  • Just have to say, the idea behind homeopathy isn't that the more deluded a substance is, the more potent that substance becomes, it's more like the logic behind a vaccination; IE, introducing small mounts of X will get your body's natural immune system going. i'm not saying it works, I'm just saying, that was a miss characterization of it.

  • Because if you step inside the Pearl....you could find Captain Jack Sparrow.

  • Did this lady try to tell Elvis Presley how to sing?

  • @bddc201 How did you know?! XD

  • Poor woman, he's laughing at you, not with you. :P

  • 3:00 = comedy gold

  • I should've been filmed from 4:00 to 5:00. I couldn't help it. My mouth was open as widely as it possibly could while my head was slowly, but helplessly dropping to my keyboard. HOW can anyone really BELIEVE such things?!

  • WHAT THE FUCK IS SHE SMOKING LoL

  • quacks got to earn a living too? we don't want them on social security, hehe

  • How is this woman not hyena-laughing at shit coming out of her own mouth?

  • lol, sorry, poor lady, couldn't help but laugh at Dawkins cynicism in this. justified as it is, that woman was crackers. lol

  • some people are just supid....hopefully they will die thanks to relying on triangles in their dna and will not spread in population...

  • OMG, the moment she mentioned Atlantis, I burst into laughter...

  • @avrahams1 is not there laws agaist a fraud?

  • "I know what your thinking 'this woman is way out'" LOL!!! 4:44

  • not every alternative method of healing is bad.

  • @ffafii Even if we accept this baseless assertion as true, which I don't, it doesn't follow that they are good.

  • @TomVodkaCollins

i meant healing with food as a better alternative for medicaments.

  • How about he attacks the fucked up medical industry and their unbelievable lies and mistruths about healing. Why doesn't he talk about how the cure for cancer has ALWAYS existed within our bodies?

  • First of all, the medical industry is fucking scam. They are NOT curing of disease, they are (horribly) managing disease. I usually like what Dawkins has to say, and I agree that shamans and BS ritualistic claims of miraculous healing are ridiculous. The problem is. The medical industry is an industry of unnecessary chemical drugs, surgeries, and down right MURDER.

  • THERE IS A GOD! ...oh sorry, damn dyslexia, I meant dog.

  • So... Dawkins has been turned into an Atlantean?

It would be AGONY for me to sit and listen to these imbeciles without calling them out on their bullshit.

  • I love how he points out Chackras, it's all bullshit for sure. I want to get the chackra symbols as a tattoo down my back because it looks cool.

  • the most obnoxious, half-baked and offensive documentary I've ever watched. Hey maybe I should make a documentary about Pol Pot, Hitler and Stalin and show how they all connect to the same depraved, materialist atheism that is the enemy of humanity.

  • Thanks for uploading! I like listening to Richard explain his points, well thought layout and great production quality. Thanks again!

  • OMFG THE GOLDEN FLOWER SUN BEAM!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!

  • She is trying to teach an Evolutionary Biologist about DNA?

  • this video should just be entitled "bullshit"

  • @motorheadbanger90 I'm not sure if you know, but there is a show called "Bullshit" which is a more American version of this show that includes a lot more ad hominem.

  • @TheGildedStar I know...Penn and Teller. I've seen every episode on Netflix

  • 2:13 - 3:22 That's what bullshit sounds like

  • more like scambala.

  • Funny how people like the lady at the start think that they can prove to a REAL scientist things about DNA. Seriously. I wouldn't tell Stephen King how to actually write a horror book. I wouldn't tell James Cameron how the filming of The Terminator actually happened. Just like this person shouldn't be claiming to know hilarious things to a real scientist who has spent his life reasearching the subject. Of course, we should challenge Dawkins and everyone else, but seriously. Be reasonable.

  • lol Alter DNA? ha ha ha ha. How many people really believe that? Does she believes her own BS? Even if she could alter DNA chances are it would be a negative change. For example, I really CAN alter DNA but I am dyslexic and altering DNA into NDA has no health benefits whatsoever and it tends to knock a few points off all the papers I turn in for grading.

  • How does he not burst into laughter when she does her little DNA upgrade on him?

  • @rossmetacraft Because he's a pro

  • You know you've fucked it when you try and lecture Dawkins on DNA

  • @norsw Especially when you start talking about Atlantis.

  • What a bunch of new age crap. I'm surprised Dawkins kept a straight face.

