I wish you did all of the tomb raiders in speedruns and as a 1 file. the so cold long play. and of course, with the best quality possible. thank you for the best play ever. you are the master. no doubts.
aww this brings back memories since i was a kid ^^ but all i remember from this level (i think) is a hand of gold and if you jump on it lara will die turning into gold :D
@MMAN2 how the fuck did you do this game that fast, you must have super powers or sumet, the least amount of time it would take me to do this game would be a day to complete it, ur mental man XD
One of the great all time levels. Up there with Palace Midas, Obelisk Of Khamoon and Barkhang Monastry. Shame about the remake with the butchered levels, sped up gameplay, stupid poles and corridors connecting rooms together that are full of stupid razor disks and balance poles. And removing the BRILLIANT FALL into the giant underwater room on Sanctury Of The Scion with decending corridor followed by decending corridor was just unacceptable. I could go on.....
Excellent - you are so fast! Those mummies used to really scare me. I think it's the creepy noise they make. I just finished Temple of Khamoon in TRA and I don't think the new mummies are half as scary as these guys even though they move a bit faster!
You have to remember that most players in today's world aren't used to the slow action of Tomb Raider 1. When I say slow action, I mean the meticulous planning of each and every jump. Plus, due to the graphic naqture of the game, it's very difficult to see the path that you should take sometimes. I remember it being somewhat difficult for me the first time but it comes easier to some than others. Don't down it, it's a great game and it is pretty difficult for today's gamers to grasp.
no it just means most of today's gamers are idiots who want a game that does everything for them, because their brain does not function well enough to calculate something as easy as a jump... Take Silent Hill, now that has a good psychological story behind it... why do most people like it? Because of the gore and blood and creatures, half the people don't understand the game, which leads me to believe that people only want games with graphics more than a story or actual puzzles in it...
Games used to be awesome... Like the original Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Driver, Sonic, Mario...they made people think, tho graphics indeed were horrible... now graphics are great, but games so damn easy you finish them in one day... was it really worth the 50 bucks?
That's totally true! They don't make them like they used to. It makes me so hapy that I'm from that generation and I an enjoy it. My lil bro, 15 years old, always has a game so his brain can function. He get's lost in those mindless games that aren't worth the time or money! Atleast he hasn't gone down the "blood and guts" trail yet...all people care about now is the eye-candy. I want a game that will stick with me!
True. Unfortunately games and movies are both going more to graphic looks instead of plot and/or puzzle. HC gamers don't rely have anything to go on these days and children of gaming have nothing that would improve their thinking. People are being let down by game developers that just want to get the easy cash. Gaming in the old days was more productive mentally. And more fun. There rely isn't anything for the HC-gamers anymore.
Listening to you guys it would appear that gaming is some sort of superiour and suprime wisdom, science or art... it ISN"T!!!! Gaming is all... ALL about fun - there is no game that REALLY makes your brane work - it's one thing if you play games for a hobby, but a totally different one if you think they can actually somehow IMPROVE you. Yes you can master them but not somehow become smarter or anything thanks to the game. If you really want to get yourslef brainwork go study sicence or phylosoph
@ABYZ1289 i have to disagree with you slightly there, gaming wont exactly make you smarter but in some games like the old TR's they do get you thinking, i agree that gaming should be all about fun but there is nothing wrong in having to use your brain, but gaming does have positive sides to the brain in small amounts so long a the game isn't mindless shooting and actually makes you think i.e TR1,2,3,4 and 5 XD
@Guilthas i agree with you there gaming isn't what it use to be theres not really much out there for true gamers not some dickhead fanboy who is always on cod but the ones who really appreciate the classic games that started it all. tbf the uncharted games are the next best thing to the original TR's, it has a great story and some very inventive and genius puzzles to solve, uncharted is like the old tomb raiders of today
I'm not into Egypt-levels, like in TR4. Those mummies and skeletons are just soo creepy. And sand sand sand everywhere you go. :D But this game has some panthers (?), that's nice.
carnagerie i agree. Anniversarys City Of Khamoon is graphically superior but it feels too arcady with the new controls and the pace is too fast like Prince Of Persia. Its also lost its Ambience at times and its grace.
Thats right, I know they could have kept the ambience, but the team working on it would have to understand it and admire it. Its good to know other people out there know about it though. Thanks man.
i realized that the 1st trapdoor that you come to. where u pulled the lever to open it, on the ps1 version you can still get through it without opening it.
good shortcut falling through the trapdoor. Another good run, another great level. Ten yrs on and there are no games around tday that offer the same tightly structured level design as TR1 and 3 (With the exeption of Some parts of Ocarina Of Time)
Good bypass of the blocks at the start. Just a question, did you not find it easier to use a stronger weapon than the pistols, or were you not 'allowed' to use another gun? 7:11 is most impressive, it takes me an hour to do this level (though that includes pick-ups and secrets and generally exploring). You know EXACTLY where everything is, like it's mapped out in your head. Great jumping, and dropping through a closed trapdoor :S You're amazing at this!
Animation in this game were awesome for its time.
