I have this on a plain white 7" (no etchings or writing) with Purple Bottle on the other side. This is an amazing cover, the strumming and voice have a lot of emotion in them. After listening to this and then the original right after, I like Animal Collective's version more because it's darker and I like the strumming more.

When someone does a cover, a good cover, the expectations are for the band/person to make it their own song pretty much. Animal Collective obviously did that.

AC is an amazing band, but I'd say they kind ruined this song. I love all of their music but this just wasn't one I enjoyed.

that said, this is pretty good. Love Animal Collective, used to be a huge fan of Nirvana, too (not saying they're bad, just saying I over-listened to them), and I'd say this is a pretty good interpretation of the song.

Any dope with a guitar (me included) who can strum four chords and sing can play the original song, no, this doesn't sound much like the original, but he's not off beat. Animal collective definitely takes some getting used to for a lot of people. At first I didn't know what to think of their music, but later on I thought about it and I wanted to listen to it again. Now, it grows on me a little more everytime i listen to it.

i can see why people dont like this version of the song, but i find it more intriguing then nirvana's version (which i also loved). the broken sounds of the guitar and avey's "beaten down by the world" tone makes this version more haunting in my opinion. it is a very different interpretation but a very accurate one nonetheless.. even though you dont like it.. thanks for postin it :)
