@amberthestylist It's really hard because if your not subscribing and getting comics like weekly, it just totally overwhelms you. I just find a great comic/graphic novel and read it. I can't keep buying book after book and find out some of story is lag. But I like your reviews btw, that's why I subscribed :)

Yes that's part of the story about how they have the most undying love for each other that they always return and die tragically.

I just read Blackest Night #5 and am a bit confused about the batman story. In final crisis (which i haven't read), it looks like batman died at the hands of Darkseid..sooo is this a story that happened in a parallel universe or is bruce wayne truly dead? if not, where's the real batman..

BN Batman is Dick but the Kevin Smith mini is Bruce. Bruce has not escaped the Omega Sanction (yet).

Yes i love Blackest Night! I feel the side stories with Batman, Superman and the Titans and still to come Flash and Wonder Woman. The series is picking up alot. As you probably know by now ****SPOILER INCOMING**** that the Black rings have finally reached 100%. And a mysterious Character named Nekron has risen. i'm really excited for issue 5. Also i read the tales of the corps. Issue 3 has a nice Kilowog story. Cheers. Msg me and we'll talk comics!

One other quick thing -

Thinking about zombie Aquaman, I wonder; if Arthur could influence living sea life before when he was alive, I wonder if this means he'll now be able to control extinct sea life? Now that would be cool to see.

But yeah, sorry for getting off. Good summary of the issue. Issue 2 can't come soon enough.

Nice review. I was really hit hard with the death of Carter and Shera. I mean...I love Hawkman, but I can't even be mad because it was so well done, and it's obvious that their death will mean something. Plus, knowing they are constant reincarnations...it should be interesting to see how that plays out during this whole storyline.

I can't wait for issue 2. I really love Aquaman, and the way Titans #15 is looking, we're gonna have Garth vs Arthur, and that's gonna be awesome.

Great review! I'm not much of a GL fan, so I'll be letting Blackest Night pass me by, though I may pick up the trade when it comes out. But it's nice to hear the next major earth shattering crossover is being written so well.

Great review as always. I would suggest skipping the spin offs completely and stick to anything that includes Geoff on the cover. We've seen how bad spin off can get *cough* Final Crisis.

So i was just browsing through the comics at the local comic shop and came across this issue because it was on the "recommended list", and overstocked in the front counter as well.. so it must be good, or all hype! well, I picked it up and will see for myself... sure was a hefty price though >:-(

I've been waiting to see Martian Manhunter as a Black Lantern and what he'd say and/or do. Blast I need to get this ASAP.

I figured there'd be some repurcussions of the "return" of Barry Allen.
