  • king jeremy!

  • whats up with the bible verse genesis 3:6 about eating the forbidden fruit!!! can anyone explain please! whats the connection to this song!?

  • @dudechongpare Thank you for noticing. Just look up emotional abuse. This song is 1 of a kind: it deals with the problem of it, as Jeremy was a victim of it too. You`ll find the victim is always accused of being guilty for the abusive dominant`s feelings, therefore they have the right to abuse... They put genesis 3:6 here because the majority of women all over are still being dominated by men, who, for example in the Bible explain the origin of all the sins as a woman`s fault. I hope it helps.

  • @nishtabre I see O.o subliminal message. Check this out!

  • hmm! i cant post link, anyhow check this out Manchester Orchestra - Virgin

  • @dudechongpare

TY! It would be difficult for me to find out about this band, since I`m not into new rock-related sound. It`s a good song, and an excellent video. I really appreciate it.

  • @dudechongpare but where`s the message you saw?

  • if you disliked this video...you're probably too stupid to appreciate it! Go bask in your GAGA or BEAVER"heheh" crap......

  • ah the 90s how can i forget those teenage years where everyone was os laid back and everything that came out was so racy and then there was grunge :)

  • @LilWayneMetalGod Are you kidding me? Comparing that LiL wayne to Kurt Cobain and Eddie Vedder and say he's better than the two? Seriously, it just proves that you know nothing about REAL music. It's okay for you to call LiL Wayne great or like consider him as YOUR god. But to insult two of the greatest musicians of all time is unforgivable.

Kurt & Eddie >>>>> LiL wayne : That is not an opinion but a fact. & don't ever insult em' again. Go fuck a cow somewhere troll!

  • this video inspired BARRY DALE LOUKAITIS to shoot his classmate..hmm...

  • @LilWayneMetalGod can't tell if trolling or just very stupid .

  • for us who were kids listening to grunge, how lucky we were! looking at today's music trend, we still have a lot of reasons to flash that big grin....to us, 90s kids! lol

  • all of the kids who acted in this video, died 3weeks after the release.

  • I find this song very emotional and an anthem of anti-bullying. I don't know for you guys, but as for this Jeremy guy, what he did was an "act of heroism", it just shows that weak individuals like us shouldn't be treated like a bunch of trash by bullies.

Very Inspirational and Emotional piece by Vedder.

  • Is it me, or is Pearl Jam like, the 90s Backstreet Boys?

  • great fucking song isn't it?

  • i fine out another bully vid/track tantric's breakdown.

  • Looks like there are 207 bullies who watched this.

  • I miss MTV... the good, ol' MTV. Where they only play real, good music. Not some crappy shows like Jersey Shore and The Hills.

  • Bullies produces killers

  • It's very hard to be a very strong person, like jeremy, it likes everywhere he goes (home and school) nobody cares for him.

  • why don't parents give a fuck ?! , If youd ask a parent to watch this video Im sure 70% wouldn't .

rip jeremy and longlive pearl jam

  • My name's JEREMY :)

  • Bullying is not a problem.

    Resisting is not the answer..

But believing in yourself that you can be a better person.

    Its been 20years Jeremy.

BTW, many successful people are also victims of bullying.

  • @radicalgeetee LIKE KURT COBAIN...

  • reminds me of the days of getting 'bullied' and teased too... Ehh, I have never thought of doing what he did but... this vid is pretty accurate

  • EVERYONE, GO TO PAGE 2 OF THE COMMENTS. GIVE THUMB UP FOR LADYGAGA691 COMMENT, SO WE COULD PICK ON HER (LAUGH HER AND TEASE HER). IT'S OK, SHE WONT KILL HER SELF, SHE WONT GET IT :d :d:d:d:d: Get it?! :D :D :D :D :

  • CLASSIC!!!

  • the last grunge frontman.....

  • Man that sucks, not the song, but the fuck up story, can something like that really ruin u so much

  • serious lyrics

  • 3:31 - what's Vedder message?

  • Poor Jeremy.... :(

  • Its always the quiet ones... Seriously let this be a lesson to all you bullies. You just never know whether or not one day that kid you always pick on would bring a gun to school and shoot up your whole class.

