  • Me, too. Lost this song thirty years ago

  • Besides "Vincent" from the previous album, this album is the very reason I could call myself a fan of Don McLean. This is just a fine collection of poignant ballads: sad, beautiful, sarcastic, amusing, moving, unusual, classic sounding. The instrumentation at times is a little like Buckmasters work with early Elton John (Madmen) and this album is on fine a par as that Elton John album and probably with a wider a range of pictures in song: A splendid example from the period.

  • I really like the verse 'oh how I worked my youth away'. It's sad that it's what most people end up doing, then when they're old, that's when they wish they had enjoyed life more.

  • This is another beautiful song from one of the best singer-songwriters of all time, for me anyway. Thanks for this, Don, and emv710!

  • Just a wonderful song from perhaps (IMO anyway) Don McLean's most under appreciated L.P.! emv710 thanks for the upload, D.M. has never sounded better, HELL YEAH I love this song!

  • a favorite since its release.. He was friends with Hop-Along Cassidy..William Boyd. ..this probably has a thread or two from their friendship.

  • Much grateful. I have been searching for this song for a long time. Thanks again.

  • @sunnychanan: you're very welcome!
