  • ... lost my breath!! thanks again!!

  • ian could pass himself off as one of the pythons...he looks like he'd fit in with that lot.

  • Thank you Ian and Tull, for over 40 years of passionate and original music!!!

  • I haven't heard a hit from this band in years.

  • @ndhan72 Do you really care about hits? I care about good music...

  • Still one of England's all time great rock bands.

  • last night i went out...to a real irish drinking bar...now its hitting 2 am and that fat broad with more chins then the hong kong phone book aint looking so bad ...

i bought her a few beers and she asked for a ride home even though she lived three blocks away...

  • Brilliant song.

  • ian crazyman.

  • anderson is a crazy guy, no doubt about it.

  • Not sure but I think Jethro Tull got the first Grammy for heavy metal.........DUH...They are in a whole different catagory

  • @mick053 hehe right, they are... but consider that the category itself has changed too.

  • @mick053 No. The flute IS a heavy, metal instrument.

  • I play flute, and my only purpose is ability play like this someday.

  • @MsUncontroled well.. good luck for that :)

  • @MsUncontroled

most flute players are bald...i wonder if all that blowing ...blows your follicles out of your scalp...

i would not play flute...didnt want to be bald...so i play piano and guitar..but i was a good flute player back in the day

now i am an old fart but i have more hair then most geezers my age...big deal...i am broke and a mega loser

  • @ChiroQuacker Haha! I hope that isn't true for girl flute players too. Galway seems to have a whole set of hair. My hair is still on :)

  • Ian you're absolutely a genius!!!

  • Born in '47 Ian. 50-ish! ;¬p Geniusmanship, of the first order right here. Superb.

  • @wordreet this was in 2005... but still. :)

  • @NaudaOfTheSilverHand Sure, but what I'm saying is that Ian's 5 years older than me, and I'm 57!!

  • He blew his voice out in the mid eighties, but with therapy , tech advancement and superb writing, I ain't missin' a thing.

  • What he has lost of his voice he has gained in more flute ownation

  • Just amazing...right on Ian.

  • Rock God !! Ian and Jethro Tull will live on forever !!

  • I think his voice now is much better than he had back in 80s.. But of course 70s Jethro Tull was the best.. They still rock.. JTULL FOREVER..

  • exceptional!

  • No key changed it was C, but right he hardly singed, but its normal cuz he is old now, rather then he played his flute. But it was fantastic!

  • his musicianship transcends time and genres. a true genius.

  • @2stroke1971 I told a friend of mine that anybody who plays an instrument should see Ian Anderson. A musicians musician.

  • @sandinsheets The best advise this person will ever get!

  • they changed the key from c to a? because of his voice?

  • It's in the same key.

  • Why do everybody have a beef about his voice? Nobody who´s sixty can be as good singer as he was thirty years ago, that´s of course. But sings still well.

  • @hugodraslik ...you're right of course......but he still really sounds good....just a different way, but still sounds the same!..

  • Stonkingly powerful performance, Ian Anderson is more awesome than ever!

  • Just.....FANTASTIC!!

  • Genial con Jetho o sin ellos , la verdad es un gran Maestro!!! Ian , love you!!!

  • Jethro came twice to Costa Rica. First time, Ian was sitting on a wheel chair, but insisted on playing!

That's a real musician, a man that really loves music and has taken rock and roll to newer heights.

  • my god he turned a flute into something of the rock and roll....genius....

  • Once in an interwiew he said "flute is a heavy metal instrument". :)

  • Yes, it was circa 1987-88 after they had won a Grammy in the heavy metal category for Crest of a Knave. I believe Metallica was one of the runners up.

  • They actually had a poster made that perceived the flute to be one, after they were awarded a Grammy in the Heavy Metal genre.

  • He will never be too old to rock and roll. Thank you Ian Anderson!

  • 40 yrs. of GREAT music ! ! ! ! !-PRICELESS-!

  • Ian is still great! 40 will be 50 or more i think, i hope! :)

  • uncle ian owns flute rock.

  • :) He said once: "the flute is a heavy metal instrument"

  • Incredible!

  • absolutely :D
