@shadowlurker520 yes it could , it also could because of the throttle body being dirty too , but there are several other causes too clean them , and reset the computer , and cross your fingers , you might get lucky ...search my channel , I have a video on how to turn off a check engine light , without a scan tool , but if the issue is still there , it will come back on ya know ...newer cars will also trip the light over a loose fuel cap , they are picky now days ...
HELLO MY NAME IS ROBERT I WAS WONDERING WHY DOES MY TRUCK SOUND LIKE ITS SUCKING IN WATER THROUGH MY THROTTLE BODY IT SOUNDS LIKE A COFFEE POT NOISE. MY TRUCK IS A '03 MERCURY MOUNTAINEER 4.6 PREMIER. PLEASE GET BACK TO ME. THANK YOU
@lexusfan100 flood the entire thing down good , just let it dry before turning the ignition switch on in the vehicle , that take less than 5 min too btw , this stuff does dry really fast , just a small bit of dirt you can not even see will cause these things to have issues sometimes too
Hi! I was wondering how does one ungunk the electrical connector to the MAF sensor? I'm having trouble with undoing it and I'm afraid to break something. Its an oldie, so I'm assuming it hasn't been touched for awhile. Its a 1999 Kia Sportage. Any suggestions would be awesome.
@MyOddThoughts unplugging it or getting the old grease out of the socket ? if unplugging it seems like a bad idea , you should be able to clean it installed , and never unplug it , as for cleaning old grease from the connector CRC makes electrical parts cleaner for that , and most walmarts even carry it in the auto section
thanks for that one son ,im an old dynosaur and only just gone over to sensor cars,i will catch the rest of your vids as i just got a vauxhall omega ,pontiac /chevy 2.0ltr im on the other side of the pond ,and am elling my 22 year old ford .
@oobuc5 well that's great to have another viewer from across the pond , and glad I was of help to you , that's why I make the videos , and it is even better to get these thank you messages ....THANK YOU FOR WATCHING !!
great looking crown vic. Hard to come by one that is nice. Most are auctioned police vehicles. Anyways, could I use CRC's electronic contact cleaner? Its plastic safe and leaves no residue.
Awesome, looks like this will work for my 1993 Town Car. I thought I needed a tamperproof bit to open up the MAF housing, but not if I can do it like this. Thanks.
@CallistoAshus yeah you have to have the bit to take it out they say , I have the bits , but for a clean it is a waste of time 100% also while you are at it do the throttle body , and the idle air control valve , I have videos of that as well , should get you headed in the right direction , subscribe while you are at it , might get some laughs , and pick up some car tricks along the way too ... thanks for watching !
@Deyo99 I have a video on changing the coil packs on this car and the plugs are under them , so that should take care of that one, but unless It was an odd option , I have never seen a cabin air filter on any police package crown vic , send me a private message , and I can hook you up with some links that should help you out , as for the ball joints , almost all ball joints change the same , I can send you a link to a fellow youtuber that can help with a video on that ,all mine are in good shape
it was a mistake on myself. while the engine is on, on my 95 accord i pulled out the map sensor then the engine idle up and down. I put the sensor back, and when i see the dashboard MIL is on. I turned off the engine. I started it again, but the idle up and down still there..any help pls?
@RMR1989Rico yes engine off ,during any cleaning , maf or throttle body , keys in pocket ...in your pocket is important if you like your fingers , someone could turn it over ya know
@yungngmb1 nope that would most likely be an alternator issue , try taking the thing off , and cleaning the metal mating surfaces down to clean shinny metal , then apply a small amount of grease to them , and reinstall , might not be a bad idea to get it tested while off the car too , they have diodes that can go bad and cause the noise , and the battery drain , so that is the two most likely things , and both are free to do
my car was shaking at stops and traffic lights, and if let go long enough would cut off. I took it to Meineke and they said there was a Mass Air Flow they replaced it and the next day it did the same thing. They replaced it again and it did the same thing. They said it was a re-manufactured part. Would it have been better to get a brand new part from Toyota?
@blakeker was the issue just at idle ? if not I bet that was not the issue in the first place , a bad part out of the box does happen , but I have only seen 2 in a row happen once !
@towrecker It was only when the car was at a stop, like a stop sign or a stop light. The car would shake a little, then when I gave it some gas it would lose acceleration power and take a few seconds to gain acceleration back.
@blakeker hdr-550 handycam most likely , thats my favorite one , or it might have been the hdr-xr100 , I can't remember on this vid which one I used , I can remember on some videos if you are doing the camera shopping thing , pm me and I will send ya the links to vids , and what camera they were shot with , I just can't remember on this one sorry lol
Napa usually = expensive. this is the down side to Chevrolet they aren't that easy to get to on them they actually come off easier but it's down in the tube a ways on them
@towrecker oh yeah it's easy and i probably should clean mine, i've never done it actually on any of my vehicles , if it helps with the gas mileage too then i deffinately need to go grab a can our mileage is sucking big time
@prayb4udie $362.00 , but you , will never find one like this one for that , it has a story , and I put a paint job on it , look back in my vids over a year ago , you can see it when I first got it , and as it came along ...
@prayb4udie so you don't care about looks , just how it runs the most , well you can find one under 500 easy if you just look lol , but nice ones don't come that cheap as a rule ever lol
Ive used quite a few crc products good stuff! I know people that have used carb cleaner on the maf, and some ive seen it melt the plastic. I think most of them run around 200 bucks or so

if your sensor is messed up ...can that also lead to problems with your battery like ..random turn signal noise and draining the battery
