The music was originally for the Sentinels, but the Sentinels never same (exept the Movie made from the 1st 3 episodes). I guess Hamony Gold decided to make some use to this music.

Lensman was the original sci-fi epic. Read the books, the anime is alright but doesn't do the books justice.

I had the movie on VHS, it's quality is poor now so I found a torrent of it.

actually some of the music tracks for both the Lensam Secret of the Lens and Power of the lens were also used in Robotech the sentinels, the ost is avaialble online I think

I remember watching these two movies when I was a kid in the 80s. They really did stretch the conceot of artistic licencing when they moved the stories medium from the books to the cartoon. Apparently JMS is interested in scripting a series of movies based on the original novels. Im guessing book 3 would come first.

Buzkirk and Werzel are major characters in the book... though they are quite a bit different. Buzkirk is just a human who's really strong because he's from a high gravity planet, And Werzel has more appendages.

I can understand why those who've read the novels hate the anime incarnation. But for the record, some of us do consider the novels and the anime as two completely different entities. Yes, we know you original novel readers hate the anime, but don't hate on it. I mean I love Marcoss and Robotech, so why can't we all just like what we want to like and leave others to make their own choices?

This seems like a very poor simplification of the actual story to me. Making the Eddorians seem as though they enjoyed destruction and were the embodiment of evil is a much more obvious and stereotypical (but boring) idea. And the whole Lens on the back of the hand thing just doesn't sit well with me. I definetly prefer the books.

If anyone here likes this movie, I recommend you read the original, WAY BETTER!

Actually their alterations on Power of the Lens make it more like the original books then the anime was, and that was probably intentional.