  • Agreed. I was bullied through the first 6 years of my education years, and I had always thought that it would be better if I died and dragged them to hell.

But anyway, Jeremy here doesn't shoot up his whole class. He actually put the gun in his mouth and shoot himself. The blood in the end is his blood, not that of his classmates'.

    :)

  • @catman998877 i think he did'nt shoot his class...and umm....you probably should not pick on anybody, even the annoying ones.

  • Great song n great band. This is one of Pearl Jams best songs! Pearl Jam rocks!

  • Nice song! =) Great beat.

  • Great Song i have heard the story about the 15 year old kid though kinda sad but the part about biting the recess teacher breast is kinda funny

  • i dont get it

and who is jermey or whatever

  • a kid who shot himself because he was made fun of by kids and ignored by his parents

  • @LadyGaga691

i can see that you dont know sensible songs.......

  • "Try to forget this, Try to erase this, From the Blackboard." great way of wording that jsut sends shivers down my spine

  • Thanks for posting this! High quality video as well. Thank you!

  • The seminal song of the GenX era, stylizing the entire grunge movement without ripping out its soul. Nothing else comes close.

  • And many of us GenX'ers were victimized by bullies, as enough pre-Columbine adults didn't do shit about it. Even the adults blamed the victim for being too short, too skinny, too fat, too poor, too effeminate, too gay.

  • My doesn't Eddie look young =D

  • its about a true story. A 15-year-old boy named Jeremy Wade Delle, from Richardson, Tx who shot himself in front of his English class at Richardson High School in 91'. Eddie Vedder saw this in the paper so he wrote this song.

Delle walked to the front of the classroom, announced "Miss, I got what I really went for", put the barrel of the firearm in his mouth, and pulled the trigger.

When he says "jeremy spoke up in class today". thats what eddie's talking about, him killing himself.

  • I adore this song, and not many people know the true story to it. Thanks for posting it, I try to tell others too.

  • @TinyBlackHeart27 yes but the song also includes some moments when eddie was in 5th grade and had some conflicts with a kid in school which in the end shot a couple of time on a class

  • you stupids...BLA-BLA-BLA!

  • oh man so crazy

  • god i love this video

  • guys, just stop talkin bout the military, i dont agree with it, but the men and women who fight in it are pretty brave, but war is wrong, so evreybody just agree to disagree

  • you suck

  • you should remove your pinis from your anus and go jump off a cliff

  • @LUBEGUYZ

If he can get his penis into his anus, are you implying that his penis is large enough to reach his anus? That would be a compliment.

  • remove my penis from my anus...so are you implying that a penis comes from your anus? if it comes from yours, im deeply sorry

  • yu shud reely lern hauw too spel befor yu poss comets heer.

  • What are the military men at 0:50 supposed to symbolize?

  • it stands for how gay anyone in the military is and how the military is one big gay orgy

  • Thats right, feed the troll...

  • and your comment stands for how gay you must be to post such a stupid comment

  • by military men.... do you mean like jeff ament the bass player for pearl jam and the rest of the people from pearl jam lol?

  • it is actually about a kid killing people, along with it being about Jeremy delle, it is about a kid named brian who was antagonized like Jeremy, by schoolmates (including Eddie Zedder) and shooting up the school

  • to think kids did this. no one understands how bad he must've felt. pearl jam did an amazing job on the vid and lyrics. (the kid playing jermey actually looked like him) he must have been dying inside. he felt like there was no way out. i agree w/ afrieinside, he needed change and he know he couldn't change the kids, he had to do something. but i dont think he did it to prove a pt, i just think he felt like there was no way out.

  • =[ poor kid noone cared about him

  • whoa...nazi salute for a split second at 3:32

  • There's more than a split second in the uncensored version, plus censored stuff at the end.

    watch?v=bBoTYK9UgRg

  • i saw that too

  • For all you people who say its about a kid killing people...No, its about him killing himself. The Jeremy character is smart enough to know that killing others wont change anything. He takes the persona of the "Tragic Hero" and kills himself to prove a point. (You can even tell by the blood splatter in the children in the end, frozen in shock.) Just to clear things up.

