@weetabixharry No. Luck is involved too. Not everyone has the talent. You need the correct genes. My genes are great for building muscles for example. I can build muscles a lot easier and faster than other people. I don't even have to train to be able to lift my own weight in bench press. I'm lucky to have these genes. However, we can't do anything about our genes. So for most people, hard work is the only way to go.

@weetabixharry Yes, and that isn't really impressive as far as lifting weights go. But that doesn't mean you can't lift as much as someone else though. That's where the hard work comes in. However, the ones with better genes will always be ahead of you if they go through the same training. Their limit is higher. That is one of the reasons why most people go for what they are already good at. That is most of the time what they are good at and have the genes for.
