  • This review is kinda outdated. The seats fold down 60/40 in mine.

  • Check out my review of my new Cruze:

    /watch?v=tIRJxUf2Y_o

  • Elantra I just dont like them ....my folks have a 2009 civic the ride is like a 1990 civic.... well Toyota has gone the way of GM as far as quality. Ford seems to have gotten wise with the Focus. But if you ask me....all cars are shit now days.

  • took it for a ride, awesome blows the corolla right out of the water

  • I would buy it if it isn't a chevy.

  • @columbuscrewfan20 Take a test drive.. you'll love it.

  • Just steering wheels that fall off...

  • its a good looking car

  • foreign products are foreign profits. Toyota and Honda would not build their products here if they didn't make profit, tax and make Americans think its OK to buy Foreign products. itisaboutus.kom Mr. Obama has been talking about American jobs, American made, American industry, America industry. That excludes foreign assembly. Notice California is Import rich but ready to go Bank rupt, because the profits leave this country. And CA likes to support illegal immigrates. visit itisaboutus.kom

  • This car is much better than a Cobalt but GM's inconsistent quality for building small cars has already hurt the Cruze's resale value. Its been rated the lowest of all the small cars after 3 and 5 years in ALG residual value. Its a good effort, but theirs nothing that makes me want to buy this over the competition and that makes it forgettable next to the new Focus, Elantra, and Civic

  • I hate Honda's and Toyota's and Nissan's mostly cause the Taliban and al-Qaida drive them so they don't support America at all. I will be be happy to own a Cruze I must say the little kid in me really wants a G-8 GT but being retired maybe a 6spM cruze will be fun enough. Stick up for America ,at least if you live their.

  • @60viking

oh whatever, most Honda's and Toyota's are built in America and each of those companies has a specific operations for America only. They employee thousands of American employees in each of their factories and headquarters in California. You are only hurting yourself by not shopping at each brand. Im not saying I hate American car manufactures bc they are doing great now (at least GM and Ford is) but im not gonna be forced to stick with them just bc they originally are American.

  • This car is just a rebadged 2009 Daewoo laceti. nothing new here.

  • I love my cruze I've had it since November took it to Florida got up to 41mpg's on my 2LT model handling was great in wind and rain storm coming home in the mountains. Traded my Subaru and all the problems I had with it. I love almost everything including the styling of my CRUZE. I'm a retired over the road driver and I've seen 'em all.

  • the fish net fabric dashboard is freaking ugly and tacky...

  • @xoquixxoqafxo I agree. Fish net looks good on a woman's legs but not on my dashboard. lol

  • @xoquixxoqafxo I wanted to ask the Chevy rep if this was a new exotic dancer edition of the Cruze. I bet that the material stretches out and sags within 50K miles. I wanted to rave about the Cruze, but I just cannot because there are too many mistakes, especially compared to the Hyundai Elantra, Civic, 2012 Focus or even the Corolla.

  • @epistte

bwahahaha nice! you should have done it! As much as I don't prefer the Cruze, I'd rather buy it over a Corolla any day lol But yeah all the other compacts you mentioned except the Corolla makes me forget all about the Chevy.

  • Please tell me what is the " AQS" and what is it used for ???

  • No...it is not high quality. Only GM product I would risk money on would be a Cadillac CTSV/Corvette/Truck. GM doesn't know how to produce a small quality car that is well built and competes with Japanese models. My suggestion, buy a pre-owned, 2-3 year old Acura/Honda/Toyota for the same price and get proven quality without the stigma of "Government Motors" and ruinuos unions!

  • Kelsey, this is a very disappointing review of the new Cruze because you got your information wrong! You said the truck has 13 square feet but the trunk actually has 15 cubic square feet, not 13 as you suggested. It has a very large trunk for it's class. It has more than the Ford Focus that has 13.8 cubic square feet. The Cruze also comes with folding rear seats for added room for more cargo.

  • why 2011???..it's already released here in the Philippines...and it's suprisingly famous than the Ford Fiesta...:/

  • It is available with a folding rear seat.

  • Out of 23 country's of sales, this ONLY happened in USA!!

Now the weather mats where causing an issue but peoples BOGUS claims of the throttle getting stuck is just a fucking JOKE!!

it has NEVER been officially proven that there ever was a throttle problem!!!

    just CLAIMS!!!

  • 40MPG????

    Maybe down hill!!