  • the sad thing about this video is i know a lot of kids like him

  • each time that I hear this song I just can to think in the real history of jeremy; is so sad to see how there's so much people totally alone, ignored for all the other people in their world... this song is more than a simple song. from pearl jam the best gift for jeremy.

  • I found on google that this has to do with schizophrenia.

  • @dieguetti you googled pearl jam?? plz stop watching their videos. you dont deserve to. i cant believe you said that. im ashamed.

  • everyone says poor kid stupid parents and stuff but come on! if you were in his class and you didnt like him and you were mean you wouldnt have known.they all thought it was harmless.its not like it was ALL theyre fault even a friend couldnt have stopped it

  • yea i understand what u mean v.v its sad but the truth

  • this is truly a sad song.. because if ppl would have paid attention to this boy he wouldnt have killed himself

  • Cooldude, are you sure that's the message of the song? I was sure it had something to do with banana farming.

  • this song is fuckin' amazing!

  • eddie vedder tiene cara de psicho en este video

  • es por lo q dice en lq cancion

  • goin to the concert

  • The guitars playing at the same time remind me of the Byrds.

  • harmless little fuck ... stupid censor... stupid commercial media groups ... just burn them all

  • BORED, BLACK, NUMB, DISTURB, PROBLEM CHILD, WICKED, he said it didn´t matter, THE UNCLEAN SPIRIT ENTERED, E R A S E ... U.U

  • Unfortunately the press in the US linked this video to Columbine's school shooting when it's the story of a suicide. Google Jeremy Wade Delle of Richardson, TX. Vedder heard the story and penned this song.

  • it says rare cause the video was actually banned in alot of places because it came out after columbine and was considered controversial.

  • If it really was rare, it would be the version of him putting the gun in his mouth, this version gives away the feeling that he killed his classmates rather than himself.

  • actually this song came out wayy b4 in like92 and columbine was in 99....jus so ya know

  • a gaze blank and pitiless as the sun.....

  • why does it say rare, i saw this video like a thousand times , it was the 3rd video off the album after alive and evenflow

  • i read an article about this and its actually about a young lad who was taken out of a psychiatric hosp too early an was living with his dad who was too interested in his new wife to care about his son. Pretty sad like. Awesome song tho

  • Its mainly about a kid who killed himself in front of his classmates, Jeremy Wade Delle.

  • yeah.. really sad like

  • na he killed his classmates n he might have killed self idk

  • Eddie read an article on a newspaper which was about Jeremy Delle who put a gun to his mouth and shot himself in Richardson High School in Texas. The song is also about a kid who Eddie used to bully whe he was in school hence the line "clearly i remenber picking on the boy".

  • he never knew the kid

  • no he didn't. there's a reference to another kid he knew when he was in 5th grade though.

  • no one is listening to the kid so it sounds like he finds other ways of expresing his disappointment with the current reality.

  • asi sea.

  • Lol some of peoples storys of what this song is about are just funny to read

  • 3:45 his face is so freakishly cool!

  • Thats the most devilish face you will see in your whole life.

  • Great song, the music video is a little strange on its meaning though. All I got was about a kid who is always picked on alone and blows his brains out infront of the class.

  • great... i love this song... 90' rock music is the greatest...

  • The song is about not letting societal influences affect what you do. Don't let other kids bully you, grow up and become stronger than them.

If you like my interpretation or agree with it, please reply or thumbs this up to let me know :)

  • IM AGREE

  • Ya I agree bullys are big douche bags so I feel really bad what happened to poor Jeremy who was bullied but his classmates also described Jeremy as "acting sad" thats what I dont understand was he depressed? Thats how I see Jeremy when he died. Pearl Jam wrote this song when they saw a newspaper article when a sophomore shot himself in front of his class. The song is mostly about Jeremy

  • It is very strong content of the topic, a few hours ago we did something regrettable in the town of Mariano Moreno sucidó where a boy of 14 years in school compared to their peers and teachers. What about the family containment? Q If there is ...?!

  • 90s i miss u ...come back pls come back

00 is a corporate sellout capitalist piece of shit period

  • The Spice Girls and N*Synch would certainly disagree with you.

  • One of Pearl Jam's great songs.

