhere from $20 to over $200 depending what you want. A decent pair can be as cheap as $75 bucks. The cheaper they are, the more distortion and less UV protection you will get. When picking a color, look for green, yellow or rose for good contrast.

  • @GettingSchoold Oh and also if your ever in Arizona,Make sure and stop at Roosevelt lake!!!They have HUGE catfish and HUGE bass.!Thanks for the info.

  • @GettingSchoold wrong more money doesnt mean better UV protection. you may get better clarity from the higher priced glasses but you can buy a dollar pair of glasses and get 100% uv protection. They dont even have to be polarized to get uv protection polarizing just removes glare.... I know because i sell them and I dont own a pair!and guess what, still catching fish... this is the least important thing when it comes to fishing. so saying its not possible without glasses is a joke at best.

  • So is there an advantage of soft jerbaits over paddle tail or curly tail plastics?

  • @masterknaster : the soft jerkbaits excel when looking for a slower presentations and a more subtle approach. Colder water and less aggressive fish are prime for soft jerkbaits.

  • I am thinking of using braid on my "finesse" rod. Would 10-15lb braid work well for wacky rigs, finesse carolina rig, tubes, small texas rigs, jerkbaits, small finesse-weightless jigs. Would the bass be able to see the braid? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • hey jp why braded line

  • @canaidianfisherman i kno im not jp, but braided line has super low diameter, 8 lb test braid is like 1 lb test mono, so u can use a rly high power braid and have it at a normal diameter, or use the same power but low diameter for longer casts, plus braid has no memory, casts better i think, and NO STRETCH, which is a super for hook sets, u barely have to jerk ur rod to get a good hookset, in my experience of snags, the flouro leader would break before my main line braid, hope this helps

  • do you know were i can buy that jerk bait its awsem!!!

  • @mcoizdabom cabelas, bass pro shops, or any pro fishing shop, walmart, and all those stores usually dont have them, =[

  • awesome video, I'm learning about finesse this winter, cause im good with search baits cranks / spinner bait / swim baits i was wondering about Polaroid lens color, someone said above what kind do you use. I fish only with fish gillz that are amber color, do you recommend using a different colored lens for clear water/stained/ or down right chocolate milk, any specific color lens that are going to be better for those types of conditions.

  • @s4il : I have narrowed my lens choices down to Mossback Green. They really work well in all conditions and water clarity.

  • What brand of glasses are you wearing and how much did it cost?

  • @SifuZeemore Those are Solar Bat Mossback Green lens glasses. I think they retail for around $80

  • Hey great vid, weightless worms are one of my favorite baits. I have a question though, what type of knot do you use to attach your leader to your main line? I have a similar setup and I hate the feel of the knot going through the guides, it doesnt go through smoothly. Is there a way to fix this?

  • very nice video, I don't try alot of weightless lures for bed fishing but I guess it would be a decent technique.

  • met him and talk to him alot at basspro...hes hreat great persanality unlike most pros and like vandam and bill dance

  • i have a question....i fish at a local park pond...and can catch bass in the morning pretty easy...but in the evening i cant get em to bite on any of my lures....this used to not be a problem but now i have a job and cant fish the mornings...so i was wondering what would u recommend i try

  • @pewpscoop ...had the same issue...ever try a lipless crankbait/rattletrap, if no luck then a buzzbait....in the evening i found that something that "ratlles" works well for me, if still no bite more to a diff part of the pond...my 2 cents

  • @akrivosdiavolos73 ive tried a lipless crank and caught one small bass so ill try that....kinda small pond ive fished the whole thing

  • @pewpscoop ....my only last resort if NOTHING WORKS is live nightcrawlers...or live Minnows....but I dont like using live bait unless im icefishing....

  • Do you got tips on fishing Fast currents? I see smallies and large mouth all the time in the river I fish at but it's hard to make a good presentation to them

  • i didnt know you were on youtube im recording you on my tv now im subbed

  • hey brand of lure were those fluke looking baits from,,,cause they looked killer

  • @xXcam0manXx : That fluke style lure was a Still Hunt shad... great looking bait with incredible action

  • looks like a huge sung=fisH!

  • patience does not roll with this guy when it comes to fishing. see how fast he is reeling them in and espicially when he is baitcasting with like 1,000 pound braid this guy definately has no patience... he is a great fishermen tho very good helpful videos one of my faves

  • @golfer15963 - Bwahahhahaha... yup, I do like to rush them but keep in mind I was using 8 lb braid with 8 lb Fluoro leader. It's just the tournament fisherman in me... gotta get them in the boat!

  • what is the rod that you were using?

  • @omgullette - G Loomis Bronzeback GLX - 6'10" medium Power

  • what rod were you using?

  • JP!!!!! sweet vid nice smallie

  • Dude, what's up with that last smallmouth? Crazy looking! Big beast though.. nice job!

  • That was the freakiest Smallie I have ever caught... it was built like a cinder block and fought really well. The most amazing thing was that it had a mouth as big as a Largie!
