They were both amazing, in their own way. Neither could be duplicated.  Louise had such a gorgeous speaking voice, it is too bad she didn't do many talkies. Clara's voice wasn't bad, but she did have a rather prominent accent. Both of them were just too fun, vivacious and flirtatious to ever be as popular during the depression as during the Roaring 20s.
