Satyricon have busted their asses consistently since 1991 (1989 if you count the first few demos without Frost), I think their last 2 albums were well-deserved breaks. If they want to expand upon their standard repertoire and fuck around with new styles that's their right as artists, fuck everyone saying they're sellouts. They've proven their intent, paid their dues and can do whatever the hell they want!

Out of all the black metal bands to honor Darkthrone, Nocturno Chose Satyricon? Well, i guess its before they made Diabolical, Now (god i wish i could wipe that album from history). But still, Satyricon was never an Inner circle band and didn't associate with the old black metal crowd. Yeah, my friend is a fan of theirs so he came up to me and showed me the title track and K.I.N.G., and i was wondering "What is this, its this black metal?" Seriously, Frost has WAY too much talent for that band, he need to to either do more with 1349 or just leave, because i guy who can hit 320 BPM is not honored on am album where there are little to no blast beats. These guys are sellout artists, and are a disgrace to black metal.

I never said Dimmu were the epitome of perfect black metal, and they are a disgrace. Cradle of Filth did the same thing, But Satyricon, they sold out their black metal style for a generic and talentless style. Those guys have talent, i will admit, but if they are not willing to push themselves and truly stretch the boundaries of their skills, then i have no time for them, and ill stick to Emperor, Mayhem, 1349, (old) Darkthrone, Thorns, Ancient Rites and all good black metal.