  • @HolyEggRollys if new age stuff makes people feel good, even if its just placebo, is it really that bad?

  • @thecrooksareinoffice New ageism possesses seemingly extraordinary and unjustified supernatural claims-as well as incoherent content. The thing is, it is mainly composed of a badly thought out jumble of pseudo science, superstition, and bits and pieces picked almost at random from other religions.

The New Age movement has a widespread reputation for accepting many different spiritual doctrines. Many assert things that are every bit as extraordinary as any traditional religion.

  • @thecrooksareinoffice Pretty much the movement speaks about the way things should be, rather than the way things are. The problem with the ''NA movement" is that it is just modernized superstition.

Lets just dump superstition and get into reality, it is so much more useful. While NA therapy can be satisfying, the same results can be surely obtained by normal medicine.

  • 'life expectancy doubled in less than 50 years' ?? so people used to die in average when they reached 35 years old ? I think dawkins is exaggerating in some parts however is making very good points

  • @yougonasorry

he's right - but the first world war and an horrific flu virus helped get the number down.

  • I really like Dawkins and his rational view. But mainstream medicine and medical science is corrupt. Drug companies write fraudulent studies, and the medical establishment buries some alt therapies that have very good evidence, but are disruptive to entrenched interests (e.g. drug companies). An example is vaccines causing autism. The SCIENTIFIC evidence that vaccines cause autism is overwhleming. The problem is that the medical "Experts" dont like the answer.

  • For fuck sake, that thing at 1:20, you can buy in bloody gadget shops as a head massager. Charlatans.

  • he makes it sound like there's an actual war :) people are greatful for science but they seek more than knowing everything. Life is like a msytery story once the mystery has been solved well life kind of feels pointless :)

  • @robpatsno1fandine Life is pointless. That's just what makes it that bit more enjoyable. Because of that, you don't need to worry about it!

  • @robpatsno1fandine you don't solve the mystery, we are constantly trying to but we still have a long way to go. what we have so far is obviously very useful. also life is pointless. I'd rather phrase your second sentence as they seek less than knowing everything. they seek an easy way out of their (mostly)self-imposed problems.

  • "So here's Richard Dawkins taking on an easy target" haha, oh Richard, he's the best

  • Shakra doesn't exist? Great, now i can't be a ninja like naruto!

  • I love the bit at 3:02 where he opens his eyes and you can tell he's thinking "What the fuck...?". I love the God known as Richard Dawkins!

  • @leopheard this made me laugh quite a bit xD i scrolled down to see if anyone else got a giggle from it xD

  • @leopheard I LIKE THE BIT WHEN SHE ASK ABOUT ANGELS !!! LLLOOOOOLLLLL

  • @leopheard

Richard Dawkins would be disappointed in you for referring to him with such superstitious magical thinking.

  • go on babe wack that last traingle in

  • So Richard Dawkins is now a full blown Atlantean?

  • 3:02

    DAWKINS: "...?"

  • I love how whenever Dawkins finishes his solo-talking he walks purposefully off-screen, as if saying "Time to get to work."

  • "professional faith healer" is an oxymoron !

  • Faith works with NOTHING. It is hooey, moonbeams and magic beans. It is any number of gods, fairies, giants, unicorns, wookies, whatever ... my advice is to go with what you can KNOW, not with anything that needs no proof because it has none. Reserve judgement for that which you don't know and be free with your opinion that you just don't know instead of jumping to immature fantasies. Life is much more fun and awesomely rewarding without the mistake of adding magic.

  • One should note that rational science is also responsible for atomic and hydrogen bombs, chemcial weapons, and scores of pesticides and chemicals which are all harmful to humans. Dawkins fails to discuss these aspects of science as being enemies of reason.

The people he interviewed were indeed quacks but they in no way reflect all alternative thinking, healing or metaphysical understanding. Thought is substance.

and faith is a thought. Science and faith can and do work together.

  • @kendalwin1 You have so sincerely missed the point. Religion, racism, and irrational hatred was the reason that science was abused to create weaponry. Science and faith are enemies, and faith has always been the master of science. They are not compatible in any rational setting. Faith is always bad.

  • @kendalwin1 Despite the fact that you're missing the point of this documentary completely: What has faith brought us? Suicide bombers? The crusades? Please, let us not start a 'slanging match' and tally up which side has brought how many deaths/destruction etc. Because HUMANS cause that kind of thing, simple as that, people of all faiths or none.

