i am a member of the NAPCG (national association of professional creative groomers) which educates groomers how to safely color pets. i use a non toxic, semi-permanent coloring gel made for dogs & cats. you do have to be careful what you use on your pets.

Looked at your video first thing this morning & it had me laughing so hard I was crying. My kids woke up and wanted to know what was wrong!

I seriously want to do this to my malitpoo. She already looks like a toy (<2 lbs) What's the "trick" behind this? Fresh haircut & wash (so she's fuzzy) then paint? What kind of paint/ where do I get it? (online or store?)

@Mily0531, if you haven't noticed, the dog is over joyed and happy. It's also not up to you now is it? Also, the dog is COLOR BLIND, meaning he can't see colors! And, it's not harmful at all to the dogs, espiecialy if they know what their doing. millions of people dye their hair, so dogs can to. Ever heard of equal rights?

the dog has no idea, the color is applied during the bath process, and she gets wrapped and snugged for the 15 min soak, then rinsed and groomed as usual. I would be happy to explain the process more.

I think she looked great! You can tell she felt like a million bucks! I'm about to dye my b/w shih tzu for July 4th. She's gonna be red, white & blue! Picked up manic panic today, can't wait! I shaved zebra stripes on my Blk St Poo one time. It was awesome! Let the face grow out, had the zebra mane too. It's just for fun people, chill out! Life is too short! I must say, I wish some of my customers would let me experiment like that! It'd be a blast! LOL

Thank-you, but it really is up to my clients and it seems to be personal preferance. I made a deal with skeeters owners that i wouldn't charge extra if they let me do what ever I wanted. She is a farm dog, so they were just as surprised, yet they asked me to color her again they liked it so much. The dogs seem to like the extra attention. I use a vegitable based semi permanent dye, so no harm done. She looked like a stuffie. Joanne
