AND!! the reason why price send the emp was because the americans were losing because russians had all the air control and all of the tanks and all that..

@tetrisclock Shepherd had sent Joseph Allen or "Alexei Bordein" (you) to be a part of the airport massacre, and Makarovs kill you, so Shepherd betrayes 141 so they dont tell someone that it is Shepherds fault that theres a war. And, its not a nuke.. If it was a nuke, everybody would be dead. Its a EMP, which does that all electronic doesnt work. Thats the reason why all the choppers fall down, jets crashing, tanks not moving and optics not working after the EMP. It helped the US to win the fight

You can detonate a nuke at any altitude. I think all modern nukes are designed to detonate in the air and never on direct contact with the ground. Look up some videos on here of aerial detonations. They're badass looking.

This is the one moment of the game that completely surprised me. Mainly because I was like "Oh cool, we made it" And then Shepherd shot me and I was like "What the fuck?!" I seriously almost cried when he lit Roach and Ghost on fire, because I believed until the last second that they would somehow make it out alive, until it said "Gary 'Roach' Sanderson: KIA. @Danielfrom2640 they knew he used makarov to start woorld war 3. by sending pvt. allen undercover, he gave makarov a way to frame america for the airport massacre. shepard warned the russians would attack, because he manipulated them to do so. the u.s. then put shepard in power because of this. ironically, shepard started world war 3 because he wanted revenge for the 50,000 american soldiers killed by the nuke in cod4, a nuke that makarov detonated.