  • The only research subjects Dawkins seems to use to make his point about alternative medicine are indeed quacks. But he fails to mention or discuss

legitimate alternative health techniques that provide patients with ways to maintain

wellness. Meditation, massage, vitamin therapy, diet and creative visualization do increase health through wellness centered approach.

Dawkins is plainly not very scientific in his biased form of 'research'. Dawkins is just as much as a quack as those he interviews

  • @kendalwin1 I think you missed the point if any of those actually work or have a positive effect on people then I don't think they would be an 'Enemy of Reason' as he puts it Also this isn't research this is just a quick overview of alternative medicine. I hardly think you can call him a quack for pointing out peoples obsession with this garbage, and the dangers it has caused us.

  • @kendalwin1

    What ARE you talking about?

Everyone knows we need certain vitamins for a healthy life - Dawkins might scoff at using pills to do the job when we've got fruit and veg.

Meditation is simply a way of calming the brain down into a very relaxed state - no need for bullshit. RD would agree.

Massage? I bet Dawkins has had a massage or two.

Diet?????????? Are you saying Dawkins doesn't think what you eat is important?

    Creative Visualisation? Read some Dawkins!

  • Mr Dawkins is a lot nicer to these people than Penn Jillette ever would be. My mind keeps filling in, "And then there's this (blank) hole!"

  • @SamonMarquis I have no idea how he can have such patience, i barely have the patience to sit thru 20 minutes of this spiritual nonsense. Penn's "And then there's this asshole" and overall aggression and lack of tolerance for this shit allows for brilliant vicarious venting.

  • She tells to terminal cancer patients that they feel the "effect" in six months.

Duh...they probably die before they can complain ! 6:20

  • i found myself too tall to step into the pearl

  • £140 pounds a day for faith healing?

id complain about how that is a complete and utter bullshit, but fuck it

if ur dumb enough to believe in faith healing, then you deserve to have your money taken away from you

4:40 and i love the cocky way richard says "i know what your thinking" :P

  • @FarhanC99

I charge £32 per hour to learn the trumpet (which is below the going rate in my area) - a whole day would cost £250, so she's quite cheap really; about £20 an hour.

  • @jazzx251 would you spend a single penny on faith healing? let alone 250 a day

saying its cheap is like saying a punch in the stomach doesnt hurt that much when u compare it to a kick in the balls

  • @FarhanC99

Look - deluded as she is - she could have charged a lot more. Because desperate people will pay even £150 an hour if they think it has any chance of curing their terminal disease.

I think she's a nice lady, with a soothing voice (try closing your eyes during her opening monologue, you can imagine the cancer would disappear for a while).

It's tricky. She DOES make her patients feel better - even though they'll still die of cancer. But it is garbage she's spouting.

  • people are dumb as fuck!

  • 8:30 is that Wendy Wright??? hahaha

  • 6:34 She had to laugh herself! LOL!

  • 2:45 you have seriously got to be shitting me .....I like to see a Religious asshole come and say ''shes crazy god doesn't work that way and then blah blah blah'' so i could tell them your just as crazy....

  • A golden glow from the heart, in the real world we would call that a very serious problem

  • id like to see what Mr Dawkins says about the Indian Swami who claimed he hadnt eaten or drank water for 70 years? he was subject to a rigorous lab experiment, even the water he washed with was measured before and after he used it and taken into account...he should have been malnurished, dehydrated nad showing signs of liver/kidney failure but after 2 weeks he was as fit as the day the experiment began...

  • I love at 3:00. Richard opens his eyes and looks around like, "WTF? Did she actually just say that?"

  • Richard Dawkins is so hot!

  • What you know, you know. See? That proves it.

  • How did he not laugh through most of that?

  • There is a God. My proof: I've seen a miracle....Dawkin's patience with these fucktards

  • wtf

  • WTF is the golden flower lady even talking about?

  • @JonestownJuice123 That's not for minds like ours to ponder... :-)

  • @JonestownJuice123 What she is saying is translated at 3.35 "£140 a day please, cash or debit card acceptable".

  • I don't want any saliva in my heart lady, but thanks anyway.

  • do these people know who they are talking to?

  • 3:02 "WTF is wrong with this woman"

  • where is ep3?????!!!!