Real figures as test in Australia was around 26-27 MPG

  • @RAJSTA81 its hilly there and its a special model with a 1.4l 4 cyl that makes high 30's CLOSE to 40

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, you get 40 miles per gallon, but you also get pathetic, anemic acceleration!!!

  • If you look at 2:25, the guy has a hard on over the car.

  • this guy cant review a car to save his life the seats a tweed its what car makers are bringing back and i didnt know that we bouht cars to live in them there just cars drive it !

  • It's great that we get to have our own opinion...but wow..I am always amazed at how unfounded so many of them are...hahahahah

  • I don't know what people were expecting, this is a 17,000 dollar car - something my son would purchase. Granted, its spacious and has excellent mileage on it. It's interior is superior to both the Corolla and the Civic (one of the worst looking cars imo). Would I go for it? I'm not sure Chevy can deliver the quality needed, so I'll wait a few months for this one.

  • it is okay. I was expecting more with all of the hype about it. I can't believe that they actually claimed that it approaches "lexus quality". that's a little rediculous. I think that GM is finally moving forward though, great decision to drop that cobalt. Ford is still my 'GOTO' as far as domestics go, however.

  • I spot an error at 0:53. The cruze's trunk is actually 15 cubic feet not 13.

  • what is with the back seat, every cruze i saw the whole seat folds down, is that just on base models?

  • @pontiacgrandprx

    This is an old model.

Production models have folding seats. 60/40

  • wooohooo Looking nice CRUZE!!! def take a look at it...:)

  • ...and I thought the Cobalt was a piece of shit, this looks like what one should expect if they buy a piece of shit car in the 90s (which was a very cheap era of cars).

  • it already looks old... like a 2007 model

  • if its as reliable as my malibu, i'll buy it...

  • @sverduzco i agree my malibu maxx has been one of my best purchases so far and i love that car.. however this one looks pretty good so i got to check it out!!!

  • @lifeischrist malibu maxx is a wierd ass looking car the normal malibu is much better looking espesially the ss

  • You are entitled to be proud that a car such as cruise only car that is characterized by luxury and sophistication, making it the car indomitable other cars

  • mazda 3 rules!!

  • Some of these comments from a bunch of Korean whining bitches are pretty funny....or sad.

GM SAVED Daewoo you ungrateful kimchi sucking idiots. Daewoo was bankrupt, now it's an exporting monster thanks to GM.

As for the comments about the Cruze being a Daewoo, GMDAT designed the exterior and interior. The chassis and suspension was designed by Opel. The engines are global with the North American 1.4L Turbo designed by GMNA.

As for GM quality, at least they stop when you apply the brakes :)

  • No Gas pedals getting stuck with american products

  • @skidoomxz600ZX of course not they explode !

  • @skidoomxz600ZX

Get your facts straight, dipshit. The Toyota "sticking" gas pedal IS an AMERICAN PRODUCT!!! The company who built it is called CTS, located in Indiana.

  • @happy543210 And they are brought in from and for a Japanese company eh??

  • @skidoomxz600ZX I'm sure I recall a Lexus (American) on the news with it's acceleration pedal 'stuck', killing all it's occupants.

  • @TravMenace LEXUS is not AMERICAN BUDDY, Its Toyota... you honestly just said that??

  • @skidoomxz600ZX Well it kinda is; it's a posh Toyota, mostly for the American Market.

  • @skidoomxz600ZX

You do realize that the gas pedal that is fitted to the Toyota is American???

  • @RAJSTA81 ANd you do realize the actually pedal wasnt stuck... if was a computer issue and also youd think the engineers of toyota would order the right pedal then if they designed it

  • @skidoomxz600ZX

Oh funny that !!! But the people where "claiming" that the pedal was "STUCK" to the floor!! countless efforts to bring the pedal off of the floor was useless!!

  • I don't like this review but the car it's OK

  • Wasn't this designed by Holden? God Cars are confusing but only in the model way it's like arrr. example the Holden Commodore SS or SV6 is under a different name/company other seas it's quiet annoying to me haha

  • Designed by GMDAT but Holden came up with the name. I usually love Holden for their RWD cars but for coming up with this name I'm not too fond of them right now.

  • @untalt DISAGREE

  • Stolen BMW design, it's OK, I guess ...

  • @pinochet222 not at all

  • @pinochet222 not only BMW dude...also the Honda Civic....just the same size....probably not the same chassis as the Civic...but really similar to it..

