  • you probably do a good burger, but halibut no no no, lightly coat the halibut in oil before putting in a hot dry pan just like a steak, serve nude or with garlic butter and lemon juice and before you say I dont know what I' m talking about, I owned a world famous seafood restaurant and retired at the age of 47

  • @dezsanderson

i'm planning on cooking halibut for the first time. would you recommend seasoning it before coating it with olive oil? Is the cooking time less than an equivalent portion of salmon? Also, would you recommend a garlic butter sauce with lemon over a Hollandaise sauce? (i'm thinking of serving it with grilled asparagus) Please advise and thank you in advance.

  • @edwardyt Hi, keep the recipe simple, halibut, season, coat lightly in oil, cook in a dry pan, cook on one side(you can see the progress of the cooking on the side of the fillet), as soon as you have turned the fillet over and sealed it ( 30-40 secs ) then add lemon juice and garlic butter ( parsley as well if you wish ), the fillet will finish cooking by steaming in the lemon juice. Dont be tempted to thicken the sauce, keep it simple, serve with broccolli and crusty bread .No other sauce bye

  • You don't use the oil because they're sponsors though.

  • Nice! Thanks Chef!!!