  • Wow, this man has patience. My hands would be shaking from the urge to try and bang heads against a wall in an effort to get the stupidity out.

  • Actually... she does look a little like David Icke...

  • DOUBLE HELIX ! SMALL PERCENTAGE ! TRIANGLE! I'M DONE! COME BACK IN SIX MONTHS!

  • I KNOW IM RIGHT; THEREFORE IM RIGHT!!! NOW BUTTER YOUR BACON!

  • WHAT YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW !!

  • its like they want to bring us back to the dark age...

  • There actually is a triple stranded DNA helix. However it has a biological role in only one organism, E.coli Bacteria. triple stranded DNA is present in humans too, as a mutated gene which is the most prominant cause of breast cancer.

  • How does he not roll his eyes or sigh in front of these people!

  • Original vaccines did not contain mercury - the MMR now does. It is a scientifically proven neurotoxin just as fluoride is. When the governments try to hurt people they discredit themselves. This is also an issue

  • @agnoses

Toxicity depends on the dosage and there is also Risk-benefit ratio.

  • @agnoses

Mercury is added to vaccines to prevent spoilage .

  • @agnoses Yes there is some mercury in the MMR-vaccine, but there is more mercury in a tuna sandwich. The paper written by Andrew Wakefield, "proving" a link between the MMR-vaccine and autism, was based on fabricated evidence, the paper was retracted, and several studies have been done on the subject since, proving NO link. Now,thanks to the anti-vaxx propaganda, for the first time in decades children in many countries, including the UK, have died from the preventable illness measles.

  • @anergia The paper was forcefully retracted, it was thrown violently out of a high court. Not only that, but the "doctor" who fabricated that study is banned from ever practicing medicine again, ever, right? That dude has so much death on his hands. Evil.

As an aside, I think they actually took the mercury out of the vaccines in the 90's, just as a precaution. Don't quote me on that though.

  • I think Dawkins is way too obsessed with modern science. Its fine if he does not believe in God but its too arrogant to think that cure can be obtained only through modern science.Ayurveda is effective for certain ailments whether he agrees it or not

  • @avalanche1115

Ayurveda is primitive outdated medicine it is like alchemistry and chemistry .

  • Here Dawkins is at his best, but when he uses the same tactics to attack God, he is at his worst. The same as Bill Mayer is a political genius and makes a fool out of himself when attacking God. There are beliefs that are quite irrational, specially fundamentalists, but not all are and not all can be the subject of ridicule and mockery. Putting a blind fold and just living by what can science show us deny our creativity, passion, love, art, feelings and topmost desires. He needs to discern.

  • @dejesusluisx lol no , god isnt love its hate.

  • Look at Dawkins at 3:01 and on for a few seconds. I laughed my ass off. LOL

  • ...thanks for posting this!

  • 3:03 you know he was laughing on the inside

  • I will show this to my children when I am older, they deserve this.

  • 4:22 - 4:35 i puked on my keybord

  • 8:01 - EMS VCS3 synthesizer :)

  • 6:15 - 6.33

How did Dawkins not burst out laughing?? I would have spat the laugh out involuntarily .

  • At least homeopathy has a bullshit that at least sounds.... well, bullshit, but I mean it sounds like some sort of non-logical sense.

That woman and her dna and "let me put it in you" by waving her hands is just flat out WTF?

  • 4:40 That's exactly what I was thinking, proof that Dawkins is a fortuneteller!

  • Why do people believe that they are healing others with their so-called "treatments" ? Simple: MONEY! They are financially raping the uneducated. But who is worse? The delusional healers, or the gullible many who finance this farce?

  • wait wait wait, did she just say Atlantis?

  • he blinks a lot when people are being stupid

  • dawkins opened his eyes way after me... i was incredulous

  • hate that fucking animal old hag

  • Our DNA is 50% banana

  • Obviously back when we lived in Atlantis our DNA was triangular, how could science have missed that one.

  • His face at 3:00 is fucking priceless.

  • that spirit guru is straight out of 'the league of gentlemen'

  • yeah lets all put the last triangle in

  • Have you asked any angels to come close to you? No. No well you haven't got any then. lol

  • Kudos, Dawkins, kudos! Your tolerance is simply amazing.

  • How in the world did Mr. Dawkins keep a straight face through that!

Is it possible that he has evolved into a decent human being?

Hats offf to you sir, i surely would not have been able.

