THANK YOU!! This is one of the best performances of this classic i've heard in a VERY long time. Splendid clarity and simplicity, and the soloist is superb.
I was a choral scholar at the Oxford college this piece was written for, and we did it all the time. I've also sung it as a cathedral lay clerk and in concert choirs.
I've been searching for a *really* good performance of this piece since I first came across it in 2002, and I think I may just have found it in this wonderful interpretation.
Being a countertenor myself for 15+ yrs and having sung in a number of professional choirs from the age of 10 in a choir of men and boys. I thought you did the verse parts superbly and the choir was spot on. I have sung this piece a number of times and it is not an easy piece to perform. We tend to be our own harshest critics. Once again, well done and I agree, no need to apologise.
this is a good edition, you have an excellent counter tenor voice, many cathedral's have done this not successfully as this and wrong notes will always happen but because you seem to stay confident they are noticed
Very beautiful !
merci !