  • Honda has been going downhill as I ha one for many years and can't get rid of it fast enough. Oil keeps leaking and mechanics tell me to give it away but I can't. GM is improving in quality and perception quick. Read Consumer Reports latest perception survey about Chevy.

  • great another substandard review of a car..

just because you have a press pass doesnt make you something special... drive the car do a proper review and tell me something i give a shit about... engines? trans? price? availability date?... you havent shown me anything that i couldnt see by simply looking through the window or sitting in the car inside a dealership showroom... dont do this for the new 5.0 mustang...

  • Exactly- I manage a rental fleet and we have these....once you drive the thing, u would never buy it...it will sell purely on badge loyalty...

  • what a dumbass of course the seats do fold away

  • nice car

     I can't wait

  • This car looks like a mixture of Chevy cobalt and Nissan Altima. It has the face of a Cobalt and the body of a Altima.

  • this car is bad ass and is better then the cobalt and is in competition with the corrolla which it will beat

  • its just gas isn't cheap and no one is really financially stable we don't have the money to buy new gm needs to lower the price to sell more

  • If they sell this junk for less than $10K i can think about replacing my 12 year old Honda Accord which is in shipshape. But will keep my Honda just in case if this GM Junk breaks in the first 2 years and i can continue using my trusted Honda.

  • esto si que es 1 carro de los de verdad

  • I've seen the seats fold down.

  • i have to....the one at this past auto show...i think GM heard this review and changed it...who knows...

  • Comment removed

  • lol omg it it a rebadged DAEWO LACETTI.....check it out online.........shame on u GM

  • Comment removed

  • uh whats wrong with that?

  • the Cruze is NOT an American product you fucktard.

  • Does it matter? Most of the "american" products are assembled out of the US and we have "foreign" products assembled in the US and few are calling them out.

  • It doesn't matter where they are assembled, it depends where the company is headquartered, because thats where all of the money goes. Many of the American cars are assembled in North America, which I'm all for.

  • finally some positive response to new products that will help GM pay back all of you tax payer money support helps more than hate..

  • It's a global car designed by GMDAT, Opel, Holden, and GMNA.

  • A Korean Chaebol easily could have bought out Daewoo. And Koreans weren't going to let a Fuck of a company like GM get. But behind the doors, the South Korean courts and Other forces somehow let GM big for the Assets of Daewoo for a paltry 251million dollars. Daewoo was worth 100 fold of that price..

  • Daewoo was worth a bucket of Kimchi.

  • The Cruze is NOT American. It is sold by GM but Daewoo did most of the work. And Daewoo has to pay GM to engineer their own vehicles. It's because of stupid fucks like you that Gm continue to get away with Fraud and outright thievery of Korean engineering that GM continues to prosper.

In which All of Daewoo's profits will go to GM Preferred Shareholders. And Koreans insanely brainwashed/braindead to commit to work for an American empire that is GM

  • when the Cruze goes into production it will be built at the GM plant in lordstown ohio the same plant that produced the Chevy Coblat and pontiac G5.

  • What's more American than exploiting cheap labor?

  • true

  • Hey moron, Daewoo was bankrupt and GM saved them. The only thing Daewoo did for this car was the interior and exterior design, which happens to be the worst part of the car. Opel engineered the chassis.

You should get on your knees and thank GM for saving Daewoo, which was a worthless POS until GM took it over

  • Comment removed

  • Hey a few naughty pics never hurt anybody

  • Actually most of the design, the interior materials, the transmission is all heavily influenced from Daewoo.

I mean the Cobalt and Malibu's were complete garbage only a few years ago.

    Yet, the Malibu,

    1. Improved Material goods. Though to be an impossible goods. How?

    2. Chassis looks extremely competitive.

Where the hell did GM get the engineering for acquiring the Robotics and the Steel quality to achieve that>

I see the Daewoo connection for sure.

  • You see the Daewoo connection because you are a deluded moron.

The transmission is NA developed, Daewoo had nothing to do with the Malibu. The only thing Daewoo has produced for GM are it's worst products-the Aveo, Barina, Suzuki Forenza and Reno, etc. All suck. GM for some reason let GMDAT design the Cruze even though GMNA designers are far superior.

  • @untalt

    Wrong

This car is completely developed in Korea by Daewoo..