  • sadly as a really like dawkins he is wrong about medicines are tested to prove they works and are safe - for a start any medicine that is based on natural ingredients is never looked at as many of the known caner cures , why? because your cant copyright a natural product only if its genetically modified. so they are passed by and often fake claims made against them - check out the gerson institute - prove cases of cures for cancer diabetes etc and there practices got banned lol why (no money)

  • Dawkins is the man

  • amazing how that woman has the nerve to spout all that shit about DNA in front of a Professor of genetics

  • @chrish12345 From Oxford no less.

  • @chrish12345 LOL was thinking the same thing. In fact that made me cringe :D

  • Comment removed

  • Faith Healer: "You know..."

Tom Cruise burst in: "I do..."

  • Dawkins must feel the urge to laugh all the time, he´s amazing because he don´t, this is self-control.

  • @gdreyer I would have lost it at 3:20

  • @gdreyer cause it probably doesnt amuse him, it amazes him lmfao

  • You know how the cons in the USA always complain about media bias? Well, what group of people have been demonized in the media, especially in horror and sci fi movies, more than Scientists?

Then again, let these losers use quack medicine, then they will die off sooner

  • *ERP* Sorry, got a little saliva in my heart.

  • @aleatharhea Remember, in crank High Voltage, when they're operating Chelios and that Asian guy spits inside his heart? XD

  • At 4:27 one can witness one of the many "Wait, are you fucking kidding me?" Dawkins faces.

  • richard dawkin's you are my hero trually a man who stands for truth and knowledge.

  • I love this idiot who tries to talk to Richard fuckin' Dawkins about DNA. She's trying to tell an evolutionary biologist this. Hilarious. I literally laughed out loud.

  • When the Atlantis nutter added some strands of DNA to Richard Dawkins by wafting away a fart and saying "It's done".... the little bit of faith that I have in the human race died.

  • There should be UNICEF statistics on measels deaths in non-immunised countries somewhere. Compare that with countries with routine vaccination for Measels.

This missinformation has led to the first child death from measels in the UK since the MMR vaccine became widespread: In not vaccinating your child you risk killing your child, and dying from measels isn't a pleasent death either. Autism is determined before you're actually born, it only becomes apparent at 5 or so. Hence the correlation.

  • I wonder how many times he screamed "BULLSHIT" inside his head during the recording of this.

  • Please, for anyone who watches these videos and has or will have children... HAVE YOUR CHILDREN IMMUNIZED !!! The boogeyman is NOT your pediatrician! Current journalism and media are horrible, do not listen to the majority of the bs they say! DO NOT DO THIS TO YOUR OWN CHILD !

  • @anonynaw if u can produce the stats on infant mortality related to immunization, please do. they are not even compiled after the 1970's or so. what does it tell u that the numbers are not availible? i am not convinced either way, but why not at least record the data?

  • @me86680 It's not to do with infant mortality. They aren't immunized and they catch these horrible diseases, which can be entirely avoided. I don't have the stats, I don't need them. I can guarantee if you're immunized you won't catch the mumps for example. There is absolutely no scientific data, that suggests that infants are more or less, prone to autism because they've been vaccinated. It is my personal theory that autism is hereditary.

  • The absolute idiocy of this woman is unbelievable! It's difficult to believe that someone would make such a claim about DNA without, obviously, knowing anything at all about it. Thank you Dr. Dawkins on informing others, about the bs in this world that we live in.

  • deep knowing, is that like the deep magic from Narnia

  • That bitch been watching too much 5th element, Milla Jovovich is not a supreme being, she just looks like one... she has the same two stands that we do

  • This chick was laughing at her own nonsense. If you're going to be a con artist,at least pretend as if you believe the garbage coming forth from your mouth.

  • W.T.F moment at 3:00

  • I just couldnt watch the part when the woman starts "explaining" DNA.. its so painful...

  • @Abcflc Thats when it started getting good!

  • He woke and was like WTF !

  • i tried that head scratching thing in china one time, its great if your head itches or feel like your head is being jacked off but nothing else

  • I see some value in this. That may sound crazy but look at it this way- There is a well known principle known as the "Placebo Effect". Dome of the people treated by these apparently rediculous methods are bound to actually be cured simply by believing that they have been. As a result those people do not drain actual medical resources which might result in an overall greater level of health than otherwise. Just a thought anyway.
