  • Thumbs up!!

  • I'm looking for more songs with a lot of bass.

    Any sugestions?

  • @vxAREKxv Anything by any of the guys in this group. They all have great solo careers and Vic's in Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, which is Vic plus a banjo player, Vic's brother who plays a percussion-type instrument he invented (the synthaxe drumitar, it's shaped like a guitar but makes percussion sounds), a sax player, and other random musicians (they played a few concerts with a guy who specializes in "Tuvan throat singing," for example)

  • victor wootens bass playing is like smooth chocolate for the ears

  • 4 Hours later. This song was listened 24 times...

    OMG

I never hear the same song as times

  • If 4 strings is good enough for Wooten, Miller, and Clarke....

Then 4 strings is good enough for me.

  • *adds to favorites*

  • Stanley Clarke is so old school hes the only one wearing converse hahaha

  • Black power!!

  • @jazzy27994 White Power!

  • @T28spwn no sono negri..

  • Just bought the CD,how do you upload song to youtube?

  • @jgpjdrum I hear you MOMMY, we was robbed!!! :(

  • 11 people got hit by a thunderstorm.

  • I'm sorry but how is the world still in one piece after these three met on the same stage?

  • I have an idea SHUT UP AND LISTEN that is it. SIMPLE!!!

  • Add Jaco Pastorius and Larry Graham to this. L.S.M.V.J.

  • Boarf c'est un peu masturbation intellectuel quoi. M'enfin ça envoie ! Et puis bon ça fou une claque à bon nombre des détracteurs de bass !

  • MAN THAT IS FUNKY!!!!

  • I make an honest comment and the biggest baby remarks are made;mkdFlaSH must be an SMV cronie.

  • great bass sound!

  • This is good but these guys have music habits such as staying in one realm and genre too much all funk and jazz. They're very talented though but I would get tired of this style by 8-9 minutes album wise.

  • @blitzspeer nobody is forcing you to listen to this, so if you don't like it shut the fuck up and go

  • Comment removed

  • @blitzspeer

Have you considered the fact that funk and jazz is one realm? Much like metal is it's own realm? If you're great at something, no need to go into other areas that you aren't known for

An example: You'll never see concert pianist who's grown up around classical music all of a sudden pick up a guitar and play death metal.

All of these guys have grown up listening to Jazz and Funk. It's what they play, it's what they're known for. Maybe you should consider broadening your scopes?

  • this sucks

    not!

  • 500 - 11.

    I think we're winning.

  • COMPLETE CLEAR .....

  • 4:41 - 4:45

  • Damn I love 3:03-3:09!! That's so awesome!!

  • Man as we thought you couldnt get any funkier...wow. The only other two missing is Jaco Pastorious and Larry Grahm. Them five would be called Funk Nirvana

  • @lu1dbo Guess your right

  • I'd like to be the 1st Jewish guy to top this

  • @rahagbab The only thing you should top is a pile of dead bodies.

  • @OrgasmicPotatoe Ha ha ha.... dark humor... I like that...

Why don't you go jump off a cliff then, assuming you haven't contemplated doing that already... fucktard.

  • @rahagbab Shut up Jew.

Who let you out of the oven ?

  • @OrgasmicPotatoe I can't tell whether you are serious or just really comitted to you little "internet troll" act.

In any case, can you please explain to me what has your panties in such a twist about jews? If you don't mind that is... oh great one.

  • How can you ever dislike this?

  • WHY JACO

WHY DID YOU HAVE TO LEAVE BEFORE YOU COULD BE A PART OF THIS

It's a great song but I can just feel how much better it could have been

  • this is a shout to everyone who over-looks the incredible instrument that is the Bass Guitar.

  • That my friends is music at its best!!

  • can somebody help me exetrect the bassline in this tune?

    ....oh wait

    XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • This just proved being black = being awesome.

  • @SonsOfHateSphere thats cool and all but im white and i like the blues too sir :)

  • Wow now THAT´S a groovy Sound *claps in the hands along to the song*

  • Wow.It's for the first I listen to this marvelous supergroup.I love that they have that jazzy sound in their music...