It's designed by Daewoo as GM claims but contrary to GM's claim that it's engineered in Germany, it's actually engineered in Korea too... Daewoo modified the Opel developed Delta I platform for the use in the Lacetti Premier back in 2008 and GM took this so called Global platform back to Germany, called it the Delta II and started using in other GM cars.. this car is Daewoo through and through... Sorry~

  • @untalt

They got Daewoo for practically nothing.... if they didn't have Daewoo, and its small car manufacturing specialization, GM would not be making the kind of recovery as they do now...

Because of GM's confidence in Daewoo, they were able to sell off the likes of Subaru and Suzuki, and close NUMMI, generating much needed capital...

no Opel or Holden cars can ever make this much impact in the US... case in point, Saturn Astra and Pontiac G8... where are these cars now?

  • The Cruze is not an American car. It is made and designed in South Korea. In which Daewoo pays GM to design their own vehicles. talk about a complete Scam.

  • I wouldn`t say that at all. The Cruze is based on the GM Delta II platform and was not designed solely by Daewoo but by all the GM divisions together. This is not another Aveo which is based on Dawoo`s own T200 platform. Additionally, here in the United States, the Cruze will be manufactured in Lordstown Ohio not in Korea.

    I believe you are mistaken.

  • Yes the cruze is american, its going to to be built in Ohio with the Volt.

  • Its a global car-GMNA, Opel, Holden, Daewoo for design only.

  • It's not an American product. It's a Korean product that Koreans Pay American people to produce.

  • i live in the town (lordstown, ohio) where they build the cobalt and are about to start building the cruze too.. they are going to be building all three, cobalt, g5, and cruze at the plant here in my town.. i think people should support american manufacturing and try to buy more american products, especially the things made here at home.

  • Mazda! Honda! Mazda! Honda! Chevrolet is bad quality! Worst service!

  • mubarra77 your a faggot.

  • asdd

  • 40mpg is rubbish in this day and age.

  • Not in America.

  • It's better looking than the Cobalt, that's for sure!

  • the interior is garbage

  • The interior looks cool,.......but I dont know about the exterior...... we have to wait and see it in person.

  • the car is alright but your kelsey mays is ridiculous. he looks 15 with down syndrome and the humour to fit.

  • its beauuuuutifulllllll i want one NOW!!!!

  • Toyota's...with all that so called "futuristic" styling, aren't really appealing to me. They look like insects with those weird grilles. Nissan needs some redesign too, take some cues from American cars. Gotta compliment Honda on the Accord though, its got class. GM does not fail on designing, take your bias in favor of Japanese products elsewhere.

  • Tim Robbins was in Top Gun? Seriously?

  • GM fails because they have absolutely no taste in car designing, they hire designers from Italy or Germany if they want to succeed. American car companies just don't get it!!

  • they should hire from*******

  • I agree, no innovation, creativity or bold new designs and I think this is where the Japs have us beat.

  • Really? And cars like the new Cororllas or Sentras have great designs?

  • My comment never mentioned cheap japanese cars,I mentioned Euro cars for designs, but then again we'll see maybe new electric cars might be better, so GM has a few more years to generate money or dive into the history books

  • The cobalt is so much sportier looking. Id rather have the cobalt. This this things is about as exciting as a corolla.

  • are you serious? the cobalt is a pos

  • I hope they make a coupe/ss version of the cruze. It'll be pretty boring if they go the toyota route, and keep it a sedan..... I hate those corollas.

  • You don't get it Jasong,

GM Raped Daewoo. Either on purpose or with Kim's help to get a hold of Daewoo's billions of dollars of Assets as well as Korean engineering expertise. Since obviously GM could design the Vega, Impala, and the Malibu so well in the 90's and early 2000's. Please, save it.

  • Nice looking car GM. I might get one. People may be very surprised to find out that all car manufactures use alot of the same suppliers. That goes for Honda and Toyota, too. GM is doing what every car manufacture will be doing soon and that is to lower costs. Cars are becoming commodities around the world. Look for cars to come from India and China in the next 15 years. Car companies will become what Nike is: just a marketing company.

  • this guy is a total fag

  • @ ktolwal. Ha ha he is. He's a nerdfighter type faggot. I'm sure he like Harry Potter too. He reminds me of the annoying vlogbrothers here on youtube.

  • Daewoo definately got its ass throttled by the big shlong of General Motors. The same company, along with IG Farbin, Ford, that powered Hitlers War Machine. So that Hitler can rampage Europe and start is neat little Eugenics Experiment in Aushwitz. Yeah.. .That good ol people killing Corporate conduit of a company called General Motors.

