Thanks for the response; yeah, I realized that myself after I posted that when I'd seen him in an early performance. :-) He told the same jokes, but he told them straight and barely got any laughs.

So I guess this was his way of trying to make others laugh with him. :-) (I'll delete my previous comment since I now know [along with five others who agree...lol] that it's incorrect) :-)