  • i got my name from this song =]

  • Wow, so you're gonna grow up to be some loser who shoots up a school?

  • he didn't shoot up a school smartass. he only shot himself

  • Fyi He shot himself

  • This video's about a kid named Jeremy that was very depressed and came to class to shoot himself in front of everyone. The singer for Pearl Jam was a kid in that class and bore witness to this so he wrote this here song. At least I think it was the singer... I don't know, one of those dudes. But yeah and he had bullied a different kid when he was younger andfelt it was connected to Jeremy's suicide. That's what this video is about. Not a very happy subject, I'm sure.

  • he read about jeremy's suicide in the newspaper, explaining the introduction with the news clippings.

the singer also had an altercation with a peer when he was younger. the student went on to kill himself, and pj used this song to come to terms

  • Yeah because eddie vedder was in school in 1991. Get your facts right loser.

  • Haha, the school was in texas anyway.

  • ball stain

  • nutt sweat

  • Its very rude to use that language on a video like this. take your language somewhere else. Thanks.

  • nah. you have most of it right.. but none of them were students there.. he wrote this after he read a newspaper article about it

  • Comment removed

  • wot is this video about??

  • a kid killing himself because his classmates fucked him up mentally through bullying

  • In the real story of Jeremy, he only killed himself. Search Jeremy Wade Delle, and there's newspaper articles on it.

  • I think he still only kills himself here.

  • On January 8, 1991, Jeremy Delle, a 15-year-old sophomore who had recently transferred to the school, killed himself with a .357 Magnum in front of his second-period English class. After coming into class late that morning, he was told to get an attendance slip from the school office. He left and returned with a .357 revolver. He walked to the front of the class and announced, "Miss, I got what I really went for." Delle then put the gun into his mouth and pulled the trigger.

  • Ohh, arrogance of the religious preachers. When will they become extinct?

  • Dude, science is modern days equivalent to a religion, just get the fuck off your high horse, and get on with it.

People can believe what they like, I was raised a catholic, but I'm one of the least religious people you will meet - I chose my own path, I have my own set of beliefs.

Stop preaching and whinging because people don't believe in god or jesus, it's just fucking pathetic.

  • this is the cool version of scott stap

  • fail.

  • THE BEST SONG EVER MADE EVER EVER ;)

  • AMEN BROTHER!!!!

  • I thought he sang "Jeremy's strokin' in class today". He been strokin'!

  • i was living in dallas when this kid shot himself

  • Real Music -

  • i love this song and pearl jam rocks XD

  • I absolutely love this song. It is amazing. And in case no one else noticed it is a true story about a boy named Jeremy who was abused and picked on by his classmates and family. Jeremy then walked into his english class at school and pulled out a gun and shot himself dead. It is a sad but inspirational story. Showing how people shouldn't hurt others with hateful words and bullying.

  • How can you say Pearl jam is an awful band? That's just ignorance.

  • the only reason he posted that coment is because he wants pearl jam fans to get pissed off hes such a dumbass :D

  • Dude even if u somehow hate the band, this video was based off of real life and should teach u somethin

  • how the fuck can you say that shit pearl jam had talent more than those fags on the damn radio

  • Daddy didnt give attention to the fact that mommy did'nt care.. hell yes its about child abuse, and peer preasure. jermey has spoken by blowing his brains out.

  • I wish they had the original video. People can get confused on this one

  • "It came from a small paragraph in a paper which means you kill yourself and you make a big old sacrifice and try to get your revenge. That all you're gonna end up with is a paragraph in a newspaper. Sixty-three degrees and cloudy in a suburban neighborhood. That's the beginning of the video and that's the same thing is that in the end, it does nothing nothing changes. The world goes on and you're gone.

  • when i was in seventh grade a kid went and shot him self in front of the entire school, that is one day i will never forget, he was popular and one of those kids

  • This is the greatest Pearl Jam song! its got everything going on in here!

  • Could someone please tell me why the original MTV channel quit playing videos which drove away most of their viewers ? This is the equivalent of HBO not showing movies or Las Vegas getting rid of its casinos. What's the scam here ? Anyone, anyone ?

  • Who knows? It's basically telling it's audience to screw itself.