Even General Motors sounds fucking evil... God damn it.

  • they don't own Daewoo. they raped Daewoo.

And Kim Woo CHOONG was the key to do so. That fucker knew what he was doing. He was capitulating the the GM Shareholder and board of Directors. that Fucker, wrecked Daewoo Motors. GM, should be bankrupt, but now Daewoo will be their good little slave. So, Fuck GM, and get an education you ingorant koolaid GM zomibe

  • mehhhh

It'll probably be "good" in just about every category, which to me is boring.

What GM needs is a Mini, Scion xB, etc. Something thats polarizing but really loved by a bunch of people.

  • such a hateful little car. shitty engine. low horsepower. can't turn for shit.

  • @JohnnyMidnight1, what do you expect for the tiny POS class? Seriously....

  • it's engineered and designed by GM Daewoo in Korea and built worldwide...

  • Sure looks forgettable. Another bland, gutless, plasticy piece of mass-produced failure.

  • So this is what Barry's Bailout bought us: more proof that GM can't build small cars. This is a Daewoo.

They've done this for years, starting with the "LUV" truck (Toyota), the Nova in the 80s/90s (Toyota), the Le Mans in the 80s (Daewoo), the Metro (Suzuki), and now the Cruze.

Oh, Chevy tried to build its own small cars, sure: The Vega (HA), the Chevette (fell apart).

I'm glad I caught onto GM's failed game early. I wouldn't own a GM product if you paid me. I hate companies that lie, don't you?

  • well... business and ethics have never been hand to hand reason why they invented "bussiness ethics" ; just to justify profits...

  • Ur such a fool. It's arrogant fools like you that make people hate America.

  • Apparently this is the new 'reasonably priced car' when Top Gear comes back in November. We'll see what it can do then.

  • gamdaaaaaaaaaaa

  • nice car:D

  • ummm ummm ummm ummm ummm

  • this is going to be another multi-billion loss for gm..

  • Nice job backing up your statements.

    asshole.

  • Another Vega in the making

  • your 100% correct

  • Birreh:

I'm with you. GM is a company that basically stole of Daewoo's billion dollars assets for mere pennies. They then use Daewoo to make products for its cars, charge Daewoo a fee for doing so. And in the end, all profits go to the Warren Michigan headquarters so that the board of directors can fly their private jets with money earned from the Hard sweat of Daewoo engineers. This exaclty what is happening to Daewoo as of 2009. however, hopefully Daewoo will become independent one day.

  • If GM took the long view they would have invested in quality small cars instead of importing terrible Daewoo cars.

  • the opening systeme on the boot is better in the cobalt than that :S beside that nice car

  • I've got a question. what's a normal fuel consumption in the US? is a four cilinder normal in a car?

  • average american who owns a car drives about 30 miles a day (or roughly 1000 miles a month), ya four cylinder is normal.

  • most cars sold in the US are either compact (small) or mid-size. a good compact should be making roughly 30 miles per gallon, while a good mid-size car should get only 2 or 3 mpg's less. inline-four engines are very common in compact and mid-size cars (full-size cars, trucks, SUVs, and sports cars normally have more cylinders).

  • Finally! a car that isn't a POS from GM. Only concern i have though is the motor. With turbo it might reduce the lifespan and cause it to go out sooner than most other engines.

  • This car is available in Europe and Australia right now, Coming to the us next year.

  • No locking glove box. I wouldn't buy it based on that alone. How much could it possibly cost to add one? I understand that $10 is a lot of money when you are making a million cars but it just screams CHEAP not to have a locking glove box.

  • Some would say the same about an ash tray. I've never locked a glove box in my life and wouldn't pay $10 to add a lock to one.

Cars, especially economy cars are built to a price point. What would you give up in exchange for a locking glove box?

  • If someone is breaking into your car i imagine they could just as easily get in the glovebox... I'd be more worried about my window being smashed or my door torn open then losing whatever random BS i have in my glovebox.

  • Personally i hate gm with a passion, but i do have to say this car looks really nice maybe gm finally picked up their game

  • um, if I frequently go to home depot I'm not even thinking about getting anything other than a truck, that was a bit of a stupid comment.

  • nice interior ! fabric on the dashboard ? brilliant ! GM starts to get better !

  • It has aveo eyes n traditional chevy grill.
