Anyway, its been awhile since I've seen the vid and I work for a driving school that's using this lot now. Lol I was there today helping set it up and I was like where the hell do I know this lot from... anyway just thought id mention it. I can't wait to look back at my old vids lol

  • Oh and for the record.... that clutch made 200 passes last season almost half of them on nitrous launching at 4500 RPM... only started slipping at the end of the season... just another reason to go to a Stalled C4

  • They are at almost 6000ft elevation, even an LS1 is slow at that elevation. LS1 is a good engine but is a hell of a lot more expensive than these mustangs. The mustangs have their good spots and so do Camaros and the like. Mustangs sound better and look better and are more fun to drive. LS1's are faster and respond better to mods. I have had both cars and those mustangs don't suck.

  • The green stang guy looked like he either tried going from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd in the middle of the burnout and thats why he stopped and then he realized it wouldn't burn in that high of gear. He went and pulled away into a donut but obviously his trac-lok is worn out so it did a one tire fire.

    Nice stangs though, good products if they are still taking that abuse after 126k and 159k miles.

    BTW to the OP, what gear where these burnouts in?

  • mxt2s you are exactly right, and one of the few people on this site that know what they are talking about.

    They were both in first gear, matt's gt (the green one) has had over 150 track passes on it, and so the rear end is worn out. Matt's car is getting a 408W with a c4 with a big stall and tranny brake, and my car is getting a full pi engine with comp 270's and a big intake and port and polished heads.

  • Nice, I'd love to do a PI engine myself. I was thinking about putting the heads and intake on my car and get some Comp Cams or Crower Stg 2's but with 114k miles I don't know if I want to invest the time and money into the top end. Maybe I could find a nice low mile engine to put in my car, time will tell.

    Isn't that green one doing like high 12's at 5800ft? Not bad, how many miles do your engines have currently? Are they still holding up?

  • yeah, these things run forever though. mine has 160k now, and his 135k engine blew up because the heads were put on with a paper towel in the oil gallery in the head so it was starved for oil.

    my new engine has 27.5k on it, but it wont go in until this one blows, and so far its running great. Get some pi cams.

  • Wow, You must really be White Trash if you think GM makes Mustangs, ever hear of "Ford Mustang," and there is a reason why there are so many Mustangs around because they are so popular which also led "GM" to stop production of the Camaro in 2002.   • They weren't as impressive as I would have liked either but they were the testing years of the 4.6. You can't say forget the 5.0. Even if you hate ford you know the 5.0 was a great motor. haha

    And yes, I dont like Ford, but I do like the Windsors, and the 5.0 was a wonderful engine. BUT if it was between getting a 302 or a 351[I think the Fords are 351?] I would go with the 351. And you barely see any Big Block Fords.... Id love to see more of them!

  • That's correct, because the 99-04 4.6's have whats called PI (performance improvement) which was a better flowing intake, better heads and better cams. These swaps have become very popular now, and my car (the white stang) is getting a PI intake, and pi cams in the near future.

  • Why not get something better then Ford parts? Im not big into the Ford stuff but im sure you could get some comp cams, afr heads, trick flow intake maybe? Unless the Ford parts are super cheap, which I bet they are if you get em used.

  • Yeah, id love to have a P51 lower intake, comp cams 270's but then id need new heads, and thats lot of money to swing right now, especially because i have college in the fall.. that will come eventually tho.. but i can get the intake and cams for about 150, so it will be a good 35 horsepower with not much expense or budget.

  • Uhh, those aren't Windsor motors, those are 1st gen Modular motors. Known very well for crappy power output. Windsor motors are solid as hell OHV push rod engines known for easy part swap ability and easy power output. Get your facts straight before talking about a motor you seem to know nothing about.

  • actually the Modular motors are the future my friend. If they were crap they wouldn't still be around. Must stronger than any 5.0 and I own a 5.0. The cobra block alone can handle 1000 hp out of the factory so when you say crappy i want to know what facts you read because crappy is nowhere near a 4.6 Modular. If anything, they are fords future.

  • I was talking the first series of the modulars (eg. 96 Mustang). I never said the motor itself was crappy, just the factory power output. Hell, I'd love to own one of the new 3v modulars.

  • They are sticky nitto 555's so he had a hard time being able to take off in second gear. and yes, it was POSI, all mustang GT's have it. and no, it wasn't clutch smoke, its a FRPP king cobra.

  • he didnt take off in 2 he started in first then shifted to second and you could hear the motor goin and the clutch slippin...it could be something minor like a throw out bearing causing it not to spin in second...even with nittos it should spin nad your wrong all mustangs do not have posi they have limited slip?? the 05's and up may have it but i doubt it and it clearly isnt posi when he went to do the 1st donut and both wheels werent spinning

  • Yea he started off in first, and then grabbed second. He didn't shift into second fast enough. The car is perfectly fine. Yes it does have it. Look at the video. Pause it. It's really easy to see. And yes, look at 28 seconds you can see both tire marks. All GT's have closed diffs

  • Posi-trac is GM. All mustang GT's are sold with limited slip. It is the same thing but the ford version. You can get locker rear ends but i only recommend it for drag racing.

  • That is correct. I think ford calls there Trak-lok or something stupid, but everyone knows it as posi trac. All GT's do have it. And once again, you are right, don't get a locker unless you are drag racing, they are NOT street friendly.
