  • Doug, Do you know if Chet's grandson plays any ? Or any of his family ? Just Curious. Thanks ever so much. Merry Christmas.

  • Such beautiful, rich tone and melody. Thanks for posting this vid!

  • Like a little taste of heaven.

  • @TheAcousticMetal Well said!

  • ""He will NEVER be equaled.""

Thanks again Doug for your comments about Mr. Guitar.

    How so very true.

  • @maurieer Chet thought Tommy Emannuel could. It is unfair to compare different styles. Chet is the best Chet Atkins player there is, but there are other wonderful players as well.

  • @MerlynSchutterle

I agree and should have stated that in my comment.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

    Gene

  • I absolutely loved that!

  • @daffydoug

In a Mexican radio station, back in the 60's this melody was the last one when the program was over.

Me and my Mother enjoy it and she was looking for the record disk but never find it.

Today I want to say thank's a lot, a very lot to daffydoug because he/she gives me a great memory to my Mother (she past the way 8 years ago) and I almost cry.

Sorry if my English is not good enough, but I'm trying.

  • One of the finest pieces of guitar music ever recorded, by anyone, ever. I have 2 copies of this on vinyl.

  • The vocabulary of the guitar is wonderful. The fine performance that feels leading life.

  • I own just about all of Chet's albums. Every one of them is special. But my favorite is probably the "Hollywood" album.

However, the album that originally got me started playing Chet's style was "Fingerstyle Guitar". For years I wondered "How did Chet do that" on so many of those tunes. All of my pickin' kept me off of the streets when I was growing up.

Thanks Chet and thanks for posting so many of these wonderful songs, Doug.

  • @meangene1000 Chet's music kept me clean as a youth while other kids were turning into potheads. Thanks Chet. You'll always be loved, remembered and appreciated.

  • Man, did Radiohead 'borrow ' from this song heavily or what... (Exit Music) watch?v=iMqXj-eVCjI

  • I have this on CD even, and my god how much better it sounds on nice speakers, this really doesn't do this beautiful song justice. His guitar tone is like no other.

  • @Vrbaski Yup. Chet's tone set him apart, and added greatly to his uniqueness.

  • So very relaxing and beautiful; As always. Thanks

  • Anybody notice right before 2:00 mark its sounds like the theme from stepbrothers? HAHAHA after the family breaks up and there all doing there separate shit I think they ripped the melody right from chet....will ferrell must be a fan...lol

  • Al Hirt did another great version of this beautiful song on his 1962 "Honey in the Horn" album.

  • this is heaven. today was such a rough day, it brought peace to my mind... :)

  • thank you daffdoug-im in tears, caus for me it says it all-qball

  • I'm with you all. Can't listned most times without crying

  • I cannot find the composer of this music. Does anyone kow?

  • in very rare instances can you hear a soul playing. chet always played his soul out to us mortals. this is as good as it gets. we can die now konwing we heard Gods voice speak to us.

  • I have been listening to Chet play some extremely beautiful music like this,

for a long time. The ones that can jerk tears from your eyes...and mine too!

  • I'm a player and a Chet lover,

first time I heard this ethereal piece, my god it is wonderful! Chet i miss you so much....I hope you and leorna are together

  • Wow...this one of the most beautiful exotic instrumentals of all time. I also like Al Hirt's mellow trumpet version. Does anybody out there know the exact history of this composition? Is it a theme from a movie? TV? I love it.

  • this is amazing, such skill, haha makes me wanna play my guitar more

  • is this the exact version that is on the hollywood album? if not, where did this one come from?

  • @willjb90 Chet recorded two Hollywood albums. I've been posting cuts from both albums.

  • My God I can't believe it, it's not from a human being to play like this. These are the fingers of God himself playing!!

  • @1loboestepario Chet WAS a god when it comes to guitar.

Doesn't this theme sound like it came down from heaven?

  • You're absolutely right.

  • @1loboestepario Gods gift to the man!

God is good, all the time. But when he made Chets fingers,

he must've broke the pattern There willl never be another...

  • @MrCarlHaynes I got to shake his hand once and touch the fingers that made the magic. One of the most awesome moments of my life.

  • It's strange, beautiful and intriguing. A great interpretation by Chet. Another great version is Al Hirt's Honey in the Horn album.

  • Piękna. A o czym to jest, to niech sobie każdy z nas sam opowie swoją historię....

  • A few molds have been broken recently. I just love guitar played by anyone with a passion. Amateurs or pros. I quite like hearing the mess-ups, the bum notes, the human side. Gives the rest of us an edge. Know what I mean?

  • @Rikk303 no no i do not

  • @KnDStudios I just meant that when heroes hit the odd duff note, you know perfection isn't really necessary

  • This song in Beatiful!!!

  • perfectly

  • Chet Picker Very nice comment!

A better way to put this & more accurate is

"The Music was always in him, he just lets it pour out on hid guitar"

Something like Amedeuas Mozart did, oh, and did I speel that right?

It's our guitar playing that counts right, an

    Amazing universal lsnguage!

    Jeff

  • for my movie project, this would be great for the end credits.

  • what year was this song released cause I'm doing a movie project on the fifties and I sure hope that this is from that period.

  • Flawless!

  • King of 'em all y'all....

  • I have not seen a collection such as this before. There are so many of Chets masterpieces on here that I've not heard before. Thank you so much for making it available.

  • You are more than welcome! I have literally hundreds more to post if only I can find the time!

  • wonderful!

  • Truly Beautiful. It always amazed me how he could pour his feelings through his fingers. Thanks for posting.

  • It's so true, there will never be another one like Chet. Just listen...

  • Good music to stare out to sea with....

  • good music to stare at just about anything thing with.... i think it makes everything look epic while i listen to it

  • "The melody is mysterious and beautiful"

  • This song put to sleep a many nights as a kid.

    Love Chet ----- Always

  • LOL! I liked your comments, True that you can't top the one and only Chet Atkins!

  • Thanks for posting.

Yes, it is dreamy and "and Chet captures the mood perfectly."
