  • @westyno6 The Twin Towers did.

  • Yes, I remember the 80s

  • Does anyone remember a jingle for Centrepoint (used in the late 80s - or maybe early 90s) that used to state that Centrepoint is "the tower of feeling"?

As a kid, I used to know Centrepoint as "the tower of feeling" and even sometimes (to this day) call it that. Would love to see that ad again - as I don't even remember the song anymore.

People have asked me "why do you call Centrepoint the Tower of feeling?" - I would love to show them that old commercial and say to them "because of this..."

  • It's way cooler now. It even looks a bit different. IT's a MEGATALL tower!!!!!!

  • This would have been far more difficult to build than the sydney harbour bridge, opera house, eureka tower and rialto towers.

Probably Australia's greatest ever engineering achievement, also given the year.

  • I used to repair and service The Original Lifts that used to go up to top between 1988-1991. I once had to climb all the stairs when all 3 tower lifts malfunctioned. I was also there when The Newcastle Earthquake happened.

  • @jorologo wow. you are a hero. why dont you tell us what you had for breakfast today.

  • @westyno6

I had Mushrooms and Eggs on Toast

  • @jorologo yeh....well thats like so yuk. i had like nutri-grain and banana. omg like my breakfast is way better than yours.

  • @westyno6

Your Breakfast is not so bad.

The Banana is nutritional as it has plenty of potasium as much as mushrooms do.

But as for the nutri grain, that is loaded with lots of sugar and way high in calories.

You'd need to go for a power walk to burn off those high calories.

  • eureka tower is better... AND it's taller

  • Good grief. I haven't heard that advertising jingle in 20 years lol.

You can go out on top and stand on a transparent platform that hangs over the edge. I did it in a gale force wind lol.

  • @8PhasmaPhasmatis8 whoaaa... you sound like a real thrill seeker. your really brave.

  • i thought it got bombed in 9/11 though? ? ? ? ?

  • Er no, we're not that famous/unlucky down here. Tower still standing... I saw it 2 days ago.

  • @westyno6 plus it wasn't a *world trade center*

  • @westyno6 haha wtf ? are you serious man...im pretty sure your thinking of the world trade center towers in new york...?

  • alain obert climbed that holy fucking shit

  • it iz an amazin tower no doubt . but i prefer de london BT tower.

  • Hello for the video details it should be Sydney Centrepoint Tower tower (formerely AMP tower)

  • Can you still go up there? I hear a rumour it'd closed down.

  • Maybe you're thinking about Luna Park in Sydney. Sydney Tower has been open forever, and it makes a hell of a profit.

  • Could be

  • definitly not, currently under huge renovations, tower still open though

  • Glad to hear that rumour isn't true

  • Goodwork GrubcoTV3. Living up in queensland you don't hear about centerpoint tower much now. I'd recommend veiwing Q1 at he goldcoast.

  • i was down there again today and skygarden and glasshouse are open as normal so they musnt be part of it

  • I was down there last week and all the shops in centrepoint have closed, westfield now owns the shopping centre as well as the inperial arcade, skygarden and the glasshouse and they are going to redevelop the lot - there were signs saying the tower will still be open but you wont be able to access it from centrepoint itself but from somewhere in market st

not sure if westfield owns the actual tower or not