  • you know everytime who's playing just because of there personal style and all those three togther is just like the paradiese:D

  • I love it when bass players cover all their basses AND all the guitarists basses too.

  • Regardless if you're Punk, Metal, Hiphop, Emo, Jazz or passed away, this song is just one of those must-have moments a day.

  • 3:13 and on is I N S A N E

  • stanley looks soooooooooo damm cool

  • i listened to this whilst high last night. oh my days :)

  • This, is, AMAZING! Jeez, if only I could play bass like this!

  • me gustaria encontrar algun video de el tema pendulum de Smv si alguien lo tiene que me lo diga como sea, gracias

  • I like the fact that 'shut up' got 22 votes. thats fucking hilarious :D

  • shit this is amazing

  • so nasty....true instrumental mastery.

  • racist is stupid

  • nice... <3

  • 8 poor bastards - missed the like button!

  • why do you guys keep bringing other bass players into the mix there is no comparison, SMV are the best in the world period and no disrespcect but SMV would play any of those other guys under the table flea, les claypool mark king etc......

    no contest

  • @DString20 I agree. But I think that Melvin Lee Davis could really join them. Melvin Davis is my favourite bassist.

  • @DString20 the others: fair play but leave Claypool alone!

  • @DString20 i def agree string...im glad someone has sense in this world

  • @DString20 I agree that Thunder is absolutely amazing, but saying that these guys can play every other bassist under the table is very naive. It makes you sound silly. There are lots of bassists that don't receive the recognition they deserve. Look up some of P-nut from 311's live bass solos; he hasn't made an album on his own, and I doubt that he will, but I guarantee he is more than capable.

  • @DString20 Funk bass, certainly. These guys are a class act. There are definately some other really great bassists around though (and no, I'm not counting the overrated ones you mentioned!).

  • @DString20 all bass players are different, Flea is a great bass player at what he does, so are Victor, Stanley and Marcus... Les Claypool can do things that none of these can do... theyre all great in their own right,

  • @DString20 You're implying your opinion is complete fact and everyone else's is wrong, is just stupid. Victor is good, but Les Claypool and Flea are a complete perfect match, if i must say so with out being an asshole.

  • @DiscoSheriffIsaac your right, technically it is an opinion , we could argue and go back and forth but the reason why I said what I said in my very first comment was because someone brought up Les Claypool,Flea and other rock bassist and none of them have anything to do with this video so why even mention them in the first place? I still stand by what I said but I respect your opinion and I'll leave it at that

  • I've never heard of any of these three guys before, but I sooo love this! This music is like 100 % pure distilled awesomeness! 8 ingorant people who disliked this.

  • holy christ! the gods came down and blessed these dudes! this is some shit. I've loved Stanley forever and heard of everything else but not SMV! i will be sidetracked for sometime now. . .

  • LOVE

  • @fraghunter67 If you aren't trying to offend anyone than it would help to not use the words "nigger" and "whitey". Just saying...

  • @fraghunter67 ur thinking of asian people.

  • they all be lookin hella fresh and playin hella fresh!and look at their basses! good ol four string! woo :D you can hear a little bit of each person's style in here its awesome!

  • so talented, absolutley brilliant. Thats a cool picture too. The only thing i dont really dig about the SMV deal is Clarke's tone on his bass

  • wooten solo is very cool :)

  • marcus miller the best

  • honestly, this puts a lot of quite good guitarists to shame, in fact I think shred bass solos are more badass than crazy guitar solos

  • @1kydde2 Then look up Tosin Abasi or Arif from Protest the Hero.

  • @1kydde2 You don't shred on the bass. Shredding is tasteless enough as it is on guitar, but if you're not grooving on the bass you're worthless. Stanley, Marcus and Victor always keep a groove going even when soloing, instead of mindlessly playing up and down scales very quickly.

  • @Tharapita Shredding is a neither here nor there kind of thing. Its a term used by people by lack of a better word. I have heard some of the most tastefuly soloing in what would be considered "shredding". then again, jeff beck and gary moore have an equal effect with fewer notes. theres nothing wrong with proficiency, its just how its applied. like you said though, groove is essential.

