That is quite an epic sounding string bend there Robert.... quite a sound and quite a song!!! Caught him 2 years running on the Crossroads festival and he really is amazing!!
What a guitarist. and to think some idiots reckon he is not a true bluesman, bullshit he is as good as BB King or Albert King or Albert Collins, yes he is different to Elmore James or JLH or even Robert Johnson, but yeah he is a true bluesman.
I dnt listen to blues..but when I was suggested awhile bacl to look him up..I found this song and its so awsume...luvin the vibe i get off this song :D
you can see Bob standing back from the microphone, cos he shouts while he's playing... if you play his studio albums and listen carefully, it is sometimes audible - it is quite original, he puts all his soul into it!
Whether this live version or the one at Clapton's Crossroads festival, the calm and chilled out feeling you get from the song is just so good. It is my solace piece at the moment.
Cray is so spellbinding!!!!! I love the changes he makes on his guitar, not the same old 3 chord thing!!!! His Voice is Like an Angel to me!!!!! LOVE ME SOME ROBERT CRAY!!!!!!
Robert Cray is Mr Dependable, still making brilliant music after all these years rather than the good stuff just being in the past-what a great track.
For me he is near the top of my favourite blues guitarists, and what an incredible voice too! Superb, inventive and instantly recognisable guitar with great feel, tone and emotion. Thank you for this video.
Robert puts so much feeling in his solo...it's hard to find musiscians who play from within these days. There are so many songs from mr Cray that just give me the chills! The man will live forever :)
There are no words to describe how much I love this guy. His music, his singing voice, sound of his guitar, watching him work his magic.. Ofcourse entire Robert Cray band is to blame for this beatiful art. Never go away...
Only heard this song on Saturday Night on the radio at Planet Rock radio station. This song is pure genious. Brilliant. Can't wait to find out what the rest of hos music is like.
This song is so powerful. All at once I'm thankful for the current love of my life, I'm reminded of lost loves, and I remember how it felt to be alone, wishing I had someone to love. Just an amazingly emotional and beautiful piece of music.
I second FunkyNeil2000. Must see (Amazing) live and great guy in person as well. So many simple yet soulful, ear pleasing, emotional riffs. It's hard not to fell it.
This guy is great! Not just the solo playing. But what you don't appreciate until you see him live and especially if you are a guitar player yourself, is how amazingly complex his rythem playing is! Always moving, never still. Great player!
I was just in amazement this song just suck's you in and leaves you spellbound. I think Robert Johnson would be proud of where the music has gone I hope.
He never got the credit he deserved here in Europe. I'm from Belgium and never had the chance to go see one of his concerts. Still hoping to see him though!
I saw him in Denton, Texas outside at a jazz festival about 2 years ago and there were 4 magical songs in my opinion, this was one. It seemed they all melded together and it was like a symphony.
Cray didn't have the fire he had 20 years ago, who does, but he was doing magical things with that guitar sometimes that night.
First time hearing this song, I fell in love with this performer, he is amazing, and just so soulful. There is no words that could explain the feeling he portrays in this song. Amazing.
I Love this song!! Very emotional, saw it live, had tears in my eyes, and even now when I just hear it, I have to stop and listen. Robert Cray is one of the great ones of all time!!
Robert Cray is without a doubt one of the best story tellers/guitarists ever, absolutely beautiful! You can feel the mans soul in every song he writes just awesome!! Thank you so much for sharing this one!
Man, this is the greatest blues ballad I've ever heard! I just had chills running up and down my spine... great, simply masterpiece. One of never-dying classics.
I saw him at the Dome in Brighton last night too. Awesome gig. What a voice. He finished the gig with this song and brought the house down. How much soul can a man have. Mr Cray has loads and is willing to share it with everyone! What a performer!
Jeff Healy. Is dead. Just like Elvis is. Just appreciate his music like we did with "old swivel hips." Thats all. Prediction, I am good at these, the next, Stevie wonder. I hate to say. Stevie and the drums. What???
Comparisons. People... this only plants seeds of resentment and inadequacy from what is very different in style from each other. Think about it. Robert Cray, Eric Clapton etc... Two different styles, different guitar work. Please dont compare two greats that speak the same language. Think about it. Thats all.
this is true, though Clapton and Cray have done some fantastic pieces together, for example "Old Love" was originally written and performed by the both of them, but you're right, they do come from two very different areas, Clapton is solid blues, Cray is more the Soul side of things
Mr Robert Cray. Great song. Building emotion, vibrating trills, vocals of loss. One of the few post bluesman to make a significant crease. Good stuff. Keep goin man. Thats all.
