les differences concernent les bois utilisés: peuplier pour la 555, aulne pour la 7v, l'accastillage et le vibrato noir pour l'une , doré pour l'autre. la 7v a l'arbre de vie sur tout le manche, il s'arrête à la 12eme case pour la 555. il y a certainement une difference de son à cause des bois utilisés. le mieux est de les essayer dans un magasin.

hi, for that video i used a digital camcorder, and thus recorded the video and sound at the same time . for the other vids, i'm using a webcam which records the lead guitar sound + video (you just have to select the correct mic source). after, i try to sync the avifile + the backing track with windows movie maker ... but it's not really accurate ... maybe there's a better way of doing, but i don't know how to do. if somebody knows, any tip is welcome :-)
no, i'm not using a mic, i'm using the toneport. when you configure your webcam, you can select the webcam's mic, but if your webcam's driver enable it, you can choose the toneport as an audio source, that means the webcam records an avifile with the video and with the sound coming thru the toneport. all you have to do after, is using a software to mix this avifile with your backing track (mp3). i use windows movie maker for that purpose. if you need more informations, send me a private mail.

awsome dude, does is the pickup electronixs hole routed on the back and the pickguard is for looks on the front, because it is like inposible to wire a fender with a pickguard.
not sure to understand your question. the plug is on the side of the guitar, under the belt. the pickups are mounted on the pickguard, with all the electronic stuff.

No but I will have a listen now. I have watched the drummer from Divine Heresy, Tim Yeung? Wow, I have no idea how anyone can play the bass drums as fast as he does. It almost seems impossible yet he does it.
I used to think that Steve Vai was special. Now I realise that everybody can play this song like him. I've just watched about 7 people do a great job at it so it can't be that hard.
i agree, no one can play it exactly, even steve vai. when you watch the vids from steve , he changes notes here and there. but i mean with practice, this song is accessible to anybody. sure it will be easier when you play since 20 years rather than 3 years. futhermore, having big hands (like steve)is usefull. mine are small and i'm in pain in a few parts of the song, so i try to do it my way. the secret is practice, practice, practice :-)

au fait encore quelques petites questions: comment tu as chopé à peu près le même son que lui? La guitare est aussi une six cordes normale? Pour la sitare derriere tu as utilisé une sitare électrique comme steve vai ou bien simplement un sampling?

hi, you can plug any wha pedal, or whammy, distortion or whatever you want with the toneport. it sounds great for recording on a PC, but pretty poor plugged into a guitar amp. maybe it would sound good plugged into a power amp but i didn't tried. i also own a "big amp" :-) i play with an ADA mp1, a line6 mod pro, a TC-electronic Gmajor and a mesa/boogie 50/50 power amp ... sometimes life is beautiful :-) thanks for your comment.
i don't know... my family and friends offered it to me for my birthday :-). all i know, they got it on ebay US (i'm from France) and the jem was already used but in really mint condition.

the rg550 is a great guitar, with a very confortable neck. i changed the pickups on mine, a duncan screamin demon (george lynch) on bridge, and a duncan 59 on neck.
i'd take the jem, cause she's more versatile ... but the rg550 has a greater tone for metal ... the screamin demon is a good pickup, you can have a very high gain with lot of distortion, and if you play slightly, you can have a cleaner sound, great for arpeggios.
the toneport is fully compatible with pod 2.0 and pod xt,xt live. if you import a tone that needs an extra model pack, gearbox replace the missing effect or amp with a similar effect/amp, so you have to make a little adjustement. otherwise you can buy the model pack from the line6 site. actually i don't own the extra model pack but most of the tones i use come from the customtone :-)

And, you have to understand that Vai has come up with the ideas and has composed this song. That's the harder part.

merci pour ton commentaire :-) comme tu as pu le voir je ne suis pas un pro, je fais de la musique en touriste :-) je fais juste 2 concerts par an, pour mon club de karate. on joue du ac/dc en passant par pink, U2 muse ou obispo ... qu'importe le vin, pourvu qu'on ai l'ivresse :-)

hey man i own a line6 toneport ux2 just like you!and i wonder if i can buy any wah pedal i want!i wont have any problem??it's so simple???

hi, you can plug any wha pedal, or whammy, distortion or whatever you want with the toneport. it sounds great for recording on a PC, but pretty poor plugged into a guitar amp. maybe it would sound good plugged into a power amp but i didn't tried. i also own a "big amp" :-) i play with an ADA mp1, a line6 mod pro, a TC-electronic Gmajor and a mesa/boogie 50/50 power amp ... sometimes life is beautiful :-) thanks for your comment.

i don't know... my family and friends offered it to me for my birthday :-). all i know, they got it on ebay US (i'm from France) and the jem was already used but in really mint condition.

i use a line6 toneport ux2 with a patch found on customtone, but mainly the tone comes from the guitar itself.

the rg550 is a great guitar, with a very confortable neck. i changed the pickups on mine, a duncan screamin demon (george lynch) on bridge, and a duncan 59 on neck.

i'd take the jem, cause she's more versatile ... but the rg550 has a greater tone for metal ... the screamin demon is a good pickup, you can have a very high gain with lot of distortion, and if you play slightly, you can have a cleaner sound, great for arpeggios.

Did you "translate" the line 6 edit tones to gearbox or what?°°

the toneport is fully compatible with pod 2.0 and pod xt,xt live. if you import a tone that needs an extra model pack, gearbox replace the missing effect or amp with a similar effect/amp, so you have to make a little adjustement. otherwise you can buy the model pack from the line6 site. actually i don't own the extra model pack but most of the tones i use come from the customtone :-)