  • @1kydde2 actually met victor wooten in park city utah signed my sons bass coo dude..really a nice person his bro was cool too

  • @1kydde2 yah my boy plays a 7 string he is bad ass..actually met victor a few years back in parkcity utah a really cool dude always has time for his fans...signed my sons bass..

  • @1kydde2 yah and butterscotch doing beatbox aint bad either..

  • omg bass orgasm! a uhh.... BASSGASM!

  • 15 seconds in and my mind was already blown and my world rocked.

  • somebody has an idea of "how to figure out what they are doing?" i would love to play that but there are not tabs or sheetmusics on the web. if somebody got an idea, feel free to message me =) BASS !

  • What are you all arguing about?

Music isn't a race! It's not about who is better on this song.

This song is what it is because all three of them are who they are.

If you start thinking like who is the best here go learn how to listen to music!

  • Take these 3 guys then add cliff burton, steve harris, and david ellefson, then wed have a funk metal bass super group.

  • Is my imagination but i listen that marcus play more time in the song ... someone can tell me

  • @adrianexertetete yes, marcus is playing "more" in this song.

  • Anyone else annoyed at Stanley Clarke's playing here? I know he is a legend, blah blah, but let's be honest: Vic and Marcus tore him apart in this tune

  • @movethatgroovethat I don't agree with your assesment, about Vic and Marcus out playing Stanley here. As you you must know Stanley, is by far the greatest of the trio.

  • @ShangoDC just because he's better than them doesn't mean he's playing better than them in this song... i can't tell the difference between them 'cause i haven't listened to them enough, so i can't make an assessment on who's playing better, but movethatgroovethat wasn't saying that they were better than him... he was just saying they played better right here.

  • @movethatgroovethat Stfu you piece of shit. This isn't a contest you asshole. This is about making music not about childish immature games. Grow up and suck a cock your dumb chimp.

  • What we need is for SMV and G3 to join forces.

  • @smilefromthestreets7 that would be beyond belief i think i would cry if that happened

  • aiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight now.....play on!

  • Leave racism behind this is real talent just amazing :)

  • This is awesome. From a music perspective, usually too many basses muddy the sound. But by playing in different registers it works out. It's really odd that I hadn't heard this until now.

  • This stuff is genius!!!! It is amazing how these gentlemen play the same instrument and give each one its own voice, but they all blend into one awsome chorus of bass mastery!!!!

  • Do they play all this on 4 strings?

  • @Natejitsu Yes

  • Amazing. Simply amazing.

  • fucking bad ass bass playing

  • Can never have too many basses....

  • what the fuck LLOL you stupid haters, post a vid in response, let's see YOU do better since ur all acting like ur soooo good. :P this music is INCREDIBLE. pure talent.

  • fuck it the are good, fuck you all racist bastards

  • needs more cowbell

  • @DoleraBamboo I got a fever, and the only prescription, is more cowbell!

  • this is awesome i learned all 3 bassist roles in this and am gonna try to get my freinds to play this with me XD

  • And dont get me wrong flea is great, but any amazing jazz and funk bassist is much better than an amazing rock bassist

  • @TheLeggio

    flea studies jazz...

  • @CptChaos88 trust me i know, but he isnt soley based on jazz. Dont get me wrong flea is beyond incredible. But even you have to admit, most jazz bassists are better than rock bassists

  • definetly. and those guys are probably better than him. but anyway i like his style, his music and his personality. he's a humble person and a great inspiration; just like these three guys here.

  • @CptChaos88 Completely agree. i like how flea has both a rock and funk style

  • they are all truely amazing

  • dream trio come to life

  • La mueven

  • good

    not claypool good though

  • victors the best - let the arguements begin!! lol

  • shut up

  • come to south london croydon and say it to my face cunt monkey

  • Technically-Yes

    Groove and Feel-NO

    Marcus has that on lock.

  • music for heroes.

