  • ya its a sad song

  • This song sounds like a beginning and an end at the same time.

  • My masculinity is failing.

    "No crying untill the end."

I cried a shitstorm listening to this. So beautiful.

  • MOTHER/EarthBound Zero = dark. EarthBound = happy and joyful. MOTHER 3 = sad and depressing.

  • @blakewilliams13 but becomes happy at the end when you find out everyones okay.

  • Perfect song to lay back, looking at the stars, holding hands with a girl while listening to this song.

  • Chilllls! Oh, the memories...

  • 20 years have passed since then...

    Well, way more now!

  • where did u get the sound track?

  • In the early 1900's, a dark cloud covered a small area in rural america....

  • this was my favorite part of the game

    THE NOSTALGIA!! :'D

  • No crying till the end...

  • reminds me of eight melodies

  • OH GOD THANK YOU EARTHBOUND ZERO!

  • I love this song @_@

  • I'm not gonna lie, hearing this song made me cry.

  • No crying until the end! That's the rule of the mother series.

  • @killabunnie I think crying is allowed when Hinawa dies and Flint breaks down. In a lot of ways that was sadder than the ending.

  • There are many ways to describe this song... Mystical... Euphonic... Sad... Noble... Joyous... Beautiful...

It's powerful, it's glorious, it's the beauty of mankind, and the joys of spring. It's magical, it's the story of all, and it's the melody... It's the melody that we can all...

  • It sounds like you have to leave your best friend or something that you truly love.

  • @Gigarceus Seeing as in MOTHER 1 you had to leave your family in order to save the Earth, and the overall family losses for both the hero and villain, it fits wonderfully

  • The first time I heard this song, I felt like I recognized it somehow. It sounded very familiar, even nostalgic, yet...I have never played Mother 1 or knew what the name of the song was. Please someone tell me that I'm not the only one that has felt this way. ;_;

  • Ha! Don't worry the same happened to me when I first heard it as well. I love the feeling this song gives me.

  • @animefangirlXD: Yay, I'm not alone! XD

Yeah, I stayed in the hall in M3 where this song plays for a while, trying to come up with lyrics. I forgot the lyrics an hour later. XD

  • I think that's what a lot of the music of the Mother series tries to convey, that sense of familiarity. It's very nostalgic sounding just by itself.

  • Mother 1 Title Screen

  • song's desgined to insert itself into your memories retroactively. it's designed to make itself nostalgic.

  • You suddenly find yourself in a room. It's dark, and it's cold. Suddenly, lights start to flutter. Like the Lumine Hall, but not exactly projecting your thoughts, but projecting the memories of the game, of its roots. The room starts to feel comfortable, in a nostalgic way. The room lights up the wall and then you see a blue circle with white pieces. The song plays, and then all the lights come on, and you walk an enourmosly large room. Congratulations, you have experienced the Time Passage.

  • I've heard this music somewhere before, but i've only played the first chapter of Mother 3! Grrrr.....

  • You might have heard this song at the introduction to Mother 1 for the NES.

  • Nah, haven't played the game.

  • You might have heard a remix of it or something? Maybe it played somewhere in Earthbound I can't remember.

  • Mother 1 or Ness/Lucas's victory theme in Brawl

  • Really? *goes off to play Brawl*

  • @Transpacity

    Sort of...

  • The end of the main melody is exactly it..

  • @Transpacity

I know, it just its not the whole thing... I would say both of our comments were pointless...

  • Smash Bros. Brawl? It's Ness and Lucas' victory theme.

  • mother 1

  • When I first heard this song walking to the final boss, I was like, "It's time to end this, right where we began."

  • Deep,man.....deep.

  • Madre uno.

  • I hear me some 8 Melodies. I love this one.

  • A lot of it actually

  • I wish they didn't remove this from iTunes :<

  • (goes back to pages where arguement hasn't started to enjoy comments about video)

  • why must people argue in the videos comments. thats what sending messages is for.

  • Such a great song

  • Where does this song take place? I can't put my finger on it.

  • It's the title music for the first game, and it plays in the long hall before the Pollyanna Meuseum in NPC in M3.

There's a similar long hall in the first game, but I don't believe it's the same music.

  • Ah that's right. I knew it, but forgot where it was in MOTHER3. Man I still turn on my copy of MOTHER 1+2 just to hear this. Most beautiful song ever to come out of a game boy.

  • NES originally :D

  • Yeah, that's probably what it reminded me of. >_>

  • Did you know you're a prick?

  • Seeing as how I said absolutely nothing to you, I'd say that you're prick in this situation.

  • Removing your comment, huh buddy?

Betcha feel like a doucher, huh?

  • Super cool story, bro.

Why be so anal about a youtube comment? Don't you have a better way to spend your time?

  • Comment removed

  • I didn't start anything, you're the one being a prick.

  • Sure, I'll bite.

Try to word your statements a bit more politely, even if it's a pet peeve of yours. You came off like a total jackass.

And go ahead and brush me off by calling me a troll, if it makes you feel any better.

  • Doesn't feel so good to have rudeness directed at you, does it?

Go ahead, turn it around, it's okay.

  • Comment removed

  • Why do you keep calling it a fight? Are you thirteen?

I mean to suggest that you were directing the focus on me, rather than you being rude.

Go ahead and laugh at "this fight," though. You should really think about your tone, the internet, and you.

  • Comment removed

  • Of course I can't hear the tone of your voice, that's why you need to be more careful and sound like less of a prick.
