SOO KEWL IF A HEARD OF THESE DESCENDED ON A BUSY SHOPPING MALL AND CHASED CUSTOMERS LIKE RAPTORS DO ONLY TO BE FOUGHT OFF BY GUYS IN TRANSFORMER SUITS. I KNOW I WATCH TOO MANY MOVIES BUT SERIOUSLY.
God those kids are lame. I was obsessed with dinos from when I was about four years old. This would have been the best damn day of my childhood. I would have run under the rope and tried to ride it!
What is with the grey pants in all of them? Have they ever heard of black? or somethign that matches the dino. but I love the actors in them, they actual go for realistic like charging and stuff and not being cuddley like a dang cat or something. I want a raptor suit like this so dang badly haha
@Kkyyrruu in the show the floor's gray and the setting is quite dark..so sometimes it is really well camoflauged witht he floor and they are are always moving all about and you actually sit quite far away from them, so it's not that obvious after you start to concentrate on the action and stuffs.
Continuing off of hack451's comment, it would be possible to use digitigrade padding, but then it would be very thick, and not realistic at all. Honestly, that's one of the best costumes I've EVER seen.
I see a lot of people complaining about the visable legs, but there's just no way to get the effect of the skinny bird legs while wearing something like this. The only way I could even think of it working would be to put the guy on a pair of stills. Even then you couldn't get the degitigrade effect.
@femoman Not nessisarily, I've seen guys run and even do backflips on short stilts.... though it wouid then require an acrobat instead of just the puppeteer.
$.$ i want to scare the crap out of my friends at school everyone would be screaming "HOLY CRAP ITS A T-REX!!" or "SOME ONE CALL THE ANIMAL CONTROL!!" or "SOMEONE CALE 911!!" XD
i'm hoping to make one in a few months. it's hips will be high but its body would be kinda low so my legs and head would be inside. it's toes and up to its ankles will be wood with joints so it'll be realistic and i wont have to walk on my toes, and it'll stand at probably about 6' 2" or 6' 3" at the head when it's just standing. it'll be able to turn, raise, and hopefully lower it head, as well as open its mouth, with just some thread. If i make it i'll put up vids so watch for them! kthnxbi
@RLgamer13 I noticed that, like...5 minutes into watching the dinosaur at the time I was actually there. Weird, huh? Hopefully they did a better job covering that up for the actual show.
@yaaah25 In the show it's shot on a stage the same color with dim lighting so it's near invisible but for the dinos to have accurate articulation it was necessary to put the actors legs like that. But they don't show up in the live Walking with Dinosaurs.
@TheresNotEnoughSpace Dunno, but they mixed these smaller children with late-middle school and high school children. I think they were trying to cater to everyone, but even I admit it was a bit much.
It doesn't matter how scary the suit looks or acts, a child between the age of 5 and 7 would find a doggie mascot terrifying, because they're at the age where they know its not real, but they dont know its just a person
@TheresNotEnoughSpace Because the show isn't for kids. It's for people who want to learn about prehistoric fauna and see realistic representations of current scientific theory on their biology and behaviour. Just because 'dinosaur' is in the title, every lazy parent and marketer slaps the label 'for kids' on it.
Dinosaurs =/= Kids. They're intelligent prehistoric predators, not Barney.
@xhmoobx Yeah, neither did I until I turned the cam off and got a good look for myself. He had tight, gray pants on. :/
This was during a middle-school trip. The smaller children were preoccupied with the dinosaur, and the older kids were more preoccupied with the bulge in the man's tight pants that revealed itself when me made certain movements with the dino costume. -_-
Oh My God! They're alive! hahah, it's awesome! So realistic it made the kids cried. I wonder if the robot will go nuts and started to attack everyone.
Omg ahhhhhhhh he( or she) ate a guy and it's legs are hanging out of his stomic.