  • Dude flea is not that great, Sheehan, Trujillo, Claypool, Harris & these guys are way better, and thats only a few people

  • @alexlocurto: Aww comeon. You gotta at least give Flea SOME probs! He's got some skills. Plus, he's been studying music at UCLA for the past two years, so I'm expecting on the upcoming RHCP tour that he's going to kick some major ass :)

  • He definatley has skills I can say that much

  • @pianoman289

flea 's good and funky period. i dont like marcus but he sure is a good bassist

  • the sterio type is rite all rich black people have a bass :P

  • sterio type.

    Wow.

    I'm sorry, you're a fucking retard.

  • Amen man I agree

  • dont know about y'all but 2.55 to 3:00 and 3:50 killed me. So basically i am a ghost rite now. how do people get so good. darn!

  • it's a blessing that these titans of music put together this monster of a song.....can you imagine the fun they had, recording this and playing it live around the world last year.....wow i'm a fan forever.....

  • @Izajmusicman you are missing Les Claypool but otherwise definitely :P

  • S.M.V and flea are best bassist in the world

but this is only my opinion

  • u all r fucking racist bastards who thinks its weird!!! they r not the ordinary bassists from 'punk rock' bands! this stuff is so pure...amazing talent!

  • Thank you people need to look past the bullshit and follow the music

  • dood, just cuz someone dosent like them dosent mean their bad, for instince, i dont like them just for the fact there are no words there, i mean they're wiked good, but this is ot the kinda stuff i'd listen to everyday, so clm the frik down, u aint racist if u dont like a black guy if ya know what i mean, they're are some pretty funked up black guys out there, wink wink

  • @monkys56 Well I think that was a perfect reply to an offensive comment! but anyhow, as u said that their r no words?? trust me bro, ask anyone here "WHO" likes this or understands what music is, will agree with me that this music speaks to u in your language, whenever u listen to it...BUT still people love to criticize...we can never stop them..because its easier than appreciating anyone! :)

  • @ahadshahid amen brother :)

been in theyre show (it was my first show ever) and it was one of the best things I have ever seen!

as a bass player, this is one of those things that shows you how lucky you are playing a bass :)

  • @TheIceMan963 I really love wooten, miller and especially clarke.i am a bass player as well and was introduced to them through les claypool and his slap pop technique. these guys are the real deal and totally amazing musicians. anybody who denies that is just being ignorant.

  • @ahadshahid Agreed, this is amazing, but punk rock bands can have EXTRAordinary bass as well!

  • keep racism out of this you fuck head

  • @ahadshahid exactly, these are REAL bass players!

  • @ahadshahid Punk rock is crap..

  • @mitnavnerchristian Tell that to Flea

  • @mitnavnerchristian 21st century punk is crap but bands like the descendents ALL and black flag were punk but incorperated like all put some prog and funk in some of there songs and black flag were really experimental i love punk but you cant play forever it does get a little boring but i still like it but im not one those guys that only listen to punk my other favorites are jazz prog funk

  • Too bad jaco pastorius isnt around RIP

  • J.S.M.V

  • a jealous guitarist?

  • I would like to say you one thing : if you don't try to play hard stuff again and again and again, you'll never play it good and won't progress.

  • and it's a really good feeling when finally nail something you've been trying to get for a while

  • HOLY COW! THESE GUYS ARE AWESOME!!

  • great song ;P

  • love that picture. great song :)

  • awsome

  • viva boca carajo. que buen bajo

  • this is awesome

  • i can cum to this

  • easily

  • bass has evolved so much its ridiculous

take guys like these, or les claypool, or lou hamm, or billy sheehan, its amazing

  • lmao stu hamm my bad

  • are you kidding.. billy sheehan? he is no where near any of those others

  • i like him, but i guess im still kinda nub when it comes to bassists, ive only been playing for a few months

  • well dude your at the right place to start for just listening's sake. these are some incredible bassists. you should check out some bela fleck and the flecktones. i love bela and wooten's impecable chemistry in that band

  • Teah he is, sheehan is awesome, if you dont believe me listen to the song Elephant Gun, or Shy Boy, by David Lee Roth
