snooter.. if you noticed this is not a "free flowing" stream that powers the wheel. the water has to be pumped to make the wheel turn. and the wheel turning at the rate it does will not produce enough electricity to power the pump that make the water flow.
so Geeze... know what you are pointing out when you make a comment like this. It is not free energy being wasted but yes.. if we were living on a river that had a nice flow.. you bet.. hydro, wind and solar energy .. grid free living!
@jmm861 Even if it is not a free flowing stream some of the power that you are using to pump the water up there can be "recycled" for example.. you use 100 watts of power to pump the water up, you get a nice water wheel turning, the pond being filtered, and a nice stream down to it. ok.. You take a generator motor and throw it on that water wheel you will make what? 50 maybe 60 watts of power.. and you still have all the other benefits of filtering, the wheel, and the stream for half the power.
Now hook a generator up to that water wheel at the same time and make some electricity! Geeze, so many opportunities for free electricity and people dont use them?
