I can understand if the snail uses it in life or death situation for protecting itself from a predator, but not for killing an innocent fish! with missiles like those!!! He probly can kill a WHALE with his dagger!
why do they need such powerful venom? I understand there slow and stuff but do they need a venom with such toxicity that it can or has killed humans withing minutes to an hour? i don't understand nature sometimes or why God made things a certain way.
because the fish it kills can move very fast fast compared to the snail so it needs to paralyse them instantly so they can't get away, and it has evolved a very clever poison system to do this. The poison works by stopping the fish's nerve impulses being transmitted and has the same effect in humans.
@supervixen404 it's because of the natural selection which Darwin explains in his theory....... a specie which has a more powerful venom, has more probably to get a prey and is the specie which will survive to have descent.....(so that specie has been selected in the evolutionary process)

As far as i know the cone snail venom is so deadly that you dont even live to realise it got you. But i may be mistaken, as i only heard about it.
