In the early 1900's, a dark shadow covered a small country in rual America. At that time, a young married couple vanished mysteriously from their home.
The man's name was George, the woman's name was Maria.
Two years later, as suddenly as he left, George returned. He never told anyone where he had been or what he had done. But, he began an odd study, all by himself.
There are many ways to describe this song... Mystical... Euphonic... Sad... Noble... Joyous... Beautiful...
It's powerful, it's glorious, it's the beauty of mankind, and the joys of spring. It's magical, it's the story of all, and it's the melody... It's the melody that we can all...
@Gigarceus Seeing as in MOTHER 1 you had to leave your family in order to save the Earth, and the overall family losses for both the hero and villain, it fits wonderfully
The first time I heard this song, I felt like I recognized it somehow. It sounded very familiar, even nostalgic, yet...I have never played Mother 1 or knew what the name of the song was. Please someone tell me that I'm not the only one that has felt this way. ;_;
You suddenly find yourself in a room. It's dark, and it's cold. Suddenly, lights start to flutter. Like the Lumine Hall, but not exactly projecting your thoughts, but projecting the memories of the game, of its roots. The room starts to feel comfortable, in a nostalgic way. The room lights up the wall and then you see a blue circle with white pieces. The song plays, and then all the lights come on, and you walk an enourmosly large room. Congratulations, you have experienced the Time Passage.
Ah that's right. I knew it, but forgot where it was in MOTHER3. Man I still turn on my copy of MOTHER 1+2 just to hear this. Most beautiful song ever to come out of a game boy.

No crying until the end! That's the rule of the mother series.
killabunnie 1 year ago 4
@killabunnie I think crying is allowed when Hinawa dies and Flint breaks down. In a lot of ways that was sadder than the ending.

Yeah, I stayed in the hall in M3 where this song plays for a while, trying to come up with lyrics. I forgot the lyrics an hour later. XD

I think that's what a lot of the music of the Mother series tries to convey, that sense of familiarity. It's very nostalgic sounding just by itself.

nick747474 3 years ago 2
It's the title music for the first game, and it plays in the long hall before the Pollyanna Meuseum in NPC in M3.
There's a similar long hall in the first game, but I don't believe it's the same music.

Sure, I'll bite.
Try to word your statements a bit more politely, even if it's a pet peeve of yours. You came off like a total jackass.
And go ahead and brush me off by calling me a troll, if it makes you feel any better.

Why do you keep calling it a fight? Are you thirteen?
I mean to suggest that you were directing the focus on me, rather than you being rude.
Go ahead and laugh at "this fight," though. You should really think about your tone, the internet, and you.
