You shurely can't understand quality stands mostly on the musician. In other words, buy a TRB6 2P, Conklin 7, Ken Smith 6...the one that suits you (or use your 5 string Stringray...dyou own one?) and try playing 30 seconds of this piece. Then post it. Until then!

@franckbass I didn't want to be rude. I'm just sayin'. It's like Billy Sheehan. He wants so much out of the bass that he must went wrong while choosing an instrument. He could just picked up el. guitar and than he can solo the shit out of every song but who likes to groove and pump grabs bass. Bass is really misunderstood instrument and his role in music generally. There are no rules but it's NOT crafted for tapping and soloing. That's what GUITAR is made for. So, it's never late to switch.

@newoaklandlocal No I'm just saying that good bassist is equally hard to become as a good guitarist or any other player. And I just think that bass guitar is crafted that way and not very common to use it like this.

It won't happen on live show. Notes won't come out. I play live every second night. A lot of times PA is weak or tone isn't right and playing some tapping on bass would be stupidest thing to play EVER. Because it's NOT MEANT to DO THAT. Because guitar has been made in that purpose.

@Vanjal unless you use distortion like a guitar 95% of the time uses...cliff burton used distortion to tap and it came out just find..you just have to have strong hands..and sometimes clean..it comes out even better than guitar

@Vanjal you clearly have never played a well crafted bass. The fact is the bass is still an instrument in it's infancy. The bass is still an instrument with new sounds to explore. To say that the bass is not crafted for tapping or soloing is a rather small minded and frankly ridiculous point. Bass players like jaco pastorius , Matt garrison, victor wooten, stanley clarke, marcus miller, dominique di piazza are all outstanding soloists. Music is a discovery of sound.. Create don't replicate!
